Köln Trimbornstraße station

Kalk Post is an underground station on the Cologne Stadtbahn lines 1 and 9, located in Cologne. The station lies at the intersection of Kalker Hauptstraße and Trimbornstraße in the district of Kalk. Köln-Trimbornstraße station is located some 200m to the south. The station was opened in 1980 and consists of a mezzanine and two side platforms with two rail tracks.

Chemische Fabrik Kalk (CFK) (lit. Chemical Factory Kalk) was a German chemicals company based in Kalk, a city district of Cologne. The company was founded in 1858 as Chemische Fabrik Vorster & Grüneberg, Cöln by Julius Vorster and Hermann Julius Grüneberg and was renamed to Chemische Fabrik Kalk GmbH in 1892. At times the company was the second-largest German producer of soda ash and was, with almost 2400 employees, one of the largest employers in Cologne. For decades the chimneys and the water tower of the factory dominated the skyline of Cologne-Kalk. In 1960 the company was acquired by the Salzdetfurth AG, which was later renamed into Kali und Salz (nowadays K+S) and became a subsidiary of BASF. All production facilities of the former Chemische Fabrik Kalk were closed in 1993, and the name Chemische Fabrik Kalk since then exists only as the name of a wholesale subsidiary of K+S. The factory was demolished and after the decontamination of the premises the new Cologne police departments headquarters and the Köln Arcaden shopping mall were built on the former factory premises.

It was created from a merger of numerous smaller colleges, the oldest of which was the Royal Provincial Trade School, founded in 1833, and renamed Trade College of the City of Cologne on 15 December 1879. TH Köln is the largest University of Applied Sciences in Germany by number of students, having about 27,000 students and 430 professors and headquartered in Cologne Südstadt. The TH Köln offers a total of 100 bachelor's and master's degree programs in full. The other big universities of Cologne are the University of Cologne and the German Sport University Cologne.

Deutzer Friedhof is a cemetery in Cologne, Germany. The famous chemist Kurt Alder is buried here. He is known for his work on the Diels–Alder reaction and synthesizing the biological insecticide Aldrin. The cemetery is surrounded by much local superstition; many claim it to be the site of frequent visits from der Teufel in animal form. This is mainly incited due to the often spotted herd of German Lop-Eared Rabbits found inside the cemetery accompanied by the smell of rotting flesh. No evidence has been found to support these claims, yet many reports have been sent to local officials.

Lanxess Arena (originally Kölnarena, German for Cologne Arena) is an indoor arena, in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is known as the 18,500-capacity home of the Kölner Haie. The arena opened in 1998 and can accommodate 20,000 people for concerts. With its capacity of 18,500, it is the largest ice hockey arena outside North America. It is primarily used by Kölner Haie (ice hockey), VfL Gummersbach (handball), Köln RheinStars (basketball), and as a concert venue. The arena is spanned by a steel arch supporting the roof via steel cables. The height of the arch is 76 m (249 ft) and its weight is 480 tons. On June 2, 2008, it was announced that Kölnarena would be renamed Lanxess Arena, for a period of ten years. The sponsor, Lanxess AG, is a specialty chemicals group based in the Lanxess Tower in Deutz, Cologne.

Jüdischer Friedhof Deutz is a cemetery in Cologne, Germany. Founded in 1695, it is the oldest Jewish cemetery in the district of Cologne. Last burial took place during the Second World War in 1941.

Centrum Schwule Geschichte e. V. (meaning: Gay History Centre), abbreviated CSG, is a German "LGBT" organization based in Cologne (Köln). CSG maintains a publicly open library and archive, both relating to the history of homosexuality and activism in Germany, with a focus on the homosexual subcultures of Cologne and the Rhineland. Historic documents reach back as far as the 1230s, but it has a more comprehensive inventory on magazines and other publications from the 20th century. Centrum Schwule Geschichte also organizes exhibitions, lectures and other presentations, while CSG's work has also been published in books and magazines. Invertito - Jahrbuch für die Geschichte der Homosexualitäten (Annual For The History Of Homosexualities) is co-owned by the organization. The organisation was established in 1984 and maintains an office in the district of Kalk; its predecessor were the Rheinisches Schwulenarchiv and the Arbeitskreis schwule Geschichte.

Photokina (rendered in the promoters' branding as "photokina") is a trade fair held in Europe for the photographic and imaging industries. It is the world's largest such trade fair. The first Photokina was held in Cologne, Germany, in 1950, and since 1966 it has been held biennially in September at the koelnmesse Trade Fair and Exhibition Centre in Deutz. The final Photokina under the then-current biennial cycle took place in 2018. Initially, the promoters planned to start a new annual cycle in 2019, with future shows to be held in May, but they later decided not to begin the new annual cycle until 2020. The worldwide outbreak of the Coronavirus disease 2019 and its effect on the imaging industry made koelnmesse decide to cancel both Photokina 2020 and Photokina 2021. Many photographic and imaging companies introduce and showcase state of the art imaging products at Photokina.
