The Manor of Byng is a former manorial estate located in the county of Suffolk, UK. The manor house is the 16th-century Byng Hall. The manor is located within the area known as Pettistree, near Ufford. The manor includes Byng Hall Lane, Byng Lane, Byng Brook and a considerable amount of the local farmland stretching to the outskirts of Wickham Market.

Bromeswell Green is a 7.2-hectare (18-acre) nature reserve in Bromeswell, east of Woodbridge in Suffolk. It is managed by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust.This site has woodland, saltmarsh and wet meadows. Wetland plants include lesser spearwort, fen bedstraw and southern marsh orchid, the woodland has birds such as nightingales and whitethroats, and rides have many species of butterfly.There is access from Common Lane, which passes through the reserve.

Bromeswell is a village and civil parish in the East Suffolk district of Suffolk, England about 2 miles east of Woodbridge. Situated near the River Deben, Bromeswell lies on fairly high and fertile ground with low-lying heathland to the South and marshland to the West. A mile to the south west is Sutton Hoo, the Ango-Saxon burial site situated alongside the River Deben. The parish church of Bromeswell is situated in what is considered the centre of the village. The church has roots from several centuries ago, with a tower to the West, a vestry to the North and a South porch. The church consists of various additional features from various centuries. Bromeswell lacks most public amenities but has a bus stop, post box and traditional village inn, the Unruly Pig.

Pettistree is a small village and a civil parish in the East Suffolk district, in the English county of Suffolk. According to the 2011 Census, Pettistree had a population of 194 people and is set in around 1,800 acres of farmland. The village has many footpaths and country lanes surrounding it. Being only one mile from the larger village of Wickham Market, Pettistree uses many of their resources; such as the Post Office, Medical and Resource Centre and Children's Play Area. The Primary School situated in Wickham Market also serves the younger children of Pettistree. However, senior children are required to travel 7 miles to Thomas Mills High School which is situated in Framlingham. Pettistree House is a Georgian country manor house set in 13 acres of parkland. The civil parish of Pettistree comprises the manor of Pettistree, the manor of Byng, and the manor of Loudham. Byng Hall is a castellated 16th century manor house. Loudham Hall is a fine Georgian country manor house set in 69 acres. The village church of St Peter and St Pauls was originally built in the Thirteenth Century. Pettistree is just south of the small town of Wickham Market. For transport there is the A12 road nearby. In 1887,in the Gazetteer of the British Isles, John Bartholomew described Pettistree as "Pettistree, par. and vil., Suffolk, 4 miles NE. of Woodbridge, 1767 ac., pop. 275; near the vil. is Pettistree lodge, seat"

Melton railway station is on the East Suffolk Line in the east of England, serving the village of Melton, Suffolk. It is 11 miles 49 chains (18.7 km) down the line from Ipswich and 80 miles 28 chains (129.3 km) measured from London Liverpool Street; it is situated between Woodbridge and Wickham Market. Its three-letter station code is MES. The station was opened in 1859 but was closed in 1955 and remained so until 1984 when, after a local campaign, it was reopened. Today it is managed by Abellio Greater Anglia, which also operates all trains that call. It is 1.25 miles from the ancient Anglo-Saxon burial site at Sutton Hoo, run by the National Trust.

Melton is a village in Suffolk, England, located approximately one mile northeast of Woodbridge. The 2001 census recorded a population of 3,718, the population increasing to 3,741 at the 2011 Census. The village is served by Melton railway station on the Ipswich-Lowestoft East Suffolk Line. The parish contains 'Woodbridge' Melton, an area of building contiguous with Woodbridge but separated from most of Melton by the wood, 'Village' Melton, centred around the A1152 and A1438, Melton Park or Melton St Audry's, a housing estate converted from an asylum, and various outlying hamlets.Melton was the effective capital of the Liberty of St Etheldreda and housed a gaol and various other buildings.

Sutton Hoo Helmet is a 2002 sculpture by the English artist Rick Kirby. A representation of the Anglo-Saxon helmet by the same name found in the Sutton Hoo ship-burial, it was commissioned by the National Trust to suspend outside an exhibition hall at the Sutton Hoo visitor centre. At the opening of the centre, the sculpture was unveiled by the Literature Nobel laureate Seamus Heaney on 13 March 2002. It remained in place, dominating the entrance of the exhibition hall, until 2019, when it was moved to the entrance to the Sutton Hoo site. The sculpture is 1.8 m (5.9 ft) high, 1.2 m (3.9 ft) wide, 1.6 m (5.2 ft) deep, and weighs 900 kg (2,000 lb). It is made of mild steel plates that are coloured red. Designed to have a "fierce presence", it is inspired by the fragmentary appearance of the reconstructed helmet rather than the glistening replica made by the Royal Armouries. Steel is Kirby's favoured medium, allowing the sense of scale and dramatic impact found in Sutton Hoo Helmet. The sculpture is illustrative of Kirby's largely figural body of work, and its mask-like quality has been repeated in subsequent pieces.

Hutchison's Meadow is a one hectare nature reserve in Melton in Suffolk. It is owned and managed by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust.This is mixture of wet and dry grassland. It has diverse flowering plants such as southern marsh orchid, common fleabane and ragged robin in wet areas, and yellow rattle and bulbous buttercup in drier ones.There is no public access to the site.

Wickham Market is a large village and electoral ward in the River Deben valley, Suffolk, England, within the Suffolk Coastal heritage area. It is on the A12 trunk road 13 miles (21 km) north-east of the county town of Ipswich, 5 miles (8.0 km) north-east of Woodbridge. Its railway station is 2 miles (3.2 km) east at Campsea Ashe. The population at the 2011 Census was 2,156. All Saints Church is over 700 years old and its octagonal tower and lead spire (137.5 feet tall) dominate the skyline and make it visible for miles over the surrounding countryside. The exterior of the church is stone and flintwork. Inside there are four stained glass windows, a 600-year-old font, a carved pulpit and an altar table with a painted reredos. There are six bells in the tower and a Sanctus Bell in the cote. Nearby attractions include: Valley Farm Equestrian Visitor Centre, Easton Farm Park, Glevering Hall, the Snape Maltings, Framlingham Castle and Sutton Hoo.

The Wickham Market Hoard is a hoard of 840 Iron Age gold staters found in a field at Dallinghoo near Wickham Market, Suffolk, England in March 2008 by car mechanic, Michael Dark using a metal detector. After excavation of the site, a total of 825 coins were found, and by the time the hoard was declared treasure trove, 840 coins had been discovered. The coins date from 40 BC to 15 AD. The hoard was described as "the largest hoard of British Iron Age gold coins to be studied in its entirety", and was also significant in providing "a lot of new information about the Iron Age, and particularly East Anglia in the late Iron Age". It was the largest hoard of staters to be found since the Whaddon Chase Iron Age hoard in 1849. In June 2011, the hoard was purchased by Ipswich Museum for the sum of £316,000.

Foxburrow Farm is a 67 hectare nature reserve north of Melton in Suffolk. It is managed by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust.Part of this site is a working farm which is managed by a tenant farmer, and it also has wildlife habitats and an education centre. Birds include little owls, spotted flycatchers and pied wagtails, and there are ponds with great crested newts.There is access from Saddlemakers Lane.
