Collinwood

Kinsman is a neighborhood on the East Side of Cleveland, Ohio. Centered along Kinsman Road, it is bordered to the south by Union Ave, to the east by Kingsbury Blvd and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, to the north by the RTA Red Line tracks to the north, and East 55th St to the west. Once a largely Jewish neighborhood, it is today predominantly African American.The East 79th Street light rail station of RTA's Blue and Green Line is located south of Holton Ave next to East 79th Street.

Ginn Academy is an all-boys' public high school located in Cleveland, Ohio. A part of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, Ginn began instruction in 2007 opening in the building previously occupied by Spellacy Middle School in the city's South Collinwood neighborhood. It is the only all-boys' public high school in the state. It was founded by Glenville High School football and track coach Ted Ginn Sr.Ginn Academy was designed for boys requiring additional help in academics and services, and it was scheduled to have a school day longer than that of most district high schools. The school, in its opening year, had 100 slots for first year students (freshmen) and 50 second year students (sophomores). As of December 2007, 80 students had applied.The dress code requires students to wear suits and ties, different from the normal Cleveland school district dress code guidelines.

Collinwood High School is a public high school located in the Collinwood neighborhood on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio, United States. It is part of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. The school is divided into three academies: Advanced Placement Academy, STEM Teaching Professions Academy, and Academy of Interior and Fashion Design.

The Beachland Ballroom and Tavern (The Beachland Ballroom or The Beachland) is a music venue located in the Collinwood neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio, United States. It was founded by Cindy Barber and Mark Leddy.

First Church of Christ in Euclid (also known as the First United Presbyterian Church of East Cleveland) is a historic church at 16200 Euclid Avenue in East Cleveland, Ohio. It was built in 1893 and added to the National Register in 1978.

The Collinwood school fire (also known as the Lake View School fire) was a major disaster that occurred at the Lake View School in Collinwood, Ohio, when a fire erupted on March 4, 1908, killing 172 students, two teachers and one rescuer. It is one of the deadliest school disasters in United States history.

St. Paul's Episcopal Church of East Cleveland is a current and historic church in East Cleveland, Ohio. It was built in 1846, and it was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1984 under the 'churches' category. It is credited to the firm of Coburn, Barnum, & Benes. The current occupants are a congregational church, the "Empowerment Church".

Euclid–Green is a neighborhood on the Northeast side of Cleveland, Ohio. It is "shaped somewhat like an isosceles triangle" and is bounded by the neighborhood of Collinwood–Nottingham to the northwest, the suburb of Euclid to the northeast, and the suburbs of South Euclid, Cleveland Heights, and East Cleveland to the south.Together with Collinwood–Nottingham, Euclid–Green is politically part of Cleveland's Ward 10. Originally part of the Euclid Township and later the Village of Euclid, it was incorporated into Cleveland in 1926. Demographically, the mostly residential neighborhood is predominantly African American. Local parks include Belvoir Park, Duggan Park, Endora Park, and Groton Playground, and the Euclid Creek Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks is located nearby.

Booth Memorial Hospital of Cleveland was a short-term hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. It was closed on November 30, 1991. At the time of closing, it had 54 beds and 132.75 full-time equivalent staff members.There were numerous hospitals throughout the United States and Canada that operated under the Booth Memorial name. They were operated by The Salvation Army in locations such as New York City (now NewYork–Presbyterian/Queens), Chicago, Omaha, and Montreal among many others. The hospitals offered services for unwed mothers and others who wanted to seek adoption of their children.

Nela Park is the headquarters of GE Lighting, a Savant company, and is located in East Cleveland, Ohio, United States. Nela Park is the first industrial park in the world, and was the site of most of the lighting breakthroughs of the last century. The institute was first organized by entrepreneurs Franklin Terry and Burton Tremaine of the National Electric Lamp Company. Development of the site was started in 1911 when the National Electric Lamp Association (NELA), formed by John Robert Crouse Sr, J.B. Crouse, and H.A. Tremaine in 1901, was dissolved and absorbed into General Electric. It was the first industrial park in the world, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. The campus emulates a university setting, and the dominant architectural style is Georgian Revival. The 92-acre (370,000 m2) campus is home to GE's Lighting & Electrical Institute, which was founded in 1933. Each December, Nela Park features a world-famous Christmas lighting display, which culminates in a miniature version of the National Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C., designed by GE Lighting. During World War I, the Chemical Corps had a research station at Nela.

Shaw High School is a public high school in East Cleveland, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the East Cleveland City School District and serves approximately 630 students in grades 9 through 12. The current Shaw facility was constructed around 2007. Larry Ellis is the principal. Athletic teams are known as the Cardinals and the school colors are red and black.

The Warner and Swasey Observatory is the astronomical observatory of Case Western Reserve University. Named after Worcester R. Warner and Ambrose Swasey, who built it at the beginning of the 20th century, it was initially located on Taylor Road in East Cleveland, Ohio, USA. The observatory, which at that time housed a 9.5-inch (24 cm) refractor, was donated in 1919 to the Case School of Applied Science. The newer 24-inch (61 cm) Burrell Schmidt telescope was built in 1939. Due to rising light pollution in Cleveland, a new station in Geauga County's Montville Township was established in 1950s. Named after Jason John Nassau, the station initially housed the Burrell telescope, which was later moved to Kitt Peak National Observatory. Instead of Burrell the station was equipped with the 36-inch robotic telescope. In 2008 Nassau Station was sold to the Geauga Park District and subsequently incorporated into its Observatory Park. The observatory currently operates the old 9.5-inch refractor (now known as the rooftop telescope) at the university's University Circle campus, and the Burrell Schmidt telescope at Kitt Peak National Observatory in Arizona. The old site on Taylor Road was sold in 1983.
