Church Mission Society Boys Higher Secondary School (CMSHSS) is a higher secondary school located in Thrissur city, of Kerala state, in India. The school was started by CMS missionary in 1845. CMS Boys HSS, Thrissur is one of the oldest school in the state of Kerala. The school gives instruction in Malayalam and English and follows the Kerala state syllabus. It has classes from LKG to 12th (+2) standard.

Vadakkechira (Malayalam: വടക്കെചിറ) is one of the four oldest ponds in Thrissur city of Kerala in India. It was built by Shakthan Thampuran (1751-1805) and is one of Thrissur's famous landmarks. It is owned by Cochin Devaswom Board.

Thekkinkadu Maidanam is situated in the middle of Thrissur city of Kerala state in India. This hillock which seats the Vadakkumnathan Temple, is an open ground in the centre of the Thrissur city which is under the custody of the Cochin Devaswom Board (CDB). It hosts the spectacular cultural festival Thrissur Pooram, which is considered the Mother of all Poorams in Kerala.

Vadakkumnathan Temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva at city of Thrissur, of Kerala state in India. This temple is a classical example of the architectural style of Kerala and has one monumental tower on each of the four sides in addition to a kuttambalam. Mural paintings depicting various scenes from the Mahabharata can be seen inside the temple. The shrines and the Kuttambalam display vignettes carved in wood. The temple, along with the mural paintings, has been declared as a National Monument by India under the AMASR Act. According to popular local lore, this is the first temple built by Parasurama, the sixth avatara of Vishnu. Thekkinkadu Maidan, encircling the Vadakkumnathan Temple, is the main venue of the renowned Thrissur Pooram festival.In the year 2012 the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has recommended 14 sites, including Vadakkumnathan Temple and palaces, from Kerala to include in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The temple is also the first one among the 108 Shiva Temples in ancient Kerala, established by Parasurama.

Shakthan Thampuran Palace is situated in City of Thrissur in Kerala state, India. It is named as Vadakkekara Palace, was reconstructed in Kerala-Dutch style in 1795 by Ramavarma Thampuran of the erstwhile Princely State of Cochin, well as Sakthan Thampuran (Greatest ruler of the Cochin dynasty) is preserved by Archaeological Department. The palace was converted into a museum in 2005 by State.

Government Model Higher Secondary School For Boys is a Kerala Government higher secondary school situated in Thrissur City, Kerala, India. It was started in 1836 and is the oldest school in Kerala and Thrissur District.

Paramekkavu Bagavathi Temple is one of the largest Bagavathi temples in Kerala located in Thrissur City. Sakthan Thampuran ordained the temples into two groups, namely "Paramekkavu side" and "Thiruvambady side" for Thrissur Pooram which is the biggest festival in South India and Kerala. These two groups are headed by the principal participants, Paramekkavu Bagavathi Temple at Thrissur Swaraj Round and Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple at Shoranur road. The two temples are hardly 500 metres apart. Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple is one of the two groups participating in Thrissur Pooram. The Paramekkavu temple devaswom have a school known as Paramekkavu Vidya Mandir at MLA road near Kutoor and one KG section near to the temple itself.

Vivekodayam Boys Higher Secondary School (V.B.H.S.S) is an aided school in Naikkanal, near Thrissur Town, Kerala, India. The school was established by Vivekodayam Samajom under the leadership of Rama Varma Appan Thampuran in 1917. Now, Therambil Ramakrishnan is the manager of the school.

Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) is a state university located in Thrissur, Kerala, India. It was established by the Kerala University of Health Sciences Act 2010, for ensuring proper and systematic instruction, teaching, training, and research and also to have uniformity in the various academic programmes in medical and allied subjects in the State of Kerala. The University is mandated to affiliate all Colleges and Institutions in Kerala, imparting professional education in health care. So far 296 professional colleges have been affiliated to the University. The Governor of Kerala serves as the University Chancellor.

VKN Menon Indoor Stadium is an indoor stadium situated in the city of Thrissur in Kerala, India. The stadium is owned by Kerala State Sports Council. The stadium is used for badminton, judo and weightlifting. The stadium has got a complete makeover for 35th National Games with maple wood flooring, advanced acoustics facilities, has 10 courts and stadium also has air- conditioned hall and modern arena lighting.

Kerala Lalithakala Academy for Fine Arts is an autonomous body which was established in 1962 to promote art and artistic heritage, based at Thrissur in Kerala. Murali Cheeroth is the newly appointed chairman of Kerala Lalitha Kala Akademi on 2022 January. Though the Government of Kerala provides funding and support for the academy, the administration of the academy is designed to be autonomous by its constitution. The academy recognizes superior art works every year through its awards. The aim of the Academy is to promote the culture, painting, plastic and visual arts.

Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple is a Hindu temple in the city of Thrissur in Kerala, India. The main deities of this temple are Krishna in the form of a child, and Bhadrakali, both having equal importance. There are sub-shrines for Ganesha, Sastha and Brahmarakshas, and there is a sub-temple for Ganesha behind the temple. The temple is one of the two rival groups participating in the Thrissur Pooram. The temple was home to an elephant named Thiruvambadi Sivasundar who died in 2018.
