Vadakkechira

Shakthan Thampuran Palace is situated in City of Thrissur in Kerala state, India. It is named as Vadakkekara Palace, was reconstructed in Kerala-Dutch style in 1795 by Ramavarma Thampuran of the erstwhile Princely State of Cochin, well as Sakthan Thampuran (Greatest ruler of the Cochin dynasty) is preserved by Archaeological Department. The palace was converted into a museum in 2005 by State.

Swaraj Round or Thrissur Round is the local name for a circular road which is about 2 km long in the centre of the city of Thrissur in Kerala, India, surrounding the 65-acre (260,000 m2) hillock called the Thekkinkadu Maidan which seats the Vadakkumnathan Temple. Swaraj Round is the biggest Roundabout in South Asia. It is a financial, commercial and business center in Kerala. Seventeen roads connect to it. Encircling the Thekkinkadu Maidan, Swaraj Round surrounds the small hillock on which the Vadakkunnathan Temple dedicated to Shiva is built. It is the largest circular road surrounding a ground in India and the second largest roundabout in the world. Swaraj Round is a commercial and shopping area of Thrissur with malls, shopping centers, and jewelry and textile shops. There are two pedestrian subways in the Swaraj Round, one near Paramekkavu temple and other at M.O. Road Junction. The Swaraj Round is the location of the Republic parade and the Pulikali on the fourth Onam day, when Pulikali troupes from different parts of the district perform there.

Church Mission Society Boys Higher Secondary School (CMSHSS) is a higher secondary school located in Thrissur city, of Kerala state, in India. The school was started by CMS missionary in 1845. CMS Boys HSS, Thrissur is one of the oldest school in the state of Kerala. The school gives instruction in Malayalam and English and follows the Kerala state syllabus. Government Model Higher Secondary School For Boys is a Kerala Government higher secondary school situated in Thrissur City, Kerala, India. It was started in 1836 and is the oldest school in Kerala and Thrissur District.

Kerala Lalithakala Academy for Fine Arts is an autonomous body which was established in 1962 to promote art and artistic heritage, based at Thrissur in Kerala. Murali Cheeroth is the newly appointed chairman of Kerala Lalitha Kala Akademi on 2022 January. Though the Government of Kerala provides funding and support for the academy, the administration of the academy is designed to be autonomous by its constitution. The academy recognizes superior art works every year through its awards. The aim of the Academy is to promote the culture, painting, plastic and visual arts.

Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi is located in Thrissur city, of Kerala, in India. It was established on 26 April 1958, inaugurated by then Indian Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The academy started a cultural centre at the Bahrain Kerala Samajam in Bahrain on 1 October 2010. The academy presents awards for various fields like music, dance, theatre and traditional art forms. Thekkinkadu Maidanam is situated in the middle of Thrissur city of Kerala state in India. This hillock which seats the Vadakkumnathan Temple, is an open ground in the centre of the Thrissur city which is under the custody of the Cochin Devaswom Board (CDB). It hosts the spectacular cultural festival Thrissur Pooram, which is considered the Mother of all Poorams in Kerala.

Aswini Hospital is a private hospital situated in Thrissur, in the Kerala state of India. It is situated near Vadakkechira Bus stand and Poonkunam railway station in Thrissur Corporation. Established as a 40-bed hospital in 1987, it is now a 300-bed Multi-Super Speciality General Hospital. The hospital also runs the Aswini School of Nursing in Nadathara, Thrissur. The hospital offers treatment to the people of Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts. Sugathan K K is the managing director of the hospital and O.P Achuthankutty is the chairman. Paramekkavu Bagavathi Temple is one of the largest Bagavathi temples in Kerala located in Thrissur City. Sakthan Thampuran ordained the temples into two groups, namely "Paramekkavu side" and "Thiruvambady side" for Thrissur Pooram which is the biggest festival in South India and Kerala. These two groups are headed by the principal participants, Paramekkavu Bagavathi Temple at Thrissur Swaraj Round and Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple at Shoranur road. The two temples are hardly 500 metres apart. Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple is one of the two groups participating in Thrissur Pooram. The Paramekkavu temple devaswom have a school known as Paramekkavu Vidya Mandir at MLA road near Kutoor and one KG section near to the temple itself.

Vadakkumnathan Temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva at city of Thrissur, of Kerala state in India. This temple is a classical example of the architectural style of Kerala and has one monumental tower on each of the four sides in addition to a kuttambalam. Mural paintings depicting various scenes from the Mahabharata can be seen inside the temple. The shrines and the Kuttambalam display vignettes carved in wood. The temple, along with the mural paintings, has been declared as a National Monument by India under the AMASR Act. According to popular local lore, this is the first temple built by Parasurama, the sixth avatara of Vishnu. Thekkinkadu Maidan, encircling the Vadakkumnathan Temple, is the main venue of the renowned Thrissur Pooram festival.In the year 2012 the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has recommended 14 sites, including Vadakkumnathan Temple and palaces, from Kerala to include in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The temple is also the first one among the 108 Shiva Temples in ancient Kerala, established by Parasurama.

Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple is a Hindu temple in the city of Thrissur in Kerala, India. The main deities of this temple are Krishna in the form of a child, and Bhadrakali, both having equal importance. There are sub-shrines for Ganesha, Sastha and Brahmarakshas, and there is a sub-temple for Ganesha behind the temple. The temple is one of the two rival groups participating in the Thrissur Pooram. The temple was home to an elephant named Thiruvambadi Sivasundar who died in 2018.
