Shedd is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Linn County, Oregon, United States, on Oregon Route 99E. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 204.

The United Presbyterian Church of Shedd (also known as Valley Rose Chapel) is a historic Presbyterian church at 30045 OR 99 East in Shedd, Oregon. It was built in 1892 in a Gothic Revival style and was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1998.Its NRHP nomination argued it to be "a graceful, wood-frame Gothic Revival church, bestowed with a substantive role in local history", being located just a few miles from the Linn County location of the first United Presbyterian Church "in the entire world" to be formed. And this Shedd church drew from those congregations.

Thompson's Mills State Heritage Site is a state park near Shedd in Linn County, Oregon, United States, administered by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. The mill was first built in 1858. It burned down in 1862, but was rebuilt right away and the 12 inch by 12 inch hand hewn beams cut and placed while Lincoln was in office are still visible inside the mill today. A series owners adapted the mill to changing times turning the flour mill to a feed mill and eventually a hydroelectric plant operating until 2004, making it one of Oregon's oldest continuously operating water-powered businesses. Oregon State Parks purchased the property in 2004 and the park was opened to the public in December, 2007. The property was acquired and restored under governor Kulongoski's "park-a-year" plan, in which one new state park is to be opened every year. Free guided tours are offered daily allowing visitors to see the water powered turbines and machinery in action. The grounds are being restored to the 1910-1930s era with the heirloom orchard, gardens and plantings restored as well as heritage poultry roaming the grounds and original fence lines and paths; all will be open to the public when complete.

Boston Flour Mill is a historic gristmill in Shedd, Oregon. It was built in 1863 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It is part of the Thompson's Mills State Heritage Site. The mill has been the site of field schools of both the historic preservation program and the archaeology program of the University of Oregon, in 2003 and 2005 respectively.

Lacking stores and services, it is a cluster of houses plus a county park along Peoria Road, about 8 miles (13 km) south of Oregon Route 34 and 12 miles (19 km) north of Harrisburg. As of the 2010 census, the population was 94.

The Long Tom River is a 57-mile (92 km) tributary of the Willamette River in western Oregon in the United States. It drains an area at the south end of the Willamette Valley between Eugene and Corvallis.It rises in the Central Oregon Coast Range in western Lane County, approximately 10 mi (16 km) west of Veneta. It flows east through the mountains to Veneta, through the Fern Ridge Reservoir, and then north into the Willamette Valley, roughly parallel to and west of the Willamette River. It joins the Willamette from the southwest approximately 4 mi (6.5 km) west of Halsey. The Fern Ridge Reservoir was created in 1942 when the United States Army Corps of Engineers dammed the river to control flooding.The watershed includes approximately 410 sq mi (1,100 km2) of land (262,000 acres, 1060 km2) zoned as 45 percent forest, 30 percent agricultural, 8 public, and 17 percent urban or rural residential. The Long Tom waters support more than 140,000 people in the area, including residents in the city of Veneta and the rural farming communities of Alvadore, Cheshire, Crow, Franklin, and Noti, as well as industrial and commercial land on the western edge of Eugene. These lands were inhabited by the Chelamela group of the Kalapuya Indians prior to European settlement. The Oregon Country Fair is one of many groups and agencies that work with the Long Tom Watershed Council to protect and restore the river.

The 1881 John M. Moyer House was built by Linn County, Oregon, pioneer John Moyer. The house was donated to the Linn County Historical Society in 1962 under a grant from the Hill Family Foundation. The Society has furnished the house with late 19th-century Victorian pieces and offers tours on weekends. In 1974 the Moyer House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. A carpenter by trade, Moyer began planning the house in 1878 in the Italian villa style. George F. Colbert, a friend of Moyer, helped with construction.
