Creil

The siege of Creil (8–25 May 1441) took place during the Hundred Years War. French forces led by King Charles VII of France besieged and captured the English-held town and castle north of Paris.

The canton of Creil is an administrative division of the Oise department, northern France. It was created at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Creil.It consists of the following communes: Creil Verneuil-en-Halatte

Creil is the railway station serving the northern French city of Creil. It is an important railway junction, situated on the Paris–Lille railway, the Creil–Jeumont railway and the branch lines to Beauvais and Pontoise. Nogent-sur-Oise (French pronunciation: [nɔʒɑ̃ syʁ waz], literally Nogent on Oise; Picard: Nogint-su-Oése) is a commune in the French department of Oise, administrative region of Hauts-de-France (Picardy as former region). It lies adjacent to the north of the larger town Creil.

The Communauté d'agglomération Creil Sud Oise is a communauté d'agglomération located in the Oise département and in the Hauts-de-France région of France. Its seat is in the town Creil. It was created on 1 January 2017. Its area is 83.5 km2. Its population was 88,665 in 2020, of which 35,970 in Creil proper.

The Thérain (French pronunciation: [teʁɛ̃]) is a river in France, tributary of the Oise. It is 94.4 km (58.7 mi) long. It rises between Saint-Michel-d'Halescourt and Grumesnil in Seine-Maritime at 175 meters elevation. It flows generally southeast, through Songeons, Milly-sur-Thérain, Beauvais, Hermes and Mouy, and joins the Oise at Creil. Its valley, near the metropolitan area of Paris, has been a highly industrialized and populated area, and Beauvais lies at the foot of wooded hills on the left bank of the Thérain at its confluence with L' Avelon.

The Château de Montataire is a 12th-century castle in the commune of Montataire in the Oise département of France.The castle was constructed in the 12th century by Count Renaud II de Clermont (c. 1074 – c. 1154) on the orders of the king. It comprises a right-angled corps de logis flanked by four round towers of different diameters. The building was subject to several alterations up to the 19th century. The grounds now contain several buildings but are not accessible to the public. The castle is in the rue de l'Église, but is not visible from the public domain except at a distance from the rue Lénine in the east.
