Lunenburg, Massachusetts

Lunenburg is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Lunenburg in Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 1,760 at the 2010 census.

The Lunenburg Historic District is a historic district encompassing the historic center of Lunenburg, Massachusetts. The district is centered on a stretch of Main Street which connects two triangular intersections. It includes many of the town's oldest buildings, including the c. 1724 Cushing House, and the c. 1730 Stillman Stone House. Three of the town's most significant institutional buildings were built before 1850: the town hall (a former Unitarian church), the Congregational church, and the Methodist church. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Lunenburg High School is the high school of the town of Lunenburg, Massachusetts, United States in north-eastern Worcester County. The school educates students from Lunenburg. In 2016, a new Middle/High School building was completed.

Hickory Hills Lake is the largest private lake in Massachusetts, located in the town of Lunenburg in Worcester County.

Flyer Comet was a wooden roller coaster located at Whalom Park in Lunenburg, Massachusetts. The roller coaster was built in 1940 and operated until is permanent closure in 2000. In 2006, after the lift motor and part of its electronics were gutted, Flyer Comet was demolished. The tracks were then reclaimed by the park.

Whalom Park was an amusement park located on Lake Whalom in Lunenburg, Massachusetts, that operated from 1893 to 2000. The site was redeveloped into a 240-unit apartment complex.

WTYN (91.7 FM) is a radio station airing a Christian format licensed to serve Lunenburg, Massachusetts. The station is owned by Horizon Christian Fellowship and is an affiliate of RenewFM. WTYN's programming consists of Christian music and Christian talk and teaching programs such as Turning Point with David Jeremiah, and Truth for Life with Alistair Begg. The allocation of 91.7 to Lunenburg follows a long drawn out dispute involving WAVM, University of Massachusetts Boston (owner of WUMB-FM, whose Stow repeater WUMG started during this time and shares time with WAVM), and Living Proof, Inc (the original applicant of what became WTYN).

North Leominster is a village or neighborhood of the city of Leominster, Massachusetts. Settlement started in 1725, and by 1740 Leominster was separated from the town of Lancaster, Massachusetts. Settlers north of North Nashua River were in the North village. The name changed over time from North Village to North Leominster. In 1851, a new post office was established in North Leominster giving itself the feel as a separate town. In 1845, when the railroad from Boston was extended to Fitchburg it ran through the North Village parallel to the river. In 2005, the MBTA finished construction of a new commuter rail station at North Leominster on the Fitchburg Line from Boston. North Leominster is accessible from the Lancaster, MA line on MA Route 2 by taking the exit for Harvard Street, or from the exit for Massachusetts Route 13.

WLPZ-LP (95.1 FM) is a community radio station licensed to Leominster, Massachusetts and serves the Leominster area. Its broadcast license is held by the City of Leominster and is operated by a staff of all volunteers and broadcasts 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The day-to-day operation of the station is overseen by the station manager Sonny Levine, a resident of the City of Leominster and volunteer. The station also has a Program Director, Scott Cloutier, Administrative Assistant, Denise Sutton, Sales and marketing director, Carol Levine and Community Relations Mary Ellen Kelley. WLPZ's studios are located in the city's Gallagher Building, its transmitter is located off Sunrise Avenue.

North Leominster station is an MBTA Commuter Rail station in Leominster, Massachusetts. It serves the Fitchburg Line. It is located at 34 Nashua Street, east of Main Street. The station, which is accessible, has two side platforms to serve the line's two tracks (the outbound platform is only able to be reached by crossing the tracks from the inbound platform). There is a small freight yard adjacent to the parking lot and mainline tracks on the south end of the inbound platform. A garage opened in 2014 to nearly triple parking capacity at the station, which serves as a park-and-ride stop for Route 2 and I-190, to a total of 436 spaces.

The Billerica Town Common District is a historic district encompassing what remains of the 1655 town common of Billerica, Massachusetts, and the properties surrounding it. The district is roughly bounded by Cummings Street, Concord Road, and Boston Road. It includes the site of the town's first meeting house, and a variety of predominantly 19th-century structures, including two churches and the town hall.The common was originally set aside for Captain Daniel Gookin in 1655, but reverted to the community when he did not claim it. The first meeting house was built in 1663, and part of the land was set aside as a militia training ground in 1694. It was used as a muster point for the local militia when the American Revolutionary War broke out in 1775.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
