Wahneta is a census-designated place (CDP) in central Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 4,731 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Lakeland–Winter Haven Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Lake Region High School is a public high school located in Eagle Lake, Florida. It is operated by Polk County Public Schools, the countywide public school district. Lake Region High School (LRHS) opened August 14, 1995. Current enrollment is nearly 2000, with the senior class enrollment just over 300. LRHS serves the communities of Eagle Lake, South Winter Haven, North Bartow. The school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and the State of Florida Department of Education. LRHS shares some of its main campus layouts with George Jenkins High School in Lakeland, Florida. There are some newer facility enhancements that set the school apart. Perhaps the most noticeable is the stable for the school's equine mascot, Thunder (a white Spanish-Arabian horse). The school also has a separate freshman academy that was completed in 2010.

Eagle Lake is a city in Polk County, Florida, United States. It is part of the Lakeland–Winter Haven Metropolitan Statistical Area. Most of the town being centered around a subsection of U.S. Highway 17. The population was 3,008 as of 2020.

Legoland Florida Resort (stylized as LEGOLAND Florida Resort) is a vacation destination in Winter Haven, Florida. The resort features the Legoland Florida theme park itself, the Legoland Water Park, three on-site accommodations and a separately-ticketed on-site park based on the British children's animated series Peppa Pig that opened on February 24, 2022.Built on the site of the former Cypress Gardens theme park, Legoland preserved the botanical gardens and re-themed the water park and select attractions and venues to reflect various Lego brands.

Cypress Gardens was a botanical garden and theme park near Winter Haven, Florida that operated from 1936 to 2009. As of 2011, the botanical garden portion had been preserved inside the newly formed Legoland Florida.

Chain of Lakes Park is a baseball field in Winter Haven, Florida. The stadium was built in 1966 and holds 7,000 people. It was the spring training home of the Boston Red Sox from 1966 to 1992, after which the Red Sox moved operations to City of Palms Park in Fort Myers. In 1993, the Cleveland Indians moved into Chain of Lakes Park after their own stadium in Homestead was destroyed by Hurricane Andrew. The stadium served as Cleveland's spring training home until their last game on March 27, 2008. Cleveland moved their spring training operations to Goodyear Ballpark in Goodyear, Arizona in 2009. The future of the ballpark and facility is in doubt; its location on Lake Lulu has become valuable for commercial and residential development. In 2011, developers proposed a multipurpose redevelopment of the site, including hotels, restaurants, shops, and a movie theater. In December 2020, Winter Haven and Polk County agreed to demolish the stadium and replace it with baseball diamonds and general-purpose athletic fields.

Denison Field was a baseball field in Winter Haven, Florida. The stadium was built in 1928 with a wooden grandstand. It was the spring training home of the Philadelphia Phillies from 1928 to 1937, and the New York Giants in 1940. The field was located just west of the current site of the National Guard Armory at the intersection of Avenue C and Sixth St Southeast. The location is the current site of high school football field, Denison Stadium.The distance from home plate to the right field fence was "over 400 feet", and the distances to center and left field even greater.The Giants attracted 15,743 paying fans during sixteen games in 1940 and children were admitted free.

Winter Haven station is a train station in Winter Haven, Florida, served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system of the United States. It was originally built in 1925 by the Seaboard Air Line Railway, and was rebuilt in 1947. It included a freight depot which was located on the south side of the station until 1982, and was torn down after Seaboard Coast Line Railroad merged with Louisville and Nashville Railroad the next year. Today, after a series of mergers, the station track is owned by CSX Transportation. Tracks that cross the platform on the south side of the station serve as an interchange point between CSX Transportation and the Florida Midland Railroad Gordonville Subdivision.The station provides service 4 times daily on the northbound and southbound Silver Star and Silver Meteor lines.
