Brighouse Bridge

Brighouse railway station serves the town of Brighouse in West Yorkshire, England. The station lies on the Calder Valley line running west from Leeds. Opened in 1840, and closed in 1970, it reopened in 2000 and is served by Northern Trains and Grand Central services.

The current station was opened from 10 May 2009 on the site of the previous one that dates back from the 1970s. The new bus station cost £2.38 million and provides passengers with more comfortable and safer enclosed waiting areas, new seating and lighting, real time electronic passenger information, 24-hour CCTV surveillance and additional footpaths and pedestrian access

Rastrick is a village in the county of West Yorkshire, England, between Halifax, 5 miles (8 km) north-east and Huddersfield, 4 miles (7 km) south. The population of the Calderdale Civil Ward at the 2011 census was 11,351. It is perhaps best known for its association, along with its neighbour Brighouse, 1 mile (2 km) north-east, with the Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band. Along with Brighouse, it is part of Calderdale, but shares a Huddersfield postcode and phone number. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, the village is on an incline facing north-east, the Parish Church, is vertically in the middle. The area around the Parish Church is known as "Top o' t'Town" and the area around the Junction public house is known as "Bottom o' t'Town", this reflects the days when Rastrick had its own governance in the form of a Town Board whose Offices and lock-up were situated halfway between the two, on Ogden Lane. Remains of a fort have been found at Castle Hill, just below Top o' Town.

The Rastrick Independent School was a private school in Rastrick in the Metropolitan Borough of Calderdale, West Yorkshire, England. Opened in 1994 the school closed at very short notice in August 2019.The school had a capacity of 482 pupils but only had around 70 enrolled at the time of its closure.

The Brighouse ward of Calderdale Council gave a population of 11,195 at the 2011 Census. Brighouse has a HD6 postcode. The name Brighouse (or "Bridge House") originates from a building on (or close to) the bridge over the River Calder. In its early history, it was a hamlet of the nearby village of Rastrick. Brighouse is twinned with Lüdenscheid in Germany, the link beginning with an exchange by Brighouse Children's Theatre in 1950 followed by a civic twinning charter in 1960.
