UPS Airlines Flight 6 was a cargo flight operated by UPS Airlines. On September 3, 2010, the Boeing 747-400F flying the route between Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Cologne, Germany, developed an in-flight fire, which caused the aircraft to crash, killing both crew members, the only people on board. It was the first fatal air crash for UPS Airlines. The crash prompted a re-evaluation of safety procedures protecting airliners from cockpit smoke.

Elite Towers is a cluster of 34 towers located in the City of Arabia in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Currently, there are a few towers that are under construction; all others are approved. The tallest tower in the complex has a height of 290 m (951 ft). The number of floors for the towers range from 30 to 60. The towers in the complex consist of residential, office and hotel towers. The whole complex is a development by Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari Group.

City of Arabia is a US$20 billion retail, residential, commercial and entertainment destination lying at the gateway to Dubailand, United Arab Emirates. It is also located in Wadi Al Safa 4 Some parts of this project are being built. Its four key elements are Mall of Arabia, one of the world's largest malls; IMG Worlds of Adventure; Wadi Walk, a water front community with stylish apartments, outdoor cafes and attractive retail outlets; and Elite Towers, a group of 34 impressive commercial and residential buildings. Another planned development as of 2005 was Restless Planet, a theme park with attractions portraying the environment and creatures of the Mesozoic Era.A self-contained community designed to minimise the use of cars, City of Arabia will be served by its own monorail system which will transport residents and visitors to and from a designated Dubai Metro station and around the site. With a total of 8,200 residential components, City of Arabia will, on completion, have 32,800 residents and a catchment area containing 1.87 million people.

Mall of Arabia is a planned shopping mall; it will be a part of the City of Arabia in the Dubailand theme park premises in Dubai. Original announcements said it would be completed in 2008. Following the collapse of the Dubai real-estate market, the mall's opening has been delayed. In 2016, in favor of IMG Worlds of Adventure's opening date, it was announced that the mall will be revived within 10 years. According to the developers the 10 million square-foot mall will contain more than 1,000 retail outlets, a rooftop hotel, waterfront dining and entertainment, a theme park, an earth science museum, and a planetarium. It also will contain its own monorail system linked with the Dubai Metro along with a two-story underground parking garage capable of holding 10,400 vehicles.

Zayed University (ZU; Arabic: جامعة زايد) is a public university based in the United Arab Emirates. It was established in 1998. It is one of the three government-sponsored higher education institutions in the United Arab Emirates. It is named in honor of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the country's first president.Achieving accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education in the US, it became the first federal university in the UAE to be internationally accredited. ZU offers 17 majors and 10 minors at undergraduate level and 10 master's degrees. The university has eight colleges: College of Arts and Creative Enterprises, College of Business, College of Communication and Media Sciences, College of Education, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Natural and Health Sciences, College of Technological Innovation, and college of interdisciplinary studies.

Skycourts Towers is a project by National Bonds Corporation PJSC located within the Dubailand Residence Complex in Dubai. The AED 1.6 billion development offers 2,836 apartments across 6 towers. Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) introduced the route between Dubai Mall Metro Station and the nearby area.

Dubai Silicon Oasis known as DSO (Arabic: واحة دبي للسيليكون) is a free-trade zone established by the Dubai government in 2003, spanning an area of 7.2 square kilometers. It is located in the community of Nadd Hessa.

The Emirates Soil Museum opened on 8 December 2016, with the support of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development in improving the technology and interior and exterior exhibits. Since its launch, the museum has had 3,000 visitors from various backgrounds. The museum attempts to engage its visitors through knowledge dissemination, workshops, and student field trips that involved them stepping out into nature and collecting data on soil, water and soil biodiversity as well as hands-on activities, science experiments, analysis and projects. The recommendation was made after the completion of the first phase of the UAE Soil Mapping Project which was a 10-year project that included extensive and intensive soil analysis completed in collaboration with EAD and the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (Ministry of Environment and Water at the time). This project produced the UAE Soil Maps, Abu Dhabi Soil Survey Books, Northern Emirates Soil Survey Books, United Arab Emirates Keys to Soil Taxonomy and the addition of a new soil sub group called Anhydrite, which was officially recognized in 2014 in the updated edition of the US Keys to Soil Taxonomy.

Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (abbreviated HBMSU; formerly Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University) is the first smart university in the United Arab Emirates, established in 2002. The President of the university is the Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Being the first e-learning institute in the UAE, its working model has paved the way for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR), UAE to design standards for accreditation for an e-learning institution. Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) follows in its delivery of learning a blended learning. These methods may include a mixture of face-to-face classrooms, online classrooms, and self-paced learning. The student-centered environment at the university is reflected in the support offered to learners with automated pre-enrolment and admissions support, e-virtual communities and learners' clubs, and additional learning resources such as the Library, e-Career, and Placement Services, using the ICT technologies to communicate with learners across the globe. Its flagship virtual learning environment, Smart Campus [1] won the 2015 Wharton-QS Stars Reimagine Education Awards.The university is based on the paradigm of Lifelong Learning model providing all of its professional programs through certification routes to progress through a career path in multiple sectors including quality and business management, banking, healthcare, environment, smart learning, and e-education.

Dubailand was an entertainment complex planned to be built in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which was owned by Tatweer (which belongs to Dubai Holding). When announced in 2003 it was one of the most ambitious leisure developments ever proposed anywhere in the world costing $64.3 billion, but development has been severely impacted by global recession and Dubai's financial crisis. The development was put on hold in 2008 but resumed in mid-2013. Updates in 2013 showed that $55 billion had been raised towards the works. No updates have been released since then. The project is likely cancelled, although Dubailand has since become the name of an entertainment district in Dubai where some of the planned projects for the Dubailand complex have since opened.

The master plan of Jumeirah Garden City refers to the re-development of a 9,000,000-square-metre (97,000,000 sq ft) land area, conceptualized to be a part of the 2015 strategic plan for Dubai. The development consists of 12 districts with an envision built up area of 14,000,000 square metres (150,000,000 sq ft). The Jumeirah Garden City aims to cater to a population of 50,000 to 60,000 residents. The project will cost approximately Dh350 billion (approx. $95bn). The announcement of the project coincided with the global financial crisis, and the construction of the project was put on hold due to global financial crisis.

Lycée Français International Georges Pompidou (LFIGP; Arabic: الیسة اﻟﻔرﻧﺳﯾﺔ الدولیة جورج بومبیو) is a French international school with campuses in Dubai and Sharjah. It serves levels maternelle, through lycée (senior high school). As of the 2013–2014 school year the school had a total of 2,400 students.
