The Bateman Hotel, previously known as Howell Hotel or Kellogg Hotel, located in Lowville, New York, is now a conglomerate of condos. At one time, it was a hotel with a kitchen, a dining room, and a saloon. The hotel is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

The Lowville Masonic Temple is a historic Colonial Revival building located in Lowville, New York. The building was constructed in 1928 as a meeting hall for the local Masonic lodge. In 2002 it was sold to the Lewis County Historical Society, and was used as a local history museum. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 19, 2012.

Stoddard–O'Connor House is a historic home located at Lowville in Lewis County, New York. It was built in 1898, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, asymmetrical frame dwelling with Queen Anne and Colonial Revival style design elements. It features a half-height entry porch and projecting stacked bay. Also on the property is a contributing carriage house (c. 1900). It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Lowville is a village in Lewis County, New York, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 3,470. The village is in the Black River Valley, between the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains and the Tug Hill Plateau, in an area often referred to as the North Country. It is located in the center of Lewis County, in the southeastern part of the similarly named town of Lowville. Lowville is the county seat of Lewis County. The name of both the village and town is derived from Nicholas Low, an early landowner of Dutch descent, who had emigrated with his wife and three small children from a rural village outside of Amsterdam in 1778.

Lewis County Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument is a historic American Civil War monument located at Lowville in Lewis County, New York. It was built in 1883 by Monumental Bronze Company of Bridgeport, Connecticut, and is constructed of sand-cast zinc. It is 20 feet high and 78 inches square and consists of five parts: a three stepped base, a plinth, a tapered column, a capital, and on the top a soldier. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Lowville Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church located at Lowville in Lewis County, New York. It consists of rectangular, stone, gable roofed main block erected in 1831 and an attached gable roofed wing added in 1906. The front facade features a pavilion with triangular pediment surmounted by a staged wood bell tower that contains the "town clock." It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

The Franklin B. Hough House is a historic house at 7629 Collins Street in Lowville, New York. Built 1860–61, it was the home of the "father of American forestry," Franklin Hough (1822-1885), a medical doctor, scientist, historian who served as the first chief of the United States Division of Forestry, the predecessor of the United States Forest Service. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1963, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966.

Lewis County Fairgrounds is a historic fairground and national historic district located at Lowville in Lewis County, New York. The district includes one contributing building and five contributing structures all constructed about 1876. They are the Grandstand, half-mile Race track, Antiques Building, Taffy Stand, Information Booth, and the balldiamond bleacher stands. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Methodist Episcopal Church of West Martinsburg, also known as West Martinsburg Methodist Church, is a historic Methodist Episcopal church located at West Martinsburg in Lewis County, New York. It dates to about 1840 and is of frame construction with clapboard siding. It is rectangular in plan with a simple gable roof. It features a two-stage bell tower surmounted by a steeple. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Lewis County is a county located in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of New York, situated between the Adirondack Mountains and the Tug Hill Plateau, within the state's North Country region. As of the 2020 census, the county had a population of 26,582, making it the fourth-least populous county in New York. Its county seat is Lowville. Named after Morgan Lewis, Governor of New York at the time of its establishment in 1805, Lewis County was formed from part of Oneida County and has undergone multiple jurisdictional changes since the colonial era. The area was originally inhabited by the Iroquois Confederacy before being incorporated into colonial and later state holdings following the American Revolutionary War. Settlement expanded in the late 18th century after Macomb's Purchase, and the county has historical significance related to early militia formations and its role in the War of 1812. Geographically, the county includes portions of Adirondack Park, the Black River Valley, and is part of New York’s Snowbelt, receiving some of the highest snowfall totals in the eastern United States. Its economy is primarily based on agriculture, forestry, and renewable energy, with growing contributions from tourism and winter recreation. Demographically, the population is predominantly White, with a rural character and low population density. Politically, Lewis County has a long-standing pattern of supporting Republican candidates, with only a few deviations since the Civil War. The county is home to several small towns and villages, including Copenhagen, Croghan, and Lyons Falls, and hosts one of the oldest agricultural fairs in the state, the Lewis County Fair.
