Sharon, Massachusetts

Sharon is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Sharon in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 6,184 at the 2020 census.

Sharon High School (SHS) is a public high school serving the residents of the town of Sharon, Massachusetts, United States. It serves grades 9 to 12, and is a part of Sharon Public Schools district. The building is located at 181 Pond Street, less than a mile away from the town center. The student body is 52 percent male and 47 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 39.6 percent. In 2011, Sharon High School received a National Blue Ribbon Schools award by the U.S. Department of Education. Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement (AP) coursework and exams. The AP participation rate at Sharon High School is 62 percent.

The Charles R. Wilber School (also formerly Sharon High School) is a historic school building at 75-85 South Main Street in Sharon, Massachusetts. Located on a block facing Sharon Town Hall, the large two story brick Colonial and Classical Revival building was built in 1921-22 and enlarged in 1928–29. The older portion of the building, now the south building, was constructed to serve as an elementary school, and was named the Charles R. Wilber School. The 1928 enlargement, including the north wing and the shaft of the T-shaped structure, were done to convert the building to a high school. The building served as Sharon's high school until 1957, after which it became an intermediate school. In 2009 a new wing was added to the building, and it was converted to residential use.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.The Sharon DPW toured the abandoned building in 2002, which was uploaded to YouTube in 2011.

Sharon station is an MBTA Commuter Rail station in Sharon, Massachusetts. It serves the Providence/Stoughton Line. The station has two separate entrances for inbound trains to Boston and for outbound trains to Providence and beyond. Sharon station is the only public transportation in the Sharon area, as there are no public bus lines in the town. New platforms were constructed in 2014 to make the station accessible.

The Sharon Historic District is a historic district on both sides of N. Main Street from Post Office Square to School Street in Sharon, Massachusetts. The area includes the earliest formally laid out part of Sharon, when it was established as a parish of Stoughton in 1740. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Lake Massapoag is a 353-acre (1.43 km2), natural, springfed lake located in Sharon, Massachusetts. The name Massapoag is Algonquin, meaning "large water".Lake Massapoag is the headwaters of the Massapoag Brook, which flows into the Neponset River.

Stoneholm is a historic house in Sharon, Massachusetts. The 2+1⁄2-story stone house was built c. 1848, and is a distinctive Victorian house, exhibiting Second Empire and Italianate details executed in granite from the local Moyles Quarry near Borderland State Park. Built for Horace Augustus Lothrop. The house has a mansard roof with flared eaves, with a rooftop deck and cupola. The main facade is divided into three bays, with the entry in the central bay, sheltered by a wraparound single-story porch. The center bay on the second level has a pair of round-arch windows, a feature echoed in the roof dormer directly above.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Warner Trail is a 30 mi (48 km) New England hiking trail which extends from Diamond Hill in the northeast corner of Rhode Island northeast through Norfolk County, Massachusetts to Canton, 13 miles (21 km) south of Boston.

Moose Hill Wildlife Sanctuary is a 1,971 acres (798 ha) wildlife sanctuary located in Sharon, Massachusetts. The property is the oldest property of the Massachusetts Audubon Society, established in 1916. It is adjacent to Moose Hill Farm, which is owned by the Trustees of Reservations. The nature center on Moose Hill Parkway was acquired in 1990. The center displays rotating exhibits throughout the year. The sanctuary consists of habitats including forest, freshwater marsh, meadow, eskers and kettle holes. Over 160 species of birds have been observed on the property.

Moose Hill Farm is a 347-acre (140 ha) open space preserve and historic farm complex located in Sharon, Massachusetts near the 450 feet (140 m) summit of Moose Hill. The property, acquired in 2005 by the land conservation non-profit organization The Trustees of Reservations, includes farmland, woodlots, 21 farm buildings, hiking trails, stands of mature American Chestnuts, and scenic vistas of the Boston skyline. Moose Hill Farm is part of a larger area of protected open space including state land and the Massachusetts Audubon Society's Moose Hill Wildlife Sanctuary.

Sharon Memorial Park is a Jewish cemetery located in Sharon, Massachusetts. This memorial park, established in 1948, the same year as the formation of Israel, is situated on 317 acres of land within the towns of Sharon and Canton.
