The Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland, popularly referred to as the Marine Institute (MI) or simply Marine, is a post-secondary ocean and marine polytechnic located in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It is affiliated with Memorial University of Newfoundland. The Marine Institute is considered the most comprehensive institution of its kind in North America, with unique facilities such as two full ships bridge simulators and the world's largest flume tank. It offers degrees, diplomas, certifications and industry training for the maritime sector.

Pippy Park is a 3,400-acre (14 km2) urban park located in the city of St. John's, Newfoundland. The park is a popular camping, hiking and recreational park within the city, and incorporates numerous groomed and wilderness-style hiking/skiing trails, a miniature golf course, a 9-hole and an 18-hole golf course, a driving range, and a public access trailer park with limited tent camping facilities. Trails within the park link to the Grand Concourse walking trails. Pippy Park incorporates the main campus of Memorial University of Newfoundland and the Memorial University of Newfoundland Botanical Garden at Oxen Pond, as well as the Ridge Road campus of the Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland and the Ridge Road and Prince Philip Drive campuses of the College of the North Atlantic. The park also includes the Confederation Building complex, which houses the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly and numerous offices of the Provincial Government.The park is administered by the C. A. Pippy Park Commission, a Crown Corporation of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The eight members of the commission include representatives of the Provincial Government, the University, the City of St. John's, the Pippy family, and landowners and residents within the park boundaries. Pippy Park is also home to the Fluvarium, an environmental education centre which offers a cross section view of Nagle's Hill Brook. The Fluvarium is not an aquarium in that none of the fish are in captivity - the building offers an underwater view of a natural river. The word Fluvarium comes from the Latin Fluvius (flowing water) and means literally "windows on a stream."

The Janeway Children's Health and Rehabilitation Centre is a children's hospital located in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

The Suncore Energy Fluvarium, or simply The Fluvarium (meaning 'windows on a stream'), is a public centre for environmental education, located in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, and operated by the Quidi Vidi/Rennie's River Development Foundation. The lowest level of the Fluvarium features an underwater view of Nagle's Hill Brook through nine large viewing windows. Visitors can observe brown trout and salmon living in their natural habitat. The center also has a series of natural water aquariums and terrariums that showcase fish and amphibian species found throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

Faculty of Medicine of Memorial University of Newfoundland is located on the eastern edge of North America and is one of two medical schools in Atlantic Canada. It was founded in 1967 and is the academic core of health research in the province. The Faculty of Medicine includes the medical school, postgraduate residency training programs and graduate programs leading to a Masters, Doctoral or MD-PhD degree or to diplomas in Community Health, Clinical Epidemiology and Post-Secondary Studies (Health Professional Education). It is located in adjacent to the Health Sciences Centre on the northwest corner of the St. John's campus of Memorial University of Newfoundland, as well as many smaller sites in urban and rural areas throughout Newfoundland and Labrador and Atlantic Canada.

Long Pond is a pond in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It is next to Prince Philip Drive (the parkway) near the St. John's Arts and Culture Centre, and the Fluvarium is on the opposite side of the pond. It sports a walking trail around its shore, of which a small percentage is the Prince Philip Drive sidewalk; and a turnoff trail on the Fluvarium side leads to Mount Scio Road.

The Memorial University of Newfoundland Botanical Garden is operated by Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. It is located on Mount Scio Road in the suburbs of St. John's, and was founded in 1971 under the supervision of Dr. Bernard Jackson. Originally named the Oxen Pond Botanic Park, the gardens were opened to the public in 1977 and became a not-for-profit organization in 1994. The garden and nature trails were developed to provide a place where people of all ages and depths of interest can learn about the plants and natural environment of Newfoundland. The official emblem of the garden is the twinflower (Linnaea borealis).

CHMR-FM is a campus radio station broadcasting on the campus of Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada at 93.5 MHz, Rogers Cable channel 942 and Aliant TV channel 825. The Memorial University of Newfoundland Radio Society received approval by the CRTC in 1986 to operate on 93.5 MHz. The 93.5 frequency launched in January 1987. The station is operated by the university's undergraduate students' union, MUNSU. A media fee paid by all undergraduate students at Memorial's St. John's campus is the primary funding for CHMR. Along with The Muse, CHMR receives two dollars from every student each semester. CHMR previously aired on cable radio at 103.7 MHz in the St. John's area. It moved to digital cable in late 2006, when Rogers discontinued all traditional cable FM service.

The Parkway is a major arterial road in the city of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. It consists of three distinct roads that form a single through route: Columbus Drive, Prince Philip Drive, and Macdonald Drive. A four-lane limited-access road with a speed limit of 70 km/h along most of its length, the parkway begins at an intersection with Pitts Memorial Drive in the city's west end and terminates at Logy Bay Road in the east end.

The Centre for Newfoundland Studies is a division of the Memorial University of Newfoundland Libraries, which is completely devoted to the collection and storage of Newfoundland and Labrador related books, documents, articles and maps. Founded in 1965 by Agnes O'Dea it is now home to many rare published sources related to the people and history of Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as all material on the province - theses, novels, government publications, pamphlets. In fact, the CNS houses the largest collection of Newfoundland and Labrador material found anywhere. It holds in excess of 93,000 volumes, and more than 34,000 biographical files, subject files of newspaper clippings and files on every community in the province. The CNS answers questions and offers research advice.

The Arts and Culture Centres are a system of six arts centres in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, operated by the provincial government's Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation (TCAR). Each has a least one stage for the performing arts; some also house an art gallery or exhibition area, a public library, and (in Gander and Corner Brook) a swimming pool. The "Arts and Culture Centre" name is shared by five of these centres, namely those in St. John's (opened in 1967), Corner Brook, Gander, Stephenville, and Labrador City. The location in Grand Falls-Windsor was renamed the Gordon Pinsent Centre for the Arts in July 2005.

Memorial University of Newfoundland, also known as Memorial University or MUN (), is a public research university in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, based in St. John's, with satellite campuses in Corner Brook, elsewhere in Newfoundland and in Labrador, Saint Pierre, and Harlow, England. Memorial University offers certificate, diploma, undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate programs, as well as online courses and degrees. Founded in September 1925 as a living memorial to Newfoundlanders and Labradorians who died in the First World War, Memorial is the largest university in Atlantic Canada, and Newfoundland and Labrador's only university. As of 2018, there were a reported 1,330 faculty and 2,474 staff, supporting 18,000 students from nearly 100 countries.
