The statue of Anne Frank on the Westermarkt in Amsterdam is a statue of the German-Jewish girl Anne Frank, who died at the age of fifteen during the Holocaust. Through her diary, Anne Frank has become a worldwide symbol of the victims of the Holocaust. The statue was designed in 1975 by Mari Andriessen and unveiled in 1977 by the Mayor of Amsterdam, Ivo Samkalden, and Otto Frank, Anne Frank's father. At the unveiling, similarities were noted with the statue of Anne Frank in Utrecht by Pieter d'Hont. In both statues, Anne Frank stands proudly with her hands behind her back. While d'Hont depicted Anne Frank with her feet firmly on the ground, Andriessen portrayed her as the young woman she wanted to be but could never become. The monogram of Andriessen (MA) is inscribed on the pedestal. The statue was commissioned by Contact Publishing, the publisher of The Diary of Anne Frank, and donated to the city of Amsterdam. The Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem holds both a standing and a seated preliminary design of the statue. The statue is located in front of the southern side wall of the Westerkerk. It is thus on the opposite side of the Westerkerk from the Anne Frank House. In July 2024, the statue was defaced by pro-Palestinian activists. Another statue of Anne Frank is located at Merwedeplein near her childhood home, where she lived for over eight years before going into hiding with her family.

The Anne Frank House (Dutch: Anne Frank Huis) is a writer's house and biographical museum dedicated to Jewish wartime diarist Anne Frank. The building is located on a canal called the Prinsengracht, close to the Westerkerk, in central Amsterdam in the Netherlands. During World War II, Anne Frank hid from Nazi persecution with her family and four other people in hidden rooms, in the rear building, of the 17th-century canal house, later known as the Secret Annex (Dutch: Achterhuis). She did not survive the war but her wartime diary was published in 1947. Ten years later the Anne Frank Foundation was established to protect the property from developers who wanted to demolish the block. The museum opened on 3 May 1960. It preserves the hiding place, has a permanent exhibition on the life and times of Anne Frank, and has an exhibition space about all forms of persecution and discrimination. In 2013 and 2014, the museum had 1.2 million visitors and was the 3rd most visited museum in the Netherlands, after the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum.

The Homomonument is a memorial in the centre of Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. It commemorates all gay men and lesbians who have been persecuted because of their sexual orientation. Opened on 5 September 1987, it was the first monument in the world to commemorate gays and lesbians who were killed by the Nazis.The monument takes the form of three large pink triangles made of granite, set into the ground, which together compose a larger triangle. It is on the bank of the Keizersgracht canal, near the historic Westerkerk church. The Homomonument was designed to "inspire and support lesbians and gays in their struggle against denial, oppression and discrimination." During the Netherlands' annual Remembrance Day ceremony on 4 May, wreaths are laid on the monument to commemorate LGBT victims of persecution. A day later, on Liberation Day, the monument becomes the site of a street party.

The Anne Frank tree (Dutch: Anne Frankboom or, incorrectly, Anne Frank boom) was a horse-chestnut tree (Aesculus hippocastanum) in the city center of Amsterdam that was featured in Anne Frank's The Diary of a Young Girl. Anne Frank described the tree from The Annexe, the building where she and her family were hiding from the Nazis during World War II. Over the years, the tree deteriorated significantly due to both a fungus and a moth infestation. The Borough Amsterdam Centrum declared that the tree had to be cut down on 20 November 2007 due to the risk that it could otherwise fall down. However, on 21 November 2007, a judge issued a temporary injunction stopping the removal. The Foundation and the neighbours developed an alternative plan to save the tree. The neighbours and supporters formed the Foundation Support Anne Frank Tree which carried out the suggested supporting construction and took over the maintenance of the tree. On 23 August 2010, the tree was blown down by high winds during a storm, breaking off approximately 1 metre (3 feet) above ground. It fell across a garden wall and damaged garden sheds but did not damage anything else. The tree was estimated to be between 150 and 170 years old.

The Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica brings together manuscripts and printed works in the field of Hermeticism, more specifically the 'Christian-Hermetic' tradition. It is located in the center of Amsterdam. The Embassy of the Free Mind is a museum, library, and intellectual platform inspired by the collection.

Amsterdam Tulip Museum (2004) ATM is a privately owned museum in Amsterdam. The museum features exhibits about Tulips. The museum is in a canal house, along the Prinsengracht canal.

The Coymanshuis is a canal house on the Keizersgracht 177, Amsterdam. The double wide house was designed and built in 1625 by Jacob van Campen for two brothers, traders/bankers; one had six the other ten children. Their company delt in silver, iron and tar. It is Van Campen's first design in Amsterdam and was an important stepping stone to gaining the commission for the Amsterdam City Hall, today the Royal Palace of Amsterdam. He designed it for Balthasar Coymans (1589 - 1657) and his brother Johannes Coymans (1601 - 1657). The house was praised by the writer-architects Cornelis Danckerts de Ry and Salomon de Bray in their book Architectura Moderna in 1631. They claimed that all visitors to the city should see this building if they appreciate architecture.The house and office was home to various members of the Coymans family until it was inhabited by Jan Pieter Theodoor Huydecoper in 1759. In 1780 it was inhabited by his nephew Jan Elias Huydecoper. In 1887 it was sold to the city of Amsterdam, serving for a long time as a secondary school and today it is an office building, sheltering Amnesty International, etc.

Astoria is a Jugendstil office building at Keizersgracht 174-176 in Amsterdam, built in 1904-1905 as the headquarters of the Eerste Hollandsche Levensverzekerings Bank insurance company. The building, at the intersection of the Keizersgracht and Leliegracht canals, served as the international headquarters of Greenpeace for 15 years. In 2001, it gained rijksmonument (national monument) status.

Restaurant Christophe is a defunct restaurant in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 1989 and retained that rating until 2006.In 2013, Gault Millau awarded the restaurant 14 out of 20 points.The star was gained under the leadership of the head chef Christophe Royer The last head chef is Jean-Joel Bonsens.Jean-Joel Bonsens and his business partner-sommelier Ellen Mansfield took over the restaurant in 2006. They closed down the restaurant in June 2014.

The Jordaan is a neighbourhood of the city of Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is part of the borough of Amsterdam-Centrum. The area is bordered by the Singelgracht canal and the neighbourhood of Frederik Hendrikbuurt to the west; the Prinsengracht to the east; the Brouwersgracht to the north and the Leidsegracht to the south. The former canal Rozengracht (now filled in) is the main traffic artery through the neighbourhood. Originally a working-class neighbourhood, the Jordaan has become one of the most expensive, upscale locations in the Netherlands. It is home to many art galleries, particularly for modern art, and is also dotted with speciality shops and restaurants. Markets are held regularly at Noordermarkt, the Westerstraat (the Lapjesmarkt textile market) and Lindengracht. Rembrandt spent the last years of his life in the Jordaan, on the Rozengracht canal. He was buried in the Westerkerk church, at the corner of Rozengracht and Prinsengracht, just beyond the Jordaan. The Anne Frank House, where Anne Frank went into hiding during World War II, is located on the edge of the Jordaan, on the Prinsengracht canal.

The Leliegracht (Lily Canal) is a canal in Amsterdam between Herengracht (no. 148 and 169) and Prinsengracht (no. 124 and 241). The canal lies within the west of the Grachtengordel (canal belt) in the Jordaan neighborhood of the Amsterdam-Centrum district .

Electric Ladyland is a museum located in the Jordaan area of Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is devoted to presenting art, minerals, and manufactured items that fluoresce under ultraviolet light. It opened on April 19, 1999 and was the first museum devoted to fluorescence.
