North Haven is a village in the Town of Southampton in Suffolk County, on the South Fork of Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 1162 at the 2020 census.

Sag Harbor is an incorporated village in Suffolk County, New York, United States, in the towns of Southampton and East Hampton on eastern Long Island. The village developed as a working port on Gardiners Bay. The population was 2,772 at the 2020 census.The entire business district is listed as the historic Sag Harbor Village District on the National Register of Historic Places. A major whaling and shipping port in the 19th century, by the end of this period and in the 20th century, it became a destination for wealthy people who summered there. Sag Harbor is about three-fifths in Southampton and two-fifths in East Hampton (the Town boundary being Division Street). Its landmarks include structures associated with whaling and its early days when it was designated as the first port of entry to the new United States. It had the first United States custom house erected on Long Island.

Sag Harbor was the terminus of the abandoned Sag Harbor Branch of the Long Island Rail Road, and was one of two stations within the village of Sag Harbor, New York. It opened in 1870 with the arrival of the LIRR into Sag Harbor, and was the eastern terminus of the LIRR on the south fork of Long Island until 1895, when the Brooklyn and Montauk Railroad built a line from Bridgehampton to Montauk, thus converting the line into a spur north of Bridgehampton. Besides the standard passenger station, it also contained a freight house, and "express building," two yards, a spur to "Long Wharf" which was owned by the LIRR affiliated Montauk Steamboat Company, a coal trestle, a turntable, and a three-story grain storage building owned by The station was rebuilt in 1909 in a manner similar to such stations as Riverhead, Bay Shore, Manhasset, and Bayside stations, among others. During World War I, it was used to transport torpedoes to Long Wharf in order to test them. It was abandoned in 1939 along with the branch. Today, Long Wharf is Suffolk County Road 81, and the former freight house became the Sag Harbor Garden Center's retail store until February 1, 2022, when renovations began to transform to building into Kidd Squid Brewing Company's flagship tasting room, which opened in July 2022 and continues in operation today.

The Sag Harbor Custom House is a historic house located in Sag Harbor, Suffolk County, New York, originally built around 1770. The Sag Harbor Custom House is best known for being the home and office of Henry Packer Dering (1763–1822), one of Sag Harbor's first customs master and postmaster following the harbor's designation as a United States Federal Port of Entry in 1789. The house has been altered and many efforts to restore it have been made throughout the years, including the house's relocation to its current site to save it from demolition. The Custom House is currently operated by Preservation Long Island and used to educate the public about the history of Sag Harbor and the Dering family.

Sag Harbor Whaling and Historical Museum is dedicated to the port town's past within the American whaling industry. It houses the largest collection of whaling equipment in the state of New York.

The John Jermain Memorial Library is a public library located in Sag Harbor, Suffolk County, New York. Built in 1910, it serves the residents of the Sag Harbor Union Free School District, which includes the Village of Sag Harbor, the Village of North Haven, Noyac, and Mount Misery, Eastville, and Baypoint neighborhoods. It is a contributing structure to the National Register Sag Harbor Historic District and since 2015, a founding member of the Sag Harbor Cultural District.

Sag Harbor Village District is a national historic district in Sag Harbor, Suffolk County, New York. It comprises the entire business district of the village. It includes 870 contributing buildings, seven contributing sites, two contributing structures, and three contributing objects. It includes the First Presbyterian Church, a National Historic Landmark building designed by Minard Lafever. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 and its boundaries were increased in 1994.

First Presbyterian Church in Sag Harbor, New York, also known as Old Whaler's Church, is a historic and architecturally notable Presbyterian church built in 1844 in the Egyptian Revival style. The church is Sag Harbor's "most distinguished landmark." The facade has been described as "the most important (surviving) example of Egyptian revival style in the United States," and "the best example of the Egyptian Revival style in the U.S. today.The church was designed by Minard Lafever in an Egyptian Revival style that includes Greek Revival elements. With its original steeple, 185 feet high, it was the tallest structure on Long Island when built. The steeple was destroyed by the Great New England Hurricane of 1938. Although many lament the loss, architectural historian Richard Carrot believes that the removal of the steeple was "successful", in that it left "a more 'Egyptian' building."The church is located at 44 Union Street, within the historic Sag Harbor Village District, and was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1994. It is the only such landmark in Sag Harbor.

Noyack Road was a railroad station on the Sag Harbor Branch of the Long Island Rail Road in Sag Harbor, New York. While the branch opened in 1869, this station was not added until 37 years later in 1906 as "Lamb's Corner". By 1915, it had been renamed as "Noyack Road".It was demolished with the rest of the branch shortly after service was withdrawn from the line in 1939.

The Meigs Raid (also known as the Battle of Sag Harbor) was a military raid by American Continental Army forces, under the command of Connecticut Colonel Return Jonathan Meigs, on a British Loyalist foraging party at Sag Harbor, New York on May 24, 1777, during the American Revolutionary War. Six Loyalists were killed and 90 captured while the Americans suffered no casualties. The raid was made in response to a successful British raid on Danbury, Connecticut in late April that was opposed by American forces in the Battle of Ridgefield. Organized in New Haven, Connecticut by Brigadier General Samuel Holden Parsons, the expedition crossed Long Island Sound from Guilford on May 23, dragged whaleboats across the North Fork of Long Island, and raided Sag Harbor early the next morning, destroying boats and supplies.

Temple Adas Israel is Reform Jewish synagogue in Sag Harbor, Suffolk County, on Long Island, New York, in the United States. It is one of the 19th century synagogue buildings in the United States.

Oakland Cemetery is a public, not-for-profit cemetery located in the village Sag Harbor, New York. It was founded in 1840 and currently sits on 26 acres bounded by Jermain Ave to the north, Suffolk St to the east, and Joels Ln to the west. It is the permanent resting place of over 4,000 people, including more 18th and 19th century sea captains than in any other Long Island cemetery. It was incorporated in 1884.
