Ramona Lutheran Christian School is a private Lutheran elementary school in Ramona, California, in the United States. Established in 1977, the school serves students in preschool through sixth grade and is the only private Christian school in Ramona. Ramona Lutheran Christian School is affiliated with the Pacific Southwest District of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod.

The population of the two CDPs, which does not include the fringe areas surrounding the CDPs, was 30,301 at the 2010 census, up from 25,223 at the 2000 census. The Ramona Community Planning Area had a population of 33,404 at the 2000 census. The January 1, 2006, population of the Ramona Community Planning Area is estimated to be 36,405 by the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG). USDA Hardiness Zones are 9b and 10a.

The university offers distance education and online academic degree programs designed to prepare people for professional ministry. The institution traces its roots to Vision International College (alternatively known as Vision Christian College) in Australia, which was founded in 1974 in Launceston, Tasmania, by Australian theologian and author Ken Chant. Together with Vision International College, City Vision University, and several other Christian educational institutions, Vision International University is a member institution of the Vision International Education Network.

Mason Valley is a valley in San Diego County, California. Mason Valley was named after a settler, James E. Mason who established a ranch in the valley in the later 19th century. The mouth of the valley is at an elevation of 1,995 feet / 608 meters, at the point where the valley narrows into a canyon where the Vallecito Wash continues as Vallecito Creek and passes between the Sawtooth Range and the Vallecito Mountains. The head of Mason Valley is at an elevation of 2550 feet at 33°01′05″N 116°28′53″W at the junction of Oriflamme Canyon and Rodriguez Canyon where Vallecito Wash has its source.

Rancho Cañada de San Vicente y Mesa del Padre Barona was a 13,316-acre (53.89 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day San Diego County, California given in 1846 by Governor Pío Pico to Juan Bautista Lopez. The grant was located in the San Vicente and Padre Barona Valleys, which lie south of Ramona. The area served as grazing lands for the Mission San Diego. Father José Barona served at the Mission San Diego from 1798 to 1810, before moving to the Mission San Juan Capistrano.

Ramona Valley is an American Viticultural Area (AVA) in San Diego County, California, centered around the unincorporated town of Ramona. It was the 162nd AVA established on December 7, 2005 by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Treasury after reviewing the petition submitted by the Ramona Vineyard Association, currently the Ramona Valley Vineyard Association (RVVA), proposing to establish a viticultural area in central San Diego County named "Ramona Valley." The viticultural area surrounding Ramona is located 28 mi (45 km) northeast of San Diego and lies entirely within the vast 3,251,042 acres (5,080 sq mi) multi-county South Coast AVA. It also is south of the two previously established viticultural areas within South Coast, Temecula Valley and San Pasqual Valley. The AVA encircles approximately 89,000 acres (139 sq mi) in a 14.5 by 9.5 miles (23.3 by 15.3 km) west-southwest to east-northeast oriented rectangular area. Ramona Valley is geographically a broad, flat valley surrounded by hills and mountains that isolates it from adjacent areas. The valley has an average vineyard elevation of 1,400 feet (430 m) and an annual average rainfall of 16.5 inches (419.1 mm). In 2005, the area had approximately 17 vineyards cultivating an estimated 45 acres (18 ha) of wine grapes. The petitioners noted the area is known for its distinctive microclimate, elevation, and soil attributes.

San Vicente Creek (Spanish for "St. Vincent") is a 22.2-mile-long (35.7 km) stream in San Diego County, California. It rises east of Ramona and flows southwest through the Cuyamaca Mountains into the San Vicente Reservoir, and subsequently to its confluence with the San Diego River just north of Lakeside.The West Branch San Vicente Creek flows 4.5 miles (7 km) from the west until it reaches the San Vicente Reservoir.

San Diego Country Estates, commonly referred to as the Estates, is a valley resort populace composed of several neighborhoods associated with the unincorporated community of Ramona, California. The Estates are a census-designated place in North County, a region of the San Diego metropolitan area. The Estates is just east of the North County city of Poway and southeast of Ramona; 38 miles (61 km) northeast of San Diego and 46 miles (74 km) from the regional center of Carlsbad. San Diego Country Estates had a population of 10,109 at the 2010 census, up from 9,262 at the 2000 census.
