Gifford's Hall is a manor house in the civil parish of Wickhambrook, in the West Suffolk district, in the county of Suffolk, England. It is Grade I listed Its name derives from the same Gifford family who also owned Giffords Hall, Stoke-by-Nayland.In the reign of Edward I, Peter Giffard held half a fee here and by 1321 William Giffard received the grant of a free warren. The Wickhambrook house passed to the Clopton family in the fourteenth century and subsequently to the Highams in the seventeenth century. After a period as a farm in the Victorian era it was divided into tenements before being bought by Seymour Lucas in 1904 who restored and modernised the building.

Stradishall is a village and civil parish in West Suffolk in the English county of Suffolk. The civil parish includes a number of hamlets including Farley Green. The Royal Air Force operated an airfield near Stradishall, RAF Stradishall, which was operational between 1938 and 1970. The former airfield is now the site of two category C prisons: HMP Highpoint North and HMP Highpoint South. Part of the former airfield remains a MOD training site which is closed to the public. There is a memorial to RAF Stradishall outside Stirling House which was once part of the officers quarters and now is a training unit for the Prison service. The village has an Anglican church dedicated to St Margaret.

Chipley Priory was a small Augustine religious house, dedicated to the Blessed Virgin, located about 1 mile (2 km) north-west of the village of Poslingford in the English county of Suffolk. The date of its foundation is unknown and the first references to it occur in 1235. The priory never became a major house – a taxation roll from 1291 shows its income at less than £5 per annum – and by 1455 the buildings were ruins. By 1468 the Bishop of Norwich allowed the lands to be annexed by the College at Stoke-next-Clare.The site is occupied by a 17th-century farmhouse which incorporates some medieval building material believed to come from the priory buildings. The priory church is believed to have been destroyed in 1818 and human remains and other artifacts have been recovered from the site, with a stone coffin and bell kept at Poslingford Church.A plaque erected on the site in 1990 by the Clopton Family Association, lists information about the occupants, burials and priors of the priory.

Stansfield is a village and civil parish in the West Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England. Located seven miles south-west of Bury St Edmunds, in 2011 its population was 221. The village has an Anglican church dedicated to All Saints. In 1870, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Stansfield as "A parish, with S. village and Assington-Green hamlet, in Risbridge district, Suffolk; 5 miles N by E of Clare r. station. It has a post-office under Sudbury. Acres, 1,989. Real property, £2,998. Pop., 549. Houses, 109. The property is divided among a few. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ely. Value, £500.* Patron, the Lord Chancellor. There are an Independent chapel, and charities £11".

Coltsfoot Green is a small hamlet within the village of Wickhambrook, Suffolk, England. It constitutes one of its eleven village greens and consists of a small green with a small tributary of the River Glem running through it. Until 2009 there was a small copse on the green which was removed due to the poor condition of the trees. Replanting was anticipated in 2010 but the Estates Committee of the Parish Council decided to leave the Green without further planting for the foreseeable future. A water well resided on the green until it was filled in at an unknown date although evidence of its existence was demonstrated when the copse was removed. On the Green is also a memorial bench which looks out over the Green towards Coltsfoot Close.

Wickhambrook is a village and civil parish in the West Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England. It is about ten miles (16 km) south-west from Bury St Edmunds, halfway to Haverhill, off the A143 road. Wickhambrook is the largest village by area in the county of Suffolk with a population of 1170 in 2005.The village was recorded in the Domesday Book as "Wicham".

Clare Rural District was a rural district in the county of West Suffolk, England. It was created in 1894, comprising those parishes in the Risbridge rural sanitary district which were in Suffolk. On 1 April 1935 it was enlarged by the addition of the parishes of Lidgate and Ousden from the disbanded Moulton Rural District, Cavendish and Hawkedon from the Melford Rural District and Depden from the Thingoe Rural District. It was named after and administered from Clare. Since 1 April 1974 it has formed part of the Borough of St Edmundsbury.

Poslingford is a village and civil parish in the West Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England, near to a stream that feeds the into the Chilton stream and then the Suffolk Stour. The main part of the village follows the line of The Street (the main road through to the village of Stansfield), rising approximately 40 metres in height above sea level from south to north.

At 128 metres (420 ft), Great Wood Hill, near Chedburgh, is the highest point in the English county of Suffolk. It is the highest part of the Newmarket Ridge. The summit is in the middle of a wood, near the village of Rede. It is the highest point in the wide area east of the River Cam.

The Newmarket Ridge or East Anglian Ridge is a ridge starting north-west of Hertford, Hertfordshire near the Chiltern Hills and ending near Sudbury, Suffolk. It is approximately 40 miles (64 km) long and passes through Essex and south-east Cambridgeshire.
