Loudoun County () is in the northern part of the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States. In 2020, the census returned a population of 420,959, making it Virginia's third-most populous county. Loudoun County's seat is Leesburg. Loudoun County is part of the Washington–Arlington–Alexandria, DC–VA–MD–WV Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of 2020, Loudoun County had a median household income of $147,111. Since 2008, the county has been ranked first in the U.S. in median household income among jurisdictions with a population of 65,000 or more.

Woodburn is a farm complex that was built beginning about 1777 for the Nixson family near Leesburg, Virginia. The first structure on the property was a stone gristmill, built by George Nixson, followed by a stone miller's residence in 1787, along with a stable. The large brick house was built between 1825 and 1850 by George Nixson's son or grandson George. The house became known as "Dr. Nixson's Folly." A large brick bank barn dates from this time, when Woodburn had become a plantation.The brick house is two stories with five bays, backed by a two-story seven-bay ell to the rear. The brickwork is in Flemish bond on the front and west sides, and four or five course American bond on the other sides. The house has a double-pile (two rooms deep) plan, but with a single full-depth parlor on the west side of the central hall. A "little parlor" lies on the other side of the hall. The bank barn features an overhanging forebay supported by six brick arches. A small forebay barn on a stone foundation is nearby. Down the hill from the main house lies the "patent house," whose original single-pen log structure was probably the first building on the site, erected to establish the land patent. It has since been extended twice.An additional structure, the farm manager's house, was added to the National Register of Historic Places listing in 2008. The frame house was built in 1909 on a fieldstone foundation. The house has five rooms on each level with a large stair hall on both levels. A rear staircase connects the rearmost rooms.The Woodburn property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 12, 1976, with the farm manager's house added in 2008.

Woodburn is an unincorporated community in Loudoun County, Virginia. The village is located on Hogback Mountain southwest of Leesburg. Woodburn Road, which runs between Dry Mill and Harmony Church Roads, is all that is left to mark the existence and location of the community. The ruins of Woodburn's general store stood just north of the road's intersection with Forrestgrove Road until about 2000 when the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), overturned the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors' decision to leave the road unpaved and paved and widened the road, demolishing the general store in the process.

Sleepy Hollow Farm is a historic home located near Leesburg, Loudoun County, Virginia. The house was built in two phases, one in 1769 and another about 1820. The original section is a two-story, side-gable, three-bay, stone dwelling with a side gable roof. The interior exhibits stylistic influences of the Federal style. Attached to it is a one-story, two-bay, stone addition built about 1820. It has a one-story section added about 1980. Also on the property is a contributing stone spring house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Home Farm is a historic home located near Leesburg, Loudoun County, Virginia. The original log section of the house was built about 1757, with a stone addition built about 1810, a frame addition built about 1830, and a frame kitchen addition built about 1930. It is an "L"-shaped, two-story, single-pile vernacular house clad in wood siding, random rubble fieldstone, and brick veneer laid. The interior exhibits stylistic influences of the Federal style. Also on the property are a contributing early-20th century henhouse, the stone foundation of a spring house, and a dry-laid fieldstone wall.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.In 2019, Home Farm 1760 was established at "Home Farm" specializing in organic locally sourced produce, botanicals, and products.

Mount Gilead is an unincorporated community in Loudoun County, Virginia. Mount Gilead lies atop an 602 ft (183 m) peak of Catoctin Mountain to the east of the North Fork Goose Creek.

The Glebe of Shelburne Parish is a house built as a glebe in rural Loudoun County, Virginia around 1775 to attract a cleric to preach in the Shelburne Parish of the Anglican Church. Shelburne Parish, named for the Earls of Shelburne, desired in 1771 that a minister preach at Leesburg, Virginia every three months. The absence of a glebe and glebe lands detracted from efforts to recruit a parson, so in 1773 the parish purchased 473 acres (191 ha) and built a house on the property.The two-story brick house stands on a hilltop overlooking Goose Creek. There are five bays, of which two may have been added. A two-bay kitchen wing is appended. The interior, which by vestry order was to include one large room 20 feet (6.1 m) by 20 feet (6.1 m) and another 18 feet (5.5 m) by 19 feet (5.8 m), follows a hall-and-parlor plan. The interior may not have been completed until after the American Revolution, as its detailing is Greek Revival in character. The property includes a number of outbuildings, including an ice house and a kitchen.Virginia ordered the sale of all glebes in 1802, but the parish resisted. Legal action was not settled until 1830, and the property was finally sold in 1840. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 1, 1975. The Shelburne Glebe is contained within the larger Goose Creek Historic District, a rural landscape.

Hogback Mountain is part of Catoctin Mountain, located southwest of Leesburg in Loudoun County, Virginia. The mountain ridge rises immediately to the west of U.S. Route 15, just south of Sycolin Creek and extends 2.5 miles (4.0 km) south to the banks of Goose Creek. It is so named for its appearance when approaching it from the north of resembling a pig on its back. The ridge is mislabeled on older USGS topographic maps as being located to the north, between Sycolin Creek and Leesburg.

The Church of Our Saviour at Oatlands is a Reformed Episcopal parish located south of Leesburg, Virginia. Founded in 1871 as a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, it met for most of its history in a historic church building on the grounds of the Oatlands plantation. The congregation elected to leave the Episcopal Church during the Anglican realignment and in 2016 relocated to a new building a mile north of the original historic church. It is noted for its use of the 1928 Book of Common Prayer.

Rokeby is a Georgian house near Leesburg, Virginia, built in the mid-18th century. The house is the best example of Georgian architecture in Loudoun County. Rokeby served as a repository for U.S. Government documents during the British occupation and burning of Washington in 1814 during the War of 1812. The Declaration of Independence was reputedly kept in the basement.

Hamilton is a town in the Loudoun Valley of Loudoun County, Virginia, United States. The population was 506 as of the 2010 census.

The Hamilton Masonic Lodge is a historic brick building built in 1873, located in Hamilton, Virginia. Built in the Italianate style, it historically served as a Masonic meeting hall and (until the 1920s) as a school for grades 1−12.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.No Masonic lodges meet in the building today, and its original 1873-dated cornerstone was (as of the 1999 NRHP-listing) on display at another Masonic lodge building several miles away.
