The Main Southern railway line passes through the parish near its eastern edge, including the stations of Casula, Liverpool, Warwick Farm, Cabramatta, Canley Vale and Fairfield.

Pal College was an independent school located in Cabramatta, a south-western suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Established in 2005 by Seth Pal, Pal College had at one time an enrolment of an estimated 200+ students from Years 7 to 12. Pal College was ranked 97th in the 2008 "Top 200" HSC Schools in New South Wales. The school was closed in 2011.

Cabramatta, also abbreviated as Cabra, is a suburb in South Western Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Cabramatta is located 30 kilometres (19 mi) south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Fairfield. Cabramatta has been a melting pot for all manner of Asian and European peoples in the latter half of the 20th century. Initially Since the 1980s, Cabramatta has been a centre for the Vietnamese, as well as many residents from other Asian and European origins. Because of its high Vietnamese population, the suburb has earned the nickname 'Little Saigon'.

Green Valley Creek is a stream situated in Western Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. A tributary of Orphan School Creek, the creek is one of the five significant creeks that are found within the Fairfield City Council LGA.

On 15 April 2024, at approximately 7:15 pm local time, a knife attack took place at Christ The Good Shepherd Church in Wakeley, a suburb of Sydney, Australia. During a live-streamed sermon, the attacker walked up to the pulpit, first stabbing bishop Mari Emmanuel, resulting in permanent vision loss in Emmanuel's right eye, before stabbing a priest and injuring another churchgoer. While no one was killed, this attack was the second stabbing incident to have taken place in Sydney in three days, following the deadly mass stabbing at Bondi Junction. The New South Wales Police Force have arrested a 16-year-old male over the attack. They have classified the stabbing as a terrorist attack, but have not revealed the name or exact motive of the accused. Wakeley is home to many Christians belonging to the Assyrian diaspora, including Emmanuel himself.
