North Sydney is a suburb and major commercial district on the Lower North Shore of Sydney, Australia. North Sydney is located 3 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district and is the administrative centre for the local government area of North Sydney Council.

The Mary Mackillop Memorial Chapel was built in 1913 in honor of Australia’s first saint – Mary Mackillop [1]. The chapel is located in Mount Street in North Sydney, considered a place for spiritual retreat in the middle of the North Sydney business district. The chapel was previously used exclusively by the Sisters of St. Joseph. However, when Mary Mackillop’s remains were moved to the chapel in 1994, where the vestry was originally located. Since then, the chapel has become a place of pilgrimage [2] for thousands of people coming to pray and reflect at her tomb. The Chapel is an imposing building. The facade is set by stone traceried windows [3]. Above of which, are tall commanding spires of carved stone. The Chapel’s altar, lectern and chair are all made from white marble. Images of saints displayed in stained glass and statues adorn the Chapel. Apart from the Chapel, a museum has also been incorporated in the compound. This facility attracts busses of crowds and or tourists, both local and foreign, wanting to know more about the life of Australia’s first saint. The museum is equipped with state of the art technological gadgets & facilities to help provide visitors with a truly transcendental experience to relive Mary Mackillops days. Her life story is weaved by the different sections of the museum. It is also divided in several buildings, each depicting a phase of Mary’s life. Regardless of religious persuasion, it is a pleasant and interesting setting to spend some time for reflection and tranquility, purely from a historical point of view. Despite the abundance of activities other than spiritual retreat, Mary Mackillop Place is in fact a soothing resort which refreshes anyone with its divine calmness.

Coca-Cola Place, originally known as The Ark, is a 21 level commercial office building located at 16-40 Mount St in North Sydney, Australia. It is jointly owned by Investa Property Group and Investa Commercial Property Fund and was designed by the architectural firm Rice Daubney. Major tenants include Coca-Cola Amatil, Coca-Cola South Pacific, Vodafone Hutchison Australia, AWE Limited and Regus.The building has won a series of awards since completion in 2010 and has also received a 6-Star Green Star accreditation.

The North Sydney Post Office is a heritage-listed post office located at 92-94 Pacific Highway, North Sydney, North Sydney Council, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by the Colonial Architect’s Office under the direction of James Barnet, and built from 1885 to 1889 by James Reynolds. The property is owned by Australia Post, an agency of the Australian Government. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 22 December 2000.

Don Bank (also known as the Don Bank Museum) is a heritage-listed former residence and now house museum at 6 Napier Street, North Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It was built from 1853 to 1858 for Edward Wollstonecraft. It is also known as St. Leonard's Cottage. The property is owned by North Sydney Council. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

North Sydney Technical High School is a heritage-listed former public school, Presbyterian school and education resource centre and now pub at 36 Blue Street, North Sydney, North Sydney Council, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by George Allen Mansfield (original), William E. Kemp (1891 extension to north), Walter Liberty Vernon (1900 and 1902 addit and built from 1876 to 1877 by W Jago. It is also known as North Sydney Technical High School (former), St Peters Presbyterian School, St. Leonard's Public School, St. Leonard's Superior Public Boys' School, Greenwood Plaza and North Sydney Technical School. The property is privately owned. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.Over the years, the school has been progressively upgraded as St Leonards Public School, St Leonards Superior Public School, North Sydney Superior Public School, North Sydney Primary School, North Sydney Intermediate High School, North Sydney–Chatswood Junior High, and, finally, as North Sydney Technical High School until its closure in 1969.

The MLC Building is a landmark modernist skyscraper in the central business district of North Sydney, on a block bounded by Miller Street, Denison Street and Mount Street (Brett Whiteley Place). Planned in 1954 and completed in 1957, the complex was designed in the modernist Post-war International style by architects, Bates, Smart & McCutcheon. Its completion marked the appearance of the first high-rise office block in North Sydney and the first use of curtain wall design. Built to provide much-needed office space for the Mutual Life & Citizens Assurance Company Limited, the building continues to be primarily-occupied by its original tenants.

Graythwaite is a heritage-listed former private home and former hospital and now school administration building located at 20 Edward Street, North Sydney, North Sydney Council, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by Goold and Hilling and Edmund Blacket and built from 1858 to 1885 by Aaron Loveridge. It is also known as Graythwaite Nursing Home and Shore School. The property is owned by the Sydney Church of England Grammar School. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 1 November 2002.

Kailoa is a heritage-listed house at 44 Union Street, North Sydney, North Sydney Council, New South Wales, Australia. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.
