Short Heath is a residential area situated north of the market town of Willenhall, in the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall, West Midlands, England. Short Heath is a ward in the Walsall North constituency, and is bordered by the neighbouring wards of Bentley and Darlaston North, Birchills Leamore, Willenhall North, and Willenhall South.The population of the ward is approximately 11,374, according to a mid-2018 ward-level population estimate published by the ONS.The area contains housing developments, several schools, and a number of businesses and shops. Short Heath also contains Rough Wood - a small woodland area, and Bentley Haye - an area of wet grassland, both forming part of the larger Rough Wood Chase Local Nature Reserve.

Coppice Performing Arts School is an 11–18 mixed secondary school and sixth form with academy status in Wednesfield, Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England. The school includes a resource base for students with moderate learning difficulties. Facilities include playing fields, a Drama theatre and Dance studio. The school also offers extended school programmes within the local community.

Sneyd Comprehensive School was a secondary school located in Bloxwich, West Midlands, England. The building of the school started in 1978, to serve the western part of the town and the northern part of Willenhall, with students moving into the School at the start of the new academic year in September 1979. The school was situated on Vernon Way in the shadow of the M6 motorway, and is just over the border from Willenhall. Sneyd Reservoir is adjacent to the former school site. The Sneyd School Choir performed at the Royal Albert Hall, at an event called 'The Magic of Music', organised by the Opal Foundation. They were one of two school choirs to win that night, and have won the opportunity to represent Great Britain at the 2008 Choir Olympics in Graz, Austria The school entered special measures in 2005, but managed to get out of these by 2006. In 2009, it was the joint lowest ranking secondary school in the Walsall borough with 27% of students achieving five or more GCSEs at grade C or above.

Black Country UTC was a university technical college (UTC) located in the Bloxwich area of Walsall, West Midlands, England. The University of Wolverhampton and Walsall College were the lead academic sponsors of the UTC, and Siemens acted as the lead business partner for the UTC. The UTC closed at the end of August 2015.

Pool Hayes Academy is a mixed secondary school and sixth form located in Willenhall, in the West Midlands of England. It is one of the biggest secondary schools in the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall.

The Lodge Farm estate is located in the area of Short Heath in the town of Willenhall, which is in the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall. The estate is centred primarily within the interior loop of Stroud Avenue. It comprises mainly current and former council properties and a smaller number of more recently built private houses. It is closely connected to the Brackendale estate, which is situated around the exterior loop of Stroud Avenue and comprises mainly detached and semi-detached private housing whose construction pre-dates that on the Lodge Farm estate. Due to their close proximity, the two estates are often mistaken for each other. It is served by a small number of convenience stores and is also home to one pub called The Homestead. For many years, it was also served by a pub called the Cavalcade, but this has now been demolished and the land will possibly be used for housing. A children's home used to lie on Stroud Avenue (Drum and Bass star Goldie being one of its ex-residents). A care home for the elderly and a family centre also lie on the estate. The estate is also home to a large field which once housed the Lodge Farm itself, but has no play area for youngsters. The estate is divided from the neighbouring estates of Bentley & the Briarsleigh Estate by a disused railway, known locally as The Banks. Lodge Farm also borders Willenhall Lawn Cemetery and Lane Head. The estate has good educational provision, being the home to four schools (Rosedale CE Infant School, Short Heath Junior School, Lodge Farm Primary School & Willenhall School Sports College).

Wednesfield North is a ward of Wolverhampton City Council, West Midlands. As the name suggests, it covers the northern parts of the town of Wednesfield. It borders the Wednesfield South, Heath Town and Fallings Park wards, as well as South Staffordshire and the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall. It forms part of the Wolverhampton North East constituency. Most of the ward is formed from the Ashmore Park housing estate, and part of Wood End. Coppice High School is situated in the ward.

Rough Wood is a small woodland area located within the Short Heath area of Willenhall in England, United Kingdom. It covers two local nature reserves: Rough Wood and Rough Wood Chase. It is one of only a few remaining ancient woodlands with a mix of tree varieties but comprising largely oak trees.Historically the woodland was privately owned up until the 1950s when it was given to the then Willenhall Council to protect it from clay extraction. The council promptly placed a preservation order on all the trees. First mentioned in the 12th Century as a royal hunting wood it stretched over a vast area taking in most of what is currently Walsall all the way to the woodland that is now known as Cannock Chase.The woodland resides on top of the Bentley Seam of coal which runs close to the surface of the ground. It was previously exploited for coal resources which is evident by large sections having undulating surfaces caused by the sinking of bell pits. The site is encircled by the Woodlands housing estate to the north and west, by the M6 motorway to the east and by the Wyrley and Essington canal to the south and east.

Short Heath railway station was a station built by the Wolverhampton and Walsall Railway in 1872, and was operated by the Midland Railway from 1876 onwards. It served the area of Short Heath, to the north east of Willenhall, although it was located well to the south of Short Heath itself. The station closed in 1931 for passengers and for freight on 7 December 1964.

Willenhall E-ACT Academy (formerly Willenhall School Sports College) is an 11–18 mixed secondary school and sixth form with academy status in Willenhall, West Midlands, England. It was a foundation school that was originally known as Willenhall Comprehensive School and had a specialist Sports College and Science College status. It adopted its present name after becoming an academy in 2012.

Ashmore Park is a large housing estate in Wednesfield, England. It has been part of the city of Wolverhampton, West Midlands since 1966, when the majority of Wednesfield was incorporated into Wolverhampton. It constitutes mostly of the Wednesfield North ward of the Wolverhampton council.

Essington is a village and civil parish in South Staffordshire, England, located near the city of Wolverhampton and towns of Walsall, Bloxwich, Cannock and Brewood. The villages of Cheslyn Hay, Great Wyrley, Coven, Penkridge and Featherstone are also nearby. The village forms part of the Staffordshire/West Midlands border.
