Stillwater Bridge (Hudson River, New York)

Stillwater is a village in Saratoga County, New York, United States. The population was 1,738 at the 2010 census. There is a hamlet in Minerva, Essex County with the same name, which has nothing to do with this village. The Village of Stillwater is in the southeastern part of the Town of Stillwater, north of the City of Mechanicville.

Stillwater United Church, formerly known as Second Baptist Church, is a historic church at 135 Hudson Avenue in Stillwater, Saratoga County, New York. It was designed by architect Marcus F. Cummings and built in 1873. It has a rectangular, gable roofed sanctuary above a raised basement of cut limestone blocks in an early Romanesque or Northern Italianate style. It features an engaged brick bell tower culminating in a belfry and topped by a tall spire. A two-story brick education wing was added in 1952.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The Hoosic River, also known as the Hoosac, the Hoosick (primarily in New York) and the Hoosuck (mostly archaic), is a 76.3-mile-long (122.8 km) tributary of the Hudson River in the northeastern United States. The different spellings are the result of varying transliterations of the river's original Algonquian name. It can be translated either as "the beyond place" (as in beyond, or east of, the Hudson) or as "the stony place" (perhaps because the river's stony bottom is usually exposed except in spring, or perhaps because local soils are so stony).

Knickerbocker Mansion is a historic home located at Schaghticoke in Rensselaer County, New York. The property was occupied by the Knickerbocker family for nearly 250 years, from about 1707 until 1946. The mansion was built by Johannes Knickerbacker III around 1770. It was acquired in 1964 by the Knickerbocker Historical Society and is operated as a local history museum. The Knickerbocker Historical Society (KHS) have almost entirely restored the mansion. The Knickerbocker Mansion grounds were the location of the “Witenagemot Oak,” planted in 1676 to commemorate the signing of a treaty between New York governor Edmund Andros and the local Mahican people and native refugees from King Philip's War. The oak stood until 1948.The house was built about 1770 and is a 2+1⁄2-story, rectangular brick building. It has a hipped roof, covered in slate, that curves slightly at the eaves. The front facade once featured a one-bay, pedimented entrance portico. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

The Mechanicville Bridge (also known as the Hemstreet Park Bridge) carries New York State Route 67 across the Hudson River in New York connecting Mechanicville with Hemstreet Park in the Town of Schaghticoke. The bridge was built in 1950 as a replacement for a structure privately built as a toll bridge in 1888, and is referred to by some as the Champlain Canal Bridge.

St. Paul the Apostle Church is a historic Catholic church in the city of Mechanicville, New York, United States of America. It is presently part of the parish of All Saints on the Hudson.

The name is derived from the occupations of early residents.The city is located on the eastern border of Saratoga County and is north of Albany, the state capital. Mechanicville borders the towns of Stillwater (of which it was once a part) and Halfmoon in the county, and the town of Schaghticoke, Rensselaer County.

Col. Elmer E. Ellsworth Monument and Grave is a historic site within Hudson View Cemetery in Mechanicville, New York. The monument to Elmer E. Ellsworth, the first Union officer casualty of the American Civil War, was built in 1874 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. In 1997 the 300 pounds (140 kg) bronze eagle was stolen from the top of the monument. The eagle was recognized and returned by an antique dealer in 1998.

Mechanicville Jr./Sr. High School is a school located in Halfmoon, New York The school is part of the Mechanicville City School district and serves the district's sixth through 12th grades. In 2011, a merger occurred between the high school and the middle school causing the school to now be known as Mechanicville Jr./Sr. High School.
