Zajčje Polje

The Rinža (German: Rinse, Rinnse) is a river of Slovenia. It is 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) long and flows through Kočevje. It is the main watercourse of the Kočevje Polje and it is a losing stream. A few kilometers downstream of Kočevje, it goes subterranean. It emerges again as the Bilpa, a tributary of the Kolpa (Kupa).

Rogati Hrib (pronounced [ɾɔˈɡaːti ˈxɾiːp]; German: Hornberg, Gottscheerish: Hoarnparg) is an abandoned settlement in the Municipality of Kočevje in southern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region.

Štalcerji (pronounced [ˈʃtaːlcɛɾji] or [ˈʃtaːu̯cɛɾji]; previously also Štalcarji, German: Stalzern) is a settlement in the hills south of the town of Kočevje in southern Slovenia. It was a village inhabited partly by Gottschee Germans. In 1941 at the start of the Second World War its original population was expelled. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region. It includes the hamlet of Jelenja Vas.The local church, dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua, is mentioned in written documents dating to 1526. During the Second World War it was damaged and after the war the ruins were demolished and removed.

Cvišlerji (pronounced [ˈtsʋiːʃlɛɾji]; in older sources also Cvišljarji, German: Zwischlern, Gottscheerish: Zwishlarə) is a settlement east of Kočevje in southern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region. The settlement consists of the hamlets of Spodnji Cvišlerji ('lower Cvišlerji'), mostly containing newer houses built after the Second World War, and Zgornji Cvišlerji ('upper Cvišlerji'), containing older houses.

The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region.

Novi Lazi (pronounced [ˈnɔːʋi ˈlaːzi]; German: Hinterberg, Gottscheerish: Hintrparg)is a settlement east of Kočevska Reka in the Municipality of Kočevje in southern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region. After the Second World War it also included Jelenja Vas (Slovene: Jelenja vas), formerly a separate village named Iskrba (German: Hirisgruben), which is now a hamlet of Štalcerji.

Gottschee (pronounced [ɡɔˈtʃeː], Slovene: Kočevsko) refers to a former German-speaking region in Carniola, a crownland of the Habsburg Empire, part of the historical and traditional region of Lower Carniola, now in Slovenia. The region has been a county, duchy, district, and municipality during various parts of its history. The term often also refers to the entire ethnolinguistic enclave regardless of administrative borders. Today Gottschee largely corresponds to the Municipality of Kočevje. The original German settlers of the region are called Gottschee Germans or Gottscheers, and their German dialect is called Gottschee German or Gottscheerish.

Gnadendorf (Gottschee German: Gnoudndoarf, Gnoudndaf) is a former village in the Municipality of Kočevje in southern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region. Its territory is now part of the town of Kočevje.

Kočevje (pronounced [kɔˈtʃeːwjɛ] ; German: Gottschee; Göttscheab or Gətscheab in the local Gottscheerish dialect; Italian: Cocevie) is a town and the seat of Municipality of Kočevje in southern Slovenia.
