Spectrum Health System, commonly known as Spectrum Health, is a not-for-profit, integrated, managed care health care organization based in West Michigan.Spectrum Health's subsidiaries include hospitals, treatment facilities, urgent care facilities, as well as physician practices that serve the western Michigan area. Priority Health is a subsidiary health plan with one million members. The Grand Rapids Medical Corridor North Pedestrian Tunnel is a tunnel in Grand Rapids, Michigan connecting the Lemmen Holton Oncology Center with Butterworth Hospital and Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.

The Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion is an outpatient cancer center located in the Grand Rapids Medical Mile in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was developed to bring all cancer research and patient service delivery under one roof in the Spectrum Health System, which merged with Beaumont Health in 2022 to form Corewell Health. The land for the project was purchased in 2002 with a donation from Frederik and Lena Meijer. The $78 million facility opened on June 30, 2008. It is located across the street from Butterworth Hospital on Michigan Street and is connected to it by a tunnel. Since the location is also near the Van Andel Institute, the hospital has a high rate of cancer patients on clinical trials: eight percent compared to the national rate of three percent. The Pavilion is named after two employees that worked for Meijer and advanced their way to the top of the company.

The Helen DeVos Children's Hospital (HDCH) is a nationally ranked, freestanding, 241-bed, pediatric acute care children's hospital located in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. It is affiliated with the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and is a member of the Spectrum health system, the only children's hospital in the system. The hospital provides comprehensive pediatric specialties and subspecialties to infants, children, teens, and young adults aged 0–18 throughout Grand Rapids region and features an ACS verified level I pediatric trauma center. Its regional pediatric intensive-care unit and neonatal intensive care units serve the region. It is named for Helen DeVos, wife of Amway founder Richard DeVos, a major donor.

The Ford Fieldhouse is multi-purpose arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA, on the campus of Grand Rapids Community College. The Fieldhouse houses a gymnasium that seats 4,000 and a natatorium that seats 2,000. VAI was founded by Jay and Betty Van Andel in 1996 and comprises four divisions: Van Andel Research Institute (VARI), Van Andel Education Institute (VAEI), Van Andel Institute Graduate School (VAIGS), and Purple Community.The institute's research focuses on cancer epigenetics and Parkinson's disease. Its educational efforts support teacher development and science education from early elementary through the doctoral level. David Van Andel, son of Jay and Betty, has served as CEO and chairman of the board since 1996.

Fountain Street Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, was for a time unique in the United States as being large, religiously liberal and non-denominational in a notably conservative city. It arose from its beginnings as a Baptist church which responded to the ascendency of liberal Christianity in the late 19th century, primarily through graduates of the University of Chicago Divinity School, which was a leader in the movement. Established in the largest town in West Michigan, in 1869 as Fountain Street Baptist Church, by 1960 FSC surrendered its Baptist name and identity altogether to become an independent, non-denominational liberal church. In 1959, a book chronicling the story of Fountain Street Church titled Liberal Legacy – A History of Fountain Street Church was published in-house by Philip Buchen, a member of the church and legal advisor to President Gerald Ford. In the years between 1896 and 2006 Fountain Street Church eventually shed its explicitly Christian identity for a non-creedal spiritual life that closely approximated Unitarian Universalism. Its newest mantra to "Free the Mind, Grow the Soul and Change the World" summarizes the church's approach to religion from the earlier days to this.
