Zabriskie-Christie House

Palisades Township was a township that existed in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The township was in existence from 1871 to 1922. On March 22, 1871, Hackensack Township was divided into three parts that were incorporated as townships by the New Jersey Legislature, each stretching from the Hudson River on the east to the Hackensack River in the west: The northernmost portion was Palisades Township; The center strip was Englewood Township; and, The southernmost portion became Ridgefield Township.The new Township was quickly subdivided. The implementation by the New Jersey Legislature of a new Borough Act served to encourage the creation of new municipalities, most formed from portions of two (or more) Townships. Palisades Township survived for a half century after this new legislation, and the case of "Boroughitis" it fomented. In 1894, five boroughs were created from within Palisades Township (and portions of other townships, as indicated): Tenafly (January 24, 1894), Delford (March 8, 1894, now Oradell; also included portions of Harrington Township), Cresskill (May 11, 1894), Bergenfield (June 26, 1894, also created from portions of Englewood Township) and Schraalenburgh (July 20, 1894, changed name to Dumont in 1928; also included portions of Harrington Township). On May 10, 1895, Englewood Cliffs was created from sections of both Englewood Township and Palisades Township. Demarest was formed on April 8, 1903, from portions of both Palisades and Harrington Townships.On March 7, 1898, portions of the Borough of Schraalenburgh were annexed to the township.On March 11, 1922, New Milford was formed from the remaining portions of Palisades Township. With the creation of the Borough of New Milford, Palisades Township was dissolved.

South Schraalenburgh Church, also known as South Presbyterian Church, was founded 1723 in Bergenfield, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States, as a Dutch Reformed church, as an alternative place of worship, as the nearest church was located in Hackensack. The square sanctuary was completed in 1728, with a new sanctuary (still currently in use) completed in 1799. Opposing elements within the congregation split with the mainstream and founded the North Schraalenburgh Reformed Church in 1801. In 1913 the church joined the Presbyterian Church, and changed their name to the South Presbyterian Church.

Dumont High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school that serves students in ninth through twelfth grade from Dumont, in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States, operating as the lone secondary school of the Dumont Public Schools. The school operates under the authority of the New Jersey Department of Education and has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1939.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 764 students and 65.1 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.7:1. There were 42 students (5.5% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 5 (0.7% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Art Center of Northern New Jersey is a fine arts school and gallery offering art classes to the general public. It was founded in 1956, and is located on the premises of the old Lutheran Church in New Milford, New Jersey, United States. The Art Center took over the building after the current Lutheran Church St Matthew's received its new home across the road. The facility caters to adult and children wishing to get schooled in fine art. In addition to painting and photo studios the center can boast that it is the only place in the area which has a stone sculpture studio' with pneumatic equipment." It also has a fully equipped printmaking studio supported by two Charles Brand presses, darkroom and high-intensity light table for photo-based platemaking.The Art Center offers a full year-round program. Classes are taught by skilled professionals in drawing, painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media), photography, print making, and sculpture in stone and wood. Instructors monitor and teach life drawing and painting sessions. The facility sponsors four affiliate groups of artists: painters, sculptors, watercolorists, and print makers. The Center's gallery program hosts local and national level exhibits on its premises in the Marcella Geltman Gallery.

Schraalenburgh North Church, also known as North Church and as The Old North Reformed Church or Old Reformed Church, was founded in 1801 as a Dutch Reformed Church, in present-day Dumont, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The congregation was made up of those who originally were members of the South Schraalenburgh Church.The cemetery contains burials of parishioners up to 1911, and a list of interments has been transcribed on the Internet by Bob Winship. As "North Church", the church was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 26, 1983.

Tunis R. Cooper House is located in Bergenfield, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The house was built in 1802 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 6, 1995. The house is named after Tunis R. Cooper, a tycoon who made chairs in a factory located on the same property. The borough acquired the building sometime after 2002. It included a preservation easement stating it was to be used as a museum and now houses Bergenfield Museum Society.

Derick Banta House is a historic house located in Dumont, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The house was built in 1780 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 9, 1983.

South Church Manse is a historic church parsonage at 138 W. Church Street in Bergenfield, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. It was built in 1861 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

New Milford is a borough in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 16,923, an increase of 582 (+3.6%) from the 2010 census count of 16,341, which in turn reflected a decline of 59 (−0.4%) from the 16,400 counted in the 2000 census.New Milford was authorized to be incorporated as a borough on March 11, 1922, from what remained of Palisades Township, subject to approval in a referendum (which took place on April 18, 1922). With the creation of New Milford, Palisades Township (which had been created in 1871) was dissolved. The borough is believed to have been named for Milford, Pennsylvania.

Dumont is a borough in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 17,863, an increase of 384 (+2.2%) from the 2010 census count of 17,479, which in turn reflected a decrease of 24 (−0.1%) from the 17,503 counted in the 2000 census.The borough was originally formed on July 20, 1891, as the Borough of Schraalenburgh from portions of Harrington Township and Palisades Township, based on the results of a referendum held the previous day. The borough was formed during the "Boroughitis" phenomenon then sweeping through Bergen County, in which 26 boroughs were formed in the county in 1894 alone. On March 7, 1898, portions of the borough were annexed to Palisades Township. On June 13, 1898, the borough's name was changed to Dumont in honor of Dumont Clarke, the borough's first mayor.
