Whitefield is a census-designated place (CDP) and the main village in the town of Whitefield in Coos County, New Hampshire, United States. The population of the CDP was 1,460 at the 2020 census, out of 2,490 people in the entire town of Whitefield.

The Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa – formerly called the Mountain View House – is an historic grand hotel at 101 Mountain View Road in Whitefield, New Hampshire, United States, with claims to dating back to 1865. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa is a member of Historic Hotels of America, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.It reportedly grew from a farm, which added a guest house. In reference to that, the current resort includes a farm with chicken, sheep, goats, and Scottish Highland cattle.It claims to have the oldest operating elevator in the state of New Hampshire.

Forest Lake State Park is a 397-acre (161 ha) state park in Dalton, New Hampshire. The park is free to use, open year-round, and offers a 200-foot sandy beach on the shore of Forest Lake. Activities in the park include swimming, picnicking, mountain biking, fishing, and boating.

Mount Washington Regional Airport (IATA: HIE, ICAO: KHIE, FAA LID: HIE) is a public airport located 3 miles (5 km) east of downtown Whitefield in Coos County, New Hampshire, USA. The Civil Air Patrol maintains a composite squadron at this location. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021, in which it is categorized as a local general aviation facility.The airport has a single, newly re-paved runway that is 4,001 feet (1,220 m) long, 75 feet (23 m) wide, at an average altitude of 1,074 feet (327 m) MSL, beneath the Yankee One Military Operations Area (MOA). It features pilot-controlled lighting. Traffic pattern altitude is 2,000 feet (610 m) MSL, and pilots must make right traffic for runway 28 unless winds require use of Runway 10 during landing. Scheduled runway improvements have been completed and accepted which include re-alignment and resurfacing of a lengthened runway from 3,495 to 4,100 feet (1,065 to 1,250 m). Local attractions include: Mountain View Grand Hotel 2 miles (3.2 km), Mount Washington Hotel 15 miles (24 km) (including Bretton Woods Mountain Resort), Mount Washington Cog Railway, Santa's Village (9 miles (14 km)) and Six Gun City (8 miles (13 km)) theme parks (Jefferson). Other local towns include Franconia (and its Cannon Mountain Ski Area) (18 miles (29 km)), Littleton (14 miles (23 km)), Bethlehem (11 miles (18 km)) and Lancaster (10 miles (16 km)), where the Coos County Fair is held each summer. A regional view can be enjoyed from the lookout tower at historic Weeks State Park, located on Mount Prospect in Lancaster.

The Johns River (also called "John's River"), in northern New Hampshire, arises at Cherry Pond in Jefferson and runs approximately 14 miles (23 km), generally northwest, to the Connecticut River. It passes through Hazens Pond, near the Mount Washington Regional Airport, traverses the town of Whitefield, where it is crossed by U.S. Route 3, and then crosses the town of Dalton before joining the Connecticut. It is named for an early hunter and trapper of the area, John Glines, who established a fishing and hunting camp in the area in the 18th century. Another nearby river, the Israel River, is named for John's brother Israel. The river basin drains numerous small ponds, including Martin Meadow Pond, Weeks Pond, Weed Pond, Clark Pond, Burns Pond (formerly Long Pond), Richardson Pond/Marsh, Hazens Pond, Cherry and Little Cherry Pond, Forest Lake and Mirror Lake (formerly Blake Pond). Tributaries include Chase Brook, Carroll Stream, Bear Brook, Leonard Brook, Cherry Mountain Brook, Carter Brook and Bog Brook. The watershed area is bounded by the eastern slope of the Dalton Mountain Range, the southern slope of Prospect Mountain and the western slope of Cherry Mountain (also called Mount Martha).

The Weeks Estate is a historic country estate on U.S. Route 3 in Lancaster, New Hampshire. Built in 1912 for John Wingate Weeks, atop Prospect Mountain overlooking the Connecticut River, it is one of the state's best preserved early 20th-century country estates. It was given to the state by Weeks' children, and is now Weeks State Park. It features hiking trails, expansive views of the countryside from the stone observation tower, and a small museum in the main estate house. A small portion of property at the mountain summit was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, while the park as a whole was listed in 2023.

The Mount Orne Bridge is a covered bridge over the Connecticut River between Lancaster, New Hampshire, and Lunenburg, Vermont. It joins Elm Street (New Hampshire Route 135) in South Lancaster with River Road (Town Highway 1) in Lunenburg. Built in 1911, it is one of two Howe truss bridges across the Connecticut River. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

The Little River is a 7.4-mile-long (11.9 km) river in the White Mountains of New Hampshire in the United States. It is a tributary of the Ammonoosuc River and part of the Connecticut River watershed. The Little River rises in the White Mountain National Forest in a small cirque in the Twin Range, with Zealand Mountain to the east, Mount Guyot to the south, and South Twin Mountain to the west. The river flows north into the town of Bethlehem, through a deep valley between North Twin Mountain to the west and Mount Hale to the east. Eventually the river enters the town of Carroll near the community of Twin Mountain, passes under U.S. Route 3, and ends at the Ammonoosuc River. The Little River is a public water supply for the village of Twin Mountain. A portion of the river is paralleled by (and crossed three times by) the North Twin Trail, a hiking trail.

The eastern half of the town is within the White Mountain National Forest. The Appalachian Trail crosses a small portion of the town in the south. The main village of the town, where 826 people resided at the 2020 census, is defined as the Bethlehem census-designated place (CDP), and is located at the junction of U.S. Route 302 with New Hampshire Route 142. The town also includes the villages of Maplewood and Pierce Bridge.
