Mold Railway

Hope & Pen-y-ffordd railway station was a station in Penyffordd, Flintshire, Wales. The station was opened on 14 August 1849 and closed on 30 April 1962. The last Station Master/Goods Agent was Mr T G C Jones who transferred to Deganwy on closure.

Higher Kinnerton is a village and community within rural Flintshire, Wales, close to the Wales-England border. Its sister village, Lower Kinnerton, is across the border in Cheshire, England. In the 2001 census it had a population of 1,634, increasing to 1,697 at the 2011 census.

All Saints Church is in Main Road, Higher Kinnerton, Flintshire, Wales. It is an active Anglican parish church in the Diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Chester, and the deanery of Chester.The church was designed by Douglas and Fordham and built in 1893. It is constructed in Ruabon brick. In addition to a central spire, the chancel is carried up into another pyramidal spire.Construction on an extension to the church building was started in 2007. This has been completed, providing the church with on-site facilities including a small kitchen.

Penymynydd is a small village in Flintshire, Wales, merging with the larger neighbouring village of Penyffordd. The name Penymynydd is Welsh, meaning "top" or "end of the mountain". The village consists of a number of modern housing estates (Well House Drive, Coed Terfyn, Coed Y Graig), and also housing on Penymynydd Road (most of which is in Penyffordd). Penymynydd has one church: St John The Baptist's Church. A second church formerly existed in the village and has since been redeveloped. St John The Baptist's Primary School is church aided and takes children between the ages of 3 and 11.

Penyffordd or Pen-y-ffordd is a village, community and electoral ward in Flintshire, Wales, situated to the south east of Buckley and to the west of Chester. The name is derived from the Welsh Pen Y Ffordd – roughly translated as "the highest or furthest point of the road". The resident population of Penyffordd, as measured in the 2001 Census, was 3,715, increasing to 3,874 at the 2011 census.Penyffordd lies to the east of A550, south of its junction with the A55 (North Wales Expressway). The ward consists of the neighbouring villages of Penyffordd and Penymynydd, which are a ribbon development along the line of the former major road. There is also a zebra crossing which has been instated. A hamlet named Pen-y-ffordd is also in Flintshire. It is located between Holywell and Prestatyn, near Mostyn.

Hope railway station serves the village of Hope in Flintshire, Wales. The station is 5+1⁄4 miles (8.4 km) north of Wrexham Central on the Borderlands Line. The name of the station in Welsh is Yr Hôb.

Broughton Hall was a large country house that was located in Broughton, Flintshire, Wales. It was demolished in the early 1970s and houses now exist on the site. The only indication of its existence is the main road through the village; Broughton Hall Road. Richard Slaughter was resident from 1754, it was during this time that the front of the old mansion house was rebuilt in the Gothic styleIn 1830 the Broughton Hall estate was purchased by the Glynne family and was leased to various members of the gentry. William Johnson, corn merchant, magistrate, alderman and mayor of Chester and his family lived thereduring the latter years of the nineteenth century. During his time living at Broughton Hall, William Johnson made significant donations to the local church that included; the addition of a chancel and two stained glass windows in 1876-7. Stone portraits of William Johnson and his wife exist, on the outside of the church, as carvings either side of one of the stained glass windowsIn 1883 the mining engineer, Horace Mayhew and family came to live in the area, eventually residing at Broughton Hall by the time of the 1901 census.An advertisement, for leasing the property, in 1895 describes the property as having five reception rooms, a billiard room, fourteen bedrooms, kitchen, cellars, stabling and gardens

Penyffordd railway station serves the village of Penyffordd in Flintshire, Wales. The station is 7¼ miles (12 km) north of Wrexham Central on the Borderlands Line.

Hope Exchange railway station was located to the west of Penyffordd, Flintshire. The station was in fields with no road access, being an interchange between two lines. The high level section of the station opened on 18 November 1867 on the Wrexham, Mold and Connah's Quay Railway, and the low level section opened on the same day, on the London and North Western Railway. The high level platforms served what is now the Borderlands Line, and the low level platforms served the Mold Railway. The railway line to Hope Low Level was completely removed by 1982. The railway through Hope High Level remains in use as the Borderlands Line. The platforms on the Borderlands Line are still extant whereas the Mold Line ones have been demolished.

Caergwrle railway station serves the village of Caergwrle in Flintshire, Wales. The station is 4¾ miles (7 km) north of Wrexham Central on the Borderlands Line.

Rhydyn Hall (or Rhyddyn Hall), near Caergwrle in Flintshire, Wales, is an 18th-century building with two storeys with a later wing to the north-west. It has a slate roof, Doric porch and iron verandahs, and was designated a Grade II* listed building in 1962 as a good example of an early 18th century gentry house with good surviving interior detail.Following a partial fire, the decorators left graffiti dated July 18, 1839 to record the completion of the work for the owner Richard Golightly. Some minor remodelling was carried out around 1900 when the Hall was developed into a spa and hotel.
