Alcove Historic District

Alcove is a hamlet in the town of Coeymans, Albany County, New York, United States. It is a prime example of a 19th-century mill town located at a rural intersection, and as such it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the Albany area as the Alcove Historic District. The city of Albany's Alcove Reservoir lies to the west of the hamlet.

Alcove Reservoir is a reservoir located in Albany County, New York, United States. It serves as a water supply for the city of Albany. At 618 ft (188 m) in elevation, the closest hamlet is Alcove, part of the town of Coeymans. New York State Route 32 passes the reservoir on the west. It was built in 1928–1932, inundating the village of Indian Fields. The Alcove Reservoir is fed by the Hannacroix Creek, Silver Creek and Gulf Creek.

Valley Paper Mill Chimney and Site is a historic chimney and archaeological site located at Alcove in Albany County, New York. It consists of the surviving 1844 Valley Paper Mill chimney and the site of the former straw pulp paper mill. The chimney is a rectangular brick tapered structure measuring 9.5 feet by 9.5 feet at its base and rising 110 feet. The mill was destroyed by fire in 1891 and the site leveled and filled. A significant portion of the site remains undisturbed from the time of the fire.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

District School No. 7, also known as "The Little Red Schoolhouse", is an historic one-room school building located at Coeymans Hollow in Albany County, New York. It was built in 1879 and is a single-story, rectangular brick building, three bays by three bays in the Italianate style. It features a shingle-clad gable roof surmounted by an open belfry. It features overhanging roof eaves and ornate door and window hood molds. School use ceased in 1957. It houses the Little Red Schoolhouse Historical Society.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Israel Shear House is a historic home located at Ravena in Albany County, New York. It was built about 1810 and is a 1+1⁄2-story, rectangular heavy timber-frame dwelling on a rubble foundation. It is in the Federal style. The center entrance features a broad nine-panel door framed by Corinthian columns and side lights.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

It was built about 1850 and is a rectangular, two story heavy timber frame dwelling on a random coursed rubblestone foundation. It has a one-story gable roofed wing. It has a Greek Revival style recessed entry door. Also on the property are a barn (c. 1850), fruit barn (c. 1870), barn foundation (c. 1850), shed (c. 1870), and a chicken coop (c. 1870).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Cornelius and Agnietje Van Derzee House is a historic home and farm complex located at Coeymans in Albany County, New York. It was built about 1765 and is a rectangular two-story rubblestone dwelling with brick gables. The front facade is five bays with a Greek Revival style central entrance. A craftsman inspired porch was added in 1915. A two-story gable roof wing was added to the south elevation about 1890 and a large, two-story Greek Revival era wing is on the west. It has a moderately pitched gable roof. Also on the property are eleven contributing outbuildings and the agricultural setting. They include a tenant house (ca. 1840), large upper barn (1870), hog barn and chicken coop (1813), barn (1825), wagon house (1868), cow barn (1883), wood shop (ca. 1870), corn crib (ca. 1870), fruit barn (1911), paint house (ca. 1880), garage (1890), and brooder house (ca. 1932).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
