Ullevaal Stadion (Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈʉ̀lːəvɔɫ]) is an all-seater football stadium located in Oslo, Norway. It is the home ground of the Norway national football team, and the site of the Norwegian Cup Final. From its opening in 1926 to 2009 it was the home ground of FK Lyn and from 1999 to 2017 was a home ground of Vålerenga IF. With a capacity of approximately 28,000, it is the largest football stadium in Norway. The national stadium is fully owned by the Football Association of Norway (NFF). The stadium opened on 26 September 1926 as the home ground for Lyn and several other local teams. The first international match was played in 1927, and NFF started gradually purchasing part of the stadium company. The peak attendance dates from 1935, when 35,495 people saw Norway play Sweden. Since 1948, Ullevaal has hosted the finals of the Norwegian Football Cup, and in 1967 the Japp Stand was completed. A new renovation started with the completion of the single-tier West Stand in 1985, and continued with the two-tier North and East Stands in 1990 and the South Stand in 1998. Ullevaal hosted the finals of the UEFA Women's Euro in 1987 and 1997. In conjunction with the stadium is the head office of many sports federations, a bandy field, and commercial property including a conference center, hotel and shopping mall. The stadium is located adjacent to Ullevål Stadion Station of the Oslo Metro and the Ring 3 motorway. Plans call to replace the West Stand to increase capacity to 30,000 and perhaps add a retractable roof and artificial turf.

The Centre for Development and the Environment (Norwegian: Senter for utvikling og miljø, SUM) is a research institute which is part of the University of Oslo. Its focus areas are international development and environmental studies.

Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (Norwegian: Norges geotekniske institutt, NGI) is an independent international centre for research and consultancy in engineering-related geosciences, integrating geotechnical, geological and geophysical expertise. NGI is a national centre for geotechnical research and development. The research and development is conductet within geotechnics and associated disciplines create results in the form of new expertise, new methods and new technology, with expertise within material properties, modelling and analysis, and instrumentation and monitoring. NGI's strength lies in the expertise of its personnel working in collaboration with clients and partners.NGI is also the host of the International Centre for Geohazards (ICG), one of Norway's first Centres of Excellence (CoE). NGI's partners are NORSAR, the Norwegian Geological Survey (NGU), the University of Oslo (UiO) and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).

The International Centre for Geohazards (ICG) is a Norwegian, multidisciplinary research and educational institute, hosted at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI). According to the institute's website, ICG's research activities focus on the assessment, prevention and mitigation of geohazards, in which the latter is defined as a geological state that represents or has the potential to develop further in a situation leading to damage or uncontrolled risk. From this definition, it becomes clear that geohazards are widespread, both spatially and temporally, and are always related to geological conditions and processes in both offshore, coastal and onshore environments. The International Centre for Geohazards was established in 2002, and is a collaboration between the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute, NORSAR, the University of Oslo, and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim.

Ullevål stadion is a rapid transit station of the Oslo Metro's Sognsvann Line. It is situated between the Sogn and Ullevål Hageby neighborhoods of the Oslo, Norway, borough of Nordre Aker. Located 5.3 kilometers (3.3 mi) from Stortinget, the station is served by lines 4 and 5 of the metro, with a combined five-minute headway. Travel time to Stortinget is nine minutes. It is named for and serves Ullevaal Stadion, a football venue home to Vålerenga and the Norway national football team. The station opened on 10 October 1934 at the same times as the rest of the Sognsvann Line. The station received a major upgrade in 1993, in which it received longer platforms and an overpass. The new station was designed by Arne Henriksen. Since 2003 the Ring Line has branch off from the Sognsvann Line north of Ullevål stadion.

Ullevål Hageby is a residential area and garden city in borough Nordre Aker of Oslo, Norway. All housing in the area is part of the housing cooperative Oslo Havebyselskap. The area borders on Ullevål University Hospital to the east, Blindern in the west, and Berg to the north.

Sogn Upper Secondary School (Norwegian: Sogn videregående skole) was an upper secondary school at Ullevål in Oslo, Norway. The school was established as Sogn vocational school in 1961. For several years Sogn was Norway's largest Upper Secondary School. In 2013 the school was disestablished and the educational programs was for the most part moved to Kuben Upper Secondary School, at Kuben Vocational Arena.

Sogn Studentby (English: Sogn Student Village) is a residential area for students, located in the district of Nordre Aker, Oslo.

John Colletts plass (John Collett's Square) is a light rail tram stop on the Oslo Tramway. Located in Ullevål Hageby in Nordre Aker borough, it was opened in 1925 as the terminus of the Ullevål Hageby Line. The name was given in 1938. In 1999 the line was extended to Rikshospitalet.The most prominent building at the square is the former Ullevål Cinema. It was closed as a cinema in 1964, but is now used for lectures at the University of Oslo. The university campus is located a few hundred metres west of John Colletts plass.

Vestgrensa (originally Ullevål Haveby) was a light rail station on the Sognsvann Line of the Oslo Metro in Norway. It opened on 10 October 1934, and was located between Blindern and Ullevål stadion stations. The station was rebuilt when the Sognsvann Line was upgraded from light rail to metro standard in the early 1990s. It was closed on 22 August 1999, when it was replaced by the new station Forskningsparken.

Berg is a station on the Sognsvann Line (line 6) of the Oslo Metro in Norway. Located between Ullevål stadion and Tåsen stations, it is the first station after the Ring Line leaves the Sognsvann Line. The station is located 6.1 kilometres (3.8 mi) from Stortinget station. Berg is amongst the original stations on the line, and was opened on 10 October 1934. It was upgraded and rebuilt in the 1990s, when the Sognsvann Line was upgraded from light rail to rapid transit standard. Three accidents have taken place at Berg station, the latest in 2008. The area around the station is mainly residential. Berg Upper Secondary School is located approximately 100 metres (330 ft) from the station.

Berg is a neighbourhood in the west side of Oslo. It is located in the borough Nordre Aker, and is surrounded by the neighbourhoods Nordberg in the north, Tåsen in the east and Ullevål Hageby in the southwest. Berg is named after an abandoned farm with the same name. Berg is mainly a residential area, and is served by the station Berg on the Sognsvann Line.
