Kalar Sports Park is a multi-purpose outdoor sports facility in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The stadium is owned by the Niagara United Football Club. It is located on 6775 Kalar Road. On August 17, 2012 Niagara United received a grant of $75, 000 from Ontario Trillium Foundation for the purchase of a new scoreboard. The club also spent around $750, 000 in renovations for the increase in stadium seats, scoreboard, new clubhouse, and new FIFA -approved turf field in order to accommodate the clubs needs by joining the Canadian Soccer League. The stadium hosted the 2013 CSL Championship final which featured SC Waterloo vs Kingston FC.

The Niagara Square was a shopping centre and former mall in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. The Niagara Square opened in 1977. The interior of the shopping centre was closed in 2017, while some stores remained open in the exterior. Before its closure, the Niagara Square was a 36,000-square-metre (390,000 sq ft) shopping centre with 83 units. Before the demolition of the shopping centre, more than 30% of the tenants occupying the space had left prior to its closure. In 2019, the property began its redevelopment and as of December 2020, the majority of the original interior mall has been demolished, with the exterior businesses open and intact.

Westlane Secondary School is a Canadian public secondary school located in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. It serves the Lundy's Lane area, and is part of the District School Board of Niagara. As of September 2009, it had 669 students. In the Fraser Institute's Report Card on Ontario's Secondary Schools 2011, the school was ranked 351 out of 727 secondary schools in Ontario with an overall rating of 6.3 out of 10.Its campus contains a football/rugby and soccer field, along with a baseball diamond. The building includes one full gymnasium as well as a half-gym with multiple changing rooms with showers, a weight room, an elevator, and a 500-seat cafeteria. Westlane's feeder schools are James Morden Public School, Forestview Public School, Greendale Public School, K.S. Durdan Public School and Orchard Park Public School. The Montrose Swing Bridge is located on the Welland River at the junction with the Queenston Power Canal in the southeast portion of the City of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. It was built ca. 1910 to carry the Canada Southern Railway over the river (click the link to see a discussion of companies who used the Canada Southern tracks over the years). It is a two-track bridge, although only one track remains in use today. It crosses the river at roughly a 45-degree angle. This bridge is visually similar to the Welland Canal, Bridge 15, although it is a Warren truss, compared to the Baltimore truss of Bridge 15.

The tourist area near the falls includes observation towers, high-rise hotels, souvenir shops, museums, indoor water parks, casinos and theatres, mostly with colourful neon billboards and advertisements. Other parts of the city include golf courses, parks, historic sites from the War of 1812, and residential neighbourhoods.

CKTB (610 kHz) is a commercial radio station in St. Catharines, Ontario. It is owned by Bell Media and it airs a news-talk radio format. Its studios are on Yates Street in downtown St. Catharines, in the former mansion of William Hamilton Merritt, the main promoter of the first Welland Canal. CKTB is a Class B AM station. By day, it is powered at 10,000 watts. But at night, to protect other stations on 610 AM from interference, it reduces power to 5,000 watts. It uses a directional antenna with a five-tower array. The transmitter is on Grassy Brook Road east of Port Robinson.

The Battle of Beaver Dams took place on 24 June 1813, during the War of 1812. A column of troops from the United States Army marched from Fort George and attempted to surprise a British outpost at Beaver Dams, billeting themselves overnight in the village of Queenston, Ontario. Laura Secord, a resident of Queenston, had earlier learned of the American plans from several Americans billeted at her house and had struck out on a long and difficult trek to warn the British at Decou's stone house near present-day Brock University. When the Americans resumed their march, they were ambushed by Kahnawake and other native warriors and eventually surrendered to a small British detachment led by Lieutenant James FitzGibbon. About 500 U.S. troops, including their wounded commander, were taken prisoner.
