Athens Lower Village Historic District

Athens is a village in Greene County, New York, United States. The population was 1,586 at the 2020 census. The village is named after the classical city of Athens. It is in the eastern part of the town of Athens, across the Hudson River from the city of Hudson.

The Hudson–Athens Lighthouse, sometimes called the Hudson City light, is a lighthouse located in the Hudson River in the state of New York in the United States. The light is located between Hudson and Athens, closer to the Hudson side. Constructed in 1874, it marks a sandy ridge known as Middle Ground Flats and also acts as a general aid to navigation of the river. The station is built on a granite caisson with a unique shape designed to protect it from ice floes and river debris. The dwelling is constructed in the Second Empire architectural style, with a mansard roof. It is considered to be virtually a twin of the Stepping Stones Light in Long Island Sound, which was constructed just a few years later.

The Albertus Van Loon House (, like van loan) is a 1.5 story native stone home in the village of Athens, New York, United States. Built in 1724 by Albertus Van Loon, one of eight children of Jan Van Loon, it is one of the oldest extant buildings in its part of New York State.It is located at 85 North Washington Street (also known as New York State Route 385), inside the Village of Athens Multiple Resource Area (MRA).

Zion Lutheran Church is a historic Lutheran church in Athens, Greene County, New York. It was built in 1853 and features a pair of wooden Doric order columns in antis and brick pilasters. The brick church is in the Greek Revival style and has a square, two stage tower.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

It has a 2+1⁄2-story central block with 2-story symmetrical wings. It features a 3-story portico supported by Ionic columns.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Oliver Wiswall House is a historic home located at Hudson in Columbia County, New York. It was built about 1836 and is a 2+1⁄2-story, L-shaped brick dwelling with a low pitched hipped roof in the Greek Revival style. The north elevation has porch with four Doric order columns and a dentilled cornice. Also on the property is a garage dated to the 1930s.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

They consist of the Adirondack from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the Empire Service from Niagara Falls, New York, the Ethan Allen Express from Burlington, VT, and the Maple Leaf from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Lake Shore Limited trains from Chicago served Hudson until April 4, 2009.

Basilica Hudson is an arts and performance venue in Hudson, New York, US. It was established in 2010 out of a 19th-century factory located near the city's "South Bay" riverfront along the Hudson River. Basilica Hudson schedules its programming between spring and fall. Events range from film screenings and visual art exhibitions, to annual farmers' and flea markets with local vendors. It is the setting for the annual Basilica SoundScape festival and the 24 Hour Drone music festival, Its creative directors in 2013 are musician Melissa Auf der Maur and independent filmmaker Tony Stone. Owned by Lev Glazman and Alina Roytberg, it opened on August 6, 2020.The hotel, which has eleven bedrooms, occupies three historic buildings: a 19th-century carriage house, a Georgian mansion and a Greek Revival building. Its library featured several hundreds of books from the Strand Book Store in New York City. Its four suites are named the Architect, the Artist, the Writer and the Gardener.The hotel, which is 14,000 square feet (1,300 m2), has three dining areas: a café, a lounge and a restaurant (located in a conservatory).
