On 1 October 2024, two Hamas gunmen carried out an attack in Jaffa, Tel Aviv, Israel. Seven civilians were killed, and seventeen others were injured. The gunmen were subsequently shot dead by armed civilians and police.

The St. Anthony of Padua Church (Hebrew: כנסיית אנטוניוס הקדוש) or simply Church of St. Anthony, is a religious building of the Catholic church located on Yefet Street in Jaffa, the southwestern district of the city of Tel Aviv in central Israel.The temple stands out for its Gothic Revival style and its clock tower. It was named in honor of St. Anthony of Padua a priest of the Franciscan Order, Portuguese preacher and theologian, venerated as a saint and Doctor of the Church by Catholicism. The structure was completed in 1932. The church is mainly used by foreign workers, mostly from the Philippines. On the north side of the church is the Terra Sancta high school. Religious services are offered in Arabic and English.

Ajami (Arabic: حي العجمي, Hebrew: עג'מי) is a predominantly Arab neighborhood in Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel, situated south of Old Jaffa and north of the Jabaliyya neighborhood on the Mediterranean Sea.

Jerusalem Boulevard, in Hebrew Sderot Yerushalayim (Hebrew: שדרות ירושלים), is a long historical avenue that crosses the city of Jaffa parallel to the shoreline a few hundred meters to the west, from the border of Tel Aviv to Bat Yam in the south (Sderot HaAtsma'ut) to the Yehezkel Kaufmann Street in the north, where it continues as a boulevard to the beach.

Yefet Street is one of the main streets of Jaffa and historical road from Old Jaffa to the south. It was named after Noah's son Japhet, founder of the city according to one legend. It links the Clock Square to Bat Yam, where it continues as Balfour Street. The street was once a way around the walls of old Jaffa, and after the demolition of the wall and the growth of the city, became a major commercial street. It was called "Ajami Street", after Ibrahim al-Ajami, the Persian companion of the Prophet. It was part of a road between Jaffa and Gaza. Its bridge over Yehuda Hyamit Street bridge was built during the British Mandate.

The Jaffa riots (commonly known in Hebrew: מאורעות תרפ"א, romanized: Me'oraot Tarpa) were a series of violent riots in Mandatory Palestine on May 1–7, 1921, which began as a fight between two Jewish groups but developed into an attack by Arabs on Jews. The rioting began in Jaffa and spread to other parts of the country. The riot resulted in the deaths of 47 Jews and 48 Arabs, 146 Jews and 73 Arabs were wounded, and hundreds more were made homeless.

Collège des Frères de Jaffa (Hebrew: קולג' דה פרר; Arabic: مدرسة الفرير في يافا) is a French international school on Yefet Street #23 in Jaffa, a district of Tel Aviv. A part of the La Sallian educational institutions, it opened in 1882. Originally it was in the Mutasarrifate of Jerusalem, Ottoman Empire, before being in the British Mandate of Palestine; currently it is in Israel. Hosting one of six French international high school programs in Israel, it serves levels maternelle (preschool) through terminale (final year of high school), with quatrième through terminale under the AEFE. This affiliation ensures that students receive a high-standard French education, preparing them for the French baccalauréat and offering them opportunities to continue their studies in France or other French-speaking countries.

Jaffa, in Hebrew Yafo (Hebrew: יָפוֹ, Yāfō ) and in Arabic Yafa (Arabic: يَافَا) and also called Japho or Joppa, the southern and oldest part of Tel Aviv-Yafo, is an ancient port city in Israel. Jaffa is famous for its association with the biblical stories of Jonah, Solomon and Saint Peter as well as the mythological story of Andromeda and Perseus, and later for its oranges. Today, Jaffa is one of Israel's mixed cities, with approximately 37% of the city being Arab.

The Tabeetha School is a school on Yefet Street #21 in Jaffa, a district of Tel Aviv, Israel, run by the Church of Scotland which "welcomes all children regardless of race, nationality, gender or religion". It was founded in 1863.
