Johnson, Vermont

The Lamoille Senate District is one of 13 Vermont Senate districts included in the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2010 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020. A new plan will be developed in 2022 following the 2020 U.S. Census. The Lamoille District includes all of Lamoille County except the town of Wolcott which are in the Essex-Orleans district. As of the 2010 census, the state as a whole had a population of 625,741. As there are a total of 30 Senators, there were 20,294 residents per senator. The Lamoille District had a population of 20,625 in that same census. The district is apportioned one senator. The district's 20,625 residents per senator is 1.63% above the state average. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. Johnson is a village in the town of Johnson in Lamoille County, Vermont, United States. The population was 1,332 at the 2020 census.

The Nye Block, also known as the Johnson Landmark Building, was a historic commercial building at Main and Railroad Streets in Johnson, Vermont. Built in 1868, it was an elaborate example of Second Empire architecture, occupying a prominent position in the town center. It was destroyed by an arsonist in 1986. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

Northern Vermont University (NVU) was a public university in Johnson and Lyndon, Vermont. It was established in 2018 by the unification of the former Johnson State College and Lyndon State College. The university offered over 50 Bachelor's degree programs and Master's degree programs. On July 1, 2023, its two locations became campuses of the newly formed Vermont State University.

Johnson State College was a public liberal arts college in Johnson, Vermont. Founded in 1828 by John Chesamore, in 2018 Johnson State College was merged with the former Lyndon State College to create Northern Vermont University. In July 2023, Castleton University, Northern Vermont University-Johnson, Northern Vermont University-Lyndon, and Vermont Technical College merged to become Vermont State University.

The Railroad Street Bridge is a historic Pratt through truss bridge, carrying Railroad Street across the Lamoille River in Johnson, Vermont. It was built in 1928, after the state's devastating 1927 floods, and is one of its few surviving Pratt through truss bridges. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007 as Bridge 6.

The Power House Covered Bridge, also known as the School Street Covered Bridge, is a covered bridge from 1872 that crosses the Gihon River off State Route 100C in Johnson, Vermont, US. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. The bridge's name is from a now obsolete hydroelectric generating station just upstream from it. The bridge is of Queen post truss design by an unknown builder.

The Johnson Railroad Depot was a historic former railroad station on Railroad Street in Johnson, Vermont. Built in 1887, it was an excellent example of Victorian railroad architecture, serving as a gateway for the town's industrial products to markets nationwide. Converted to commercial use after rail service was discontinued on the line, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It has since been demolished; a modern building stands where it used to.

The Waterman Covered Bridge was an historic covered bridge in Johnson, Vermont that carried Waterman Road across Waterman Creek. Built in 1868, it was one of three surviving 19th-century bridges in the town. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, and collapsed in January 1982.

Lamoille County () is a county located in the U.S. state of Vermont. As of the 2020 census, the population was 25,945, and it is the third-least populous county in Vermont. Its shire town (county seat) is the town of Hyde Park, while Morristown is the county's largest town by population as well as its main commercial center. The county was created in 1835 from portions of Orleans, Franklin, Washington, and Chittenden Counties and organized the following year.
