Upfield, Victoria

Upfield railway station is the terminus of the suburban electrified Upfield line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the northern Melbourne suburb of Campbellfield, and it opened on 8 October 1889 as North Campbellfield. It closed on 13 July 1903, reopened on 5 March 1928, closed again on 5 May 1956, and was reopened again on 17 August 1959 as Upfield.

Dallas is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 17 km (11 mi) north of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Hume local government area. Dallas recorded a population of 6,762 at the 2021 census.Dallas is bounded by Barry Road in the north, the Upfield railway line in the east, Geach Street, Terang Street, Tempy Court, Dallas Drive and Riggall Street in the south, and the Craigieburn/North East railway line in the west.

The Broadmeadows Assembly Plant was a Ford Australia automobile factory in Campbellfield, Melbourne. It spanned 45 acres (18 ha) and as at 2011, employed 2,088 workers. It opened in 1959.In 1973, there was a large strike by mostly migrant workers over unsafe and unsanitary working conditions, and Ford's refusal to hire more workers, including a ban on female workers. The strikers fought off police and even managed to force their union to endorse them. This strike was notable due to the huge outpour of community support, with the Glaziers Union refusing to fix broken windows, doctors opening free clinics and the local Greek Orthodox Church donating to strike funds. It succeeded in its aims. There was a second strike in 1981 called by local members of the Vehicle Builders Employees Federation, but this time, federal Union members moved to shut it down swiftly. The Broadmeadows Assembly Plant closed on 7 October 2016 after Ford ceased manufacturing in Australia. The site was sold to the Pelligra Group in 2019 who intend to redevelop it as an industrial estate as Assembly Broadmeadows.

Campbellfield is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 13 km (8.1 mi) north of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Hume local government area. Campbellfield recorded a population of 4,977 at the 2021 census.

Scots Uniting Church, Campbellfield is a heritage-listed building at 1702 Hume Highway, Campbellfield, Victoria, Australia. It was added to the Victorian Heritage Register on 9 October 1974.It has one of the four remaining churchyards in Victoria.

The Meadows Greyhounds is one of two metropolitan Greyhound racing tracks located in the Australian state of Victoria. The track is positioned within an industrial estate in the north western Melbourne suburb of Broadmeadows. The Meadows is one of 13 greyhound tracks located in Victoria; it has races on Saturday nights (Metropolitan meetings) and Wednesday days (Provincial meetings).

Ilim College, formerly known as Islamic College North Western Region, was established in 1995 to provide Islamic education. Ilim College is a prep to year 12 VCE co-educational, private Islamic school. It is located in Dallas, Victoria, Australia. They recently purchased the Yorolla school on Box Forest Rd, Glenroy as an extension campus. A campus in Doveton was purchased by 2014. The school is owned by the non-profit organisation Millî Görüş, which aims at catering for the religious, educational, cultural and social needs of the Muslim community.

Maygar Army Barracks is located in Broadmeadows, Victoria. It was the training area for the Australian Light Horse during World War I. The barracks was named after Victoria Cross winner Leslie Maygar, who received the award for his actions during the Second Boer War 1901 and later assisted in establishing the base in 1914. He was subsequently killed during the Battle of Beersheba in 1917.The Melbourne Immigration Transit Accommodation facility was built on part of the site in 2008 using the former officer's mess.

Melbourne Immigration Transit Accommodation (MITA) is an Australian immigration detention centre in the Melbourne suburb of Broadmeadows. It was built on part of the Maygar Barracks site. It is operated by Serco under contract to the Australian Border Force.When it was constructed in 2008, it provided short-term hostel-style accommodation using the former officer's mess. It has since been extended, including a high-security compound opened in 2018. The high-security compound replaced the Maribyrnong Immigration Detention Centre which was closed at the end of 2018.

979fm (call sign: 3RIM) is a radio station based in the city of Melton, Victoria and is run by 3RIM Incorporated. The station's broadcast area covers the entire span of western and north western Melbourne, and has been known to stretch as far as Phillip Island in the Gippsland region, about 180 kilometres away from Melton. The organisation was incorporated on 13 September 1985, making it one of the oldest community radio stations in Victoria. The station is manned and operated fully by volunteers from all age groups, backgrounds and ethnicities. From 29 June 1991, to 1 July 2012 3RIM/979fm were based at Mowbray College's Patterson Campus. The College closed after going into voluntary administration in June 2012 leading to 979fm relocating. After broadcasting from a temporary location for 13 months the station began broadcasting from their new studios at Victoria University, Melton South on Tuesday 6 August 2013.

Northern Metropolitan Region is one of the eight electoral regions of Victoria, Australia, which elects five members to the Victorian Legislative Council (also referred to as the upper house) by proportional representation. The region was created in 2006 following the 2005 reform of the Victorian Legislative Council. Coolaroo railway station is located on the Craigieburn line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the northern Melbourne suburb of Coolaroo, and it opened on 6 June 2010.
