Ixonia, Wisconsin

Ixonia is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Ixonia, Jefferson County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,367 at the 2020 census.

The Ashippun River is a 33.2-mile-long (53.4 km) tributary of the Rock River in southeastern Wisconsin in the United States. The Ashippun's watershed lies in Dodge, Washington and Waukesha counties. Its tributaries include Mud Run, Dawson Creek and Davey Creek.

The village is located mostly within the town of Oconomowoc in Waukesha County. On March 28, 2002, the village annexed a portion of land in the town of Ixonia in Jefferson County.

Wisconsin's 5th congressional district is a congressional district of the United States House of Representatives in Wisconsin, covering most of Milwaukee's northern and western suburbs. It presently covers all of Washington and Jefferson counties, most of Waukesha County, and portions of Dodge, Milwaukee and Walworth counties. It is currently represented by Republican Scott Fitzgerald. With a Cook Partisan Voting Index rating of R+14, it is the most Republican district in Wisconsin. George W. Bush carried the district in 2004 with 63% of the vote. The 5th District was the only district in Wisconsin that John McCain won in 2008, giving 57.73% of the vote to McCain and 41.28% to Barack Obama. For most of the 20th century, the 5th District was a Milwaukee-based district. It had vastly different boundaries from the current 5th, as well as a dramatically different political history, represented often by Democrats or even Socialists. From 1983 to 2003, it covered the northern half of Milwaukee, including downtown, as well as some suburbs to the north. Meanwhile, most of the territory now in the 5th was part of the 9th District from 1965 to 2003. After Wisconsin lost a district in the 2000 census, all of Milwaukee was merged into the 4th district, while the old 9th essentially became the new 5th.

The Clarence Peck Residence, also known as the Dr. Hosea Townsend House, Madame Peck Residence, and Old White House, is a Greek Revival styled home. It was home to Clarence Peck, and is located at 430-434 Lake Dr., Oconomowoc, Wisconsin at the East end of Lac La Belle and south of the Lac La Belle dam. It consists of two sections, the main house, started in 1846, and an addition on the north, built c. 1859. The two sections were connected by an enclosed porch, which was removed about 1923, leaving two separate houses. It has since been reconverted to a single residence.

Ashippun is an unincorporated census-designated place located in the town of Ashippun, Dodge County, Wisconsin, United States. Ashippun is located on Wisconsin Highway 67 7 miles (11 km) south of Neosho. Ashippun has a post office with ZIP code 53003. At the 2020 census, its population was 1,166, more than triple the population of 333 in 2010. The primary community area is actually split into two parts, Ashippun and Old Ashippun. Old Ashippun was the original location, but when the first railroad was built several miles away, a large portion of the community relocated, as occurred with nearby Lebanon.
