Disentis/Mustér railway station

Disentis Abbey (German: Reichskloster Disentis) is a Benedictine monastery in the Canton of Grisons in eastern Switzerland, around which the present town of Disentis (Romansh: Mustér) grew up.

Cadi (), the Sursilvan for "House of God" (Casa Dei), is the historical name of Disentis Abbey and its feudal territories, later part of the Grey League. The territories in the upper Anterior Rhine valley (Surselva) were given to Disentis Abbey, and thus removed from the direct rule of Raetia Curiensis, by Tello, Bishop of Chur (d. 765). The territory was divided into Sursassiala ("above the gorge", referring to Punt Russein) and Sutsassiala ("below the gorge"). Sursassiala comprised the modern municipalities of Disentis/Mustér, Medel (Lucmagn) and Tujetsch (the latter containing the upper reaches of the Anterior Rhine, with no permanent settlements until the 9th century), Sutsassiala included Sumvitg, Trun and Breil/Brigels. The subjects of Disentis Abbey first used their own seal in 1285. They had their own Landammann (mistral) from 1371. Cadi became an autonomous commune (cumin grond) of the Grey League in 1401. From 1472, the mistral was elected from a ticket of three candidates proposed by the abbot, from the 17th century in free elections. Until 1851, Cadi was divided into four jurisdictions (cuorts) Disentis, Tujetsch, Brigels with Medel, and Trun with Sumvitg. During 1738–1745, the communes of Cadi purchased their freedom from tithes to the abbey. Cadi as a feudal territory was formally dissolved with the formation of the Canton of Raetia, in 1799, but its organisational structure was preserved until 1851, with two votes in the diet of the Grey League, and from 1803 between two and five representatives in the cantonal legislature of Grisons. The new cantonal constitution of 1851 abandoned the courts, establishing the modern municipalities, forming the Circul da Cadi (Kreis Disentis) within Vorderrhein District (1851–2000), briefly Surselva District (2001–2016), and since 2017 within Surselva Region.

The Rein da Medel (Italian: Reno di Medel; German: Medelser Rhein) is the longest headwater of the Rhine. It is located in the Swiss cantons of Ticino and Graubünden and flows through the valleys Val Cadlimo and Val Medel. Rein da Medel is the local Sursilvan, (i.e. Romansh) name in Graubünden, which is commonly used to denote the ticinese part as well.The most important place along the river is the village Curaglia in the municipality of Medel.

Acla da Fontauna railway station (German: Bahnhof Acla da Fontauna) is a railway station in the municipality of Disentis/Mustér, in the Swiss canton of Grisons. It is an intermediate stop on the 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) gauge Furka Oberalp line of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn.

Mustér or Disentis (German)(, Romansh), with its official name Disentis/Mustér is a village and a municipality in the Surselva Region in the Swiss canton of Grisons. The skiing and summer tourism resort high up in the Rhine valley is the site of one of the oldest Benedictine monasteries in Switzerland. The monastery dates back to 720, its huge current complex dates from 1696 to 1712.

Mumpé Tujetsch railway station (German: Bahnhof Mumpé Tujetsch) is a railway station in the municipality of Disentis/Mustér, in the Swiss canton of Grisons. It is an intermediate stop on the 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) gauge Furka Oberalp line of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn.

Piz Alpetta (2,764 m) is a mountain of the Glarus Alps, located near Disentis in the canton of Graubünden. It lies at the eastern end of the chain east of Piz Cavardiras, between the Val Russein and the main Rhine valley.

Piz Cavardiras (or Brichlig) is a 2,964 metres high mountain in the Glarus Alps, located on the border between the cantons of Uri and Graubünden. The Cavardiras hut, owned by the Swiss Alpine Club, lies near the pass of Cavardiras on the north side.

Piz Muraun is a mountain of the Swiss Lepontine Alps, located near Disentis in the canton of Graubünden. It lies between the Val Medel and the Val Sumvitg.

Lag da Laus (Romansh) is a small lake within the municipality of Sumvitg in the Grisons, Switzerland. There is no real tributary to the lake and the outflow will disappear in the underground after some distance as the area consists of landslide debris. The area of the landslide can easily be spotted from the Disentis direction. Several hiking paths or mountain bike routes lead to the area. Some people swim on hot summer days although water temperature is less than 17 degrees Celsius. In the bottom of the valley a multi day hike leads along the river Rhine.

Cumpadials is the smallest of the four villages in the municipality of Sumvitg, Graubünden, Switzerland. It has a station on the Disentis - Reichenau line of the Rhätische Bahn railway.
