Rothenburg, Oberlausitz

The Rothenburg Solar Park is a photovoltaic power station in Rothenburg, Oberlausitz in Germany. Initially it had a capacity of 20.5 megawatts (MW). The solar park is equipped with 273,240 CdTe-modules from First Solar, and 11 Siemens central inverters. The project was commissioned in 2009. The original solar farm was divided into three fields on the airfield site.In September 2012, the three existing plants were supplemented by a fourth with a rated capacity of 15.2 MWp. As a result, the solar park now has a total capacity of 37 MWp. Unlike the first three plants, the fourth uses solar modules from Yingli and BYD.

The easternmost point in Germany lies within its municipal limits, including Zentendorf, the easternmost settlement in Germany. From German unification in 1871, until World War II, the title was held by the village of Schirwindt, in East Prussia.

It is the seat of the administrative district (gmina) called Gmina Pieńsk, and stands on the east bank of the Lusatian Neisse river, which forms the border between Poland and Germany. The town lies approximately 11 kilometres (7 mi) north of Zgorzelec, and 140 kilometres (87 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław. As of 2019, it has a population of 5,828. Historically considered as part of Upper Lusatia, although more closely associated with Lower Silesia in the early 14th century and from 1815.

Lasów [ˈlasuf] (German: Lissa) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Pieńsk, within Zgorzelec County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland, close to the German border.It lies approximately 2 kilometres (1 mi) south-west of Pieńsk, 10 km (6 mi) north of Zgorzelec, and 141 km (88 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław (German: Breslau). The village has a population of 528.

Niesky (German: Bahnhof Niesky) is a railway station in the town of Niesky, Saxony, Germany. The station lies on the Węgliniec–Roßlau railway, train services are operated by Ostdeutsche Eisenbahn.
