WBIX

WMEX (1510 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Quincy, Massachusetts, and serving the Greater Boston media market. It is owned by L&J Media, headed by Tony LaGreca and Larry Justice. WMEX broadcasts an oldies radio format of hits from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, as well as full service features including local DJs, news, traffic and weather. Late nights and weekends, it uses the MeTV FM syndicated music service. The radio studios and offices are on Enterprise Drive in Marshfield.By day, WMEX transmits with 10,000 watts, using a non-directional antenna, but 1510 AM is a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A WLAC Nashville, Tennessee, which itself is directional at night protecting WMEX to the northeast as well as KGA Spokane, Washington to the west. Since WMEX uses a non-directional antenna, to prevent interference to either station, during critical hours, WMEX drops its power to 2,000 watts, and at night, it further reduces its output to only 100 watts. The transmitter is on Riverside Avenue in Quincy, near the Neponset River. The station was silent from late June 2017 to November 7, 2019, when it returned to the air with new ownership, a new city of license of Quincy, and a reduction in power from the previous output of 50,000 watts directional day and night.

Pope John Paul II Park Reservation, also known as Pope Park, is a 66-acre (27 ha) Massachusetts state park bordering the Neponset River in the Dorchester section of Boston. The park has been reclaimed from the former site of a landfill and the Neponset Drive-In as part of the Lower Neponset River Master Plan and the development of the Neponset River Reservation. The park is managed by the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR).DCR has restored a salt marsh area and planted native trees and shrubs. The area now attracts an increased variety of birds to the habitat, including snowy egrets and great blue herons.

The House at 20 Sterling Street in Quincy, Massachusetts, is a well-preserved Colonial Revival duplex. The two-story wood-frame house was built in 1911 by Henry Grass, a local contractor who built a number of homes in the Quincy area. The Foursquare house has a hip roof with a wide overhang, with hip-roofed dormers. The full width of the front has a single-story porch, supported by four round columns, and there are bay windows project from the front and side.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Russell M. Dicey House is a historic house at 56 Pope Street in Quincy, Massachusetts. The 1+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built in 1918, and is a well-preserved example of a modest Craftsman bungalow. It has the extended eaves with brackets typical of the style, as well as a fieldstone porch with tapered square posts. Russell Dicey was a local contractor who lived here for several years, selling the house in 1927.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Montclair is a neighborhood of Quincy, Massachusetts. The neighborhood is separated from Boston by the Neponset River, and roughly follows West Squantum Street from Newport Avenue to the Milton town line, extending approximately to Hobart Street.

The Railway Village Historic District is a historic district encompassing a densely populated, predominantly residential, area of eastern Milton, Massachusetts. The 30-acre (12 ha) district lies roughly between East Milton Square and the town line with neighboring Quincy. The area's significant growth occurred after the 1826 construction of the Granite Railway, which transported stone from the nearby granite quarries to the Neponset River. This resulted in the movement to the area of stone workers and related interests. The principal thoroughfare of the district is Adams Street; the district extends along Pierce Street, Granite Place, and Washington Street, and includes properties on intervening and connecting streets.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Neponset is a district in the southeast corner of Dorchester, Boston, Massachusetts, United States. The Neponset Indians were the original inhabitants of this district and in 1646 John Eliot preached unsuccessfully to the Native American community in Neponset (Dorchester) led by Sachem Cutshamekin before the tribe moved to Ponkapoag.

North Quincy station is an MBTA subway Red Line station in Quincy, Massachusetts. It is located in North Quincy, off Hancock Street (Route 3A). A major park-and-ride stop, it has over 1200 parking spaces for commuters. The station is fully accessible. It opened in 1971 along with Wollaston and Quincy Center as the first section of the South Shore Line section of the Red Line. It is the only one of the four Red Line stations in Quincy not located at a former Old Colony Railroad station site; the Old Colony served Atlantic and Norfolk Downs stations short distances away.

North Quincy High School (NQHS) is a public secondary school located in the North Quincy neighborhood of Quincy, Massachusetts, United States. The school serves grades 9 through 12, and has an enrollment of over 1,200 students. It is one of two public high schools in the city—the other being Quincy High School. The school's mascot is known as "Yakoo", and its school colors are red and black.

The Building at 51 Hunt Street in Quincy, Massachusetts, is one of a relatively small number of triple decker apartment buildings in the city. Built in 1907 by Charles Stratton as part of his development of North Quincy as a rail-commuter suburb, it is a three-story wood-frame structure, with a flat roof and wooden clapboard siding. The building is notable for its high parapet and its unusual porch balustrades. The roof line has a cornice with dentil moulding and simple brackets.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Quincy School is a historic school building at 94 Newbury Avenue in Quincy, Massachusetts. The two-story brick building was built in 1906 and enlarged in 1932; its original design was by Hurd & Gore, and the addition was by Hutchins & French. A longtime elementary school, it closed in 1981 following city cutbacks in the wake of Proposition 2 1/2, and was subsequently sold to private developers for conversion to condominiums. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Building at 1–7 Moscow Street in Quincy, Massachusetts, is a rare turn-of-the-20th century wood frame apartment house. It was built in the first decade of the 20th century, and is a long rectangular 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure, with two sets of paired entranceways The gambrel projections over the entrances are a hallmark of the Shingle style, but its original wood shingle finish has been replaced by modern siding (see photo). The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
