Fothergill is a hamlet in Cumbria, England. There is a headland of the same name, Fothergill Head.

Flimby is an English coastal village and former civil parish in the Allerdale district in Cumbria. It was historically in Cumberland. It currently forms part of the parish of Maryport and the Flimby ward of Allerdale Council. It is included in the Maryport South county division of Cumbria County Council. In 1951 the parish had a population of 2066.

Milefortlet 25 was a Milefortlet of the Roman Cumbrian Coast defences. These milefortlets and intervening stone watchtowers extended from the western end of Hadrian's Wall, along the Cumbrian coast and were linked by a wooden palisade. They were contemporary with defensive structures on Hadrian's Wall. Milefortlet 25 is the southernmost known of the fortlets of the Cumberland coast, but there is nothing to see on the ground, as Milefortlet 25 lies in an industrial area of Maryport.

Seaton is a large village and civil parish in the Allerdale borough of Cumbria, England. Historically part of Cumberland, near the Lake District National Park in England. It is home to around 5,000 people and is one of the largest villages in England. The population of the parish was measured in the 2011 Census as 5,022. Historically a part of Cumberland, it is situated on the north side of the River Derwent, across from the town of Workington, and close to the smaller village of Camerton. Seaton forms part of the Borough of Allerdale.

Seaton railway station served the village of Seaton, near Workington in Cumberland (now in Cumbria), England.The station was opened by the Cleator and Workington Junction Railway (C&WJR) in 1888 on its new "Northern Extension" from Calva Junction on the northern edge of Workington to the Maryport and Carlisle Railway's Derwent Branch at Linefoot. The C&WJR built this 7-mile-30-chain long (11.9 km) line to connect the C&WJR with Carlisle and beyond. The line was double track from Workington to Seaton, then single to Linefoot Junction. Most stations on C&WJR lines had heavy industrial neighbours, such as ironworks next to Cleator Moor West, or served primarily industrial workforces, such as Keekle Colliers' Platform. Seaton, however, was a fairly isolated country village.

Maryport RNLI Station, not to be confused with Maryport Rescue, was located on Marine Road at the harbour in Maryport, a town sitting just outside the Lake District National Park, on the north west coast of Cumberland, Cumbria. A lifeboat was first stationed at Maryport in 1865, by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). After 84 years of operation, Maryport RNLI Lifeboat Station was closed in 1949. In 1978, the loss of three lives from a local fishing boat prompted the establishment of Maryport Inshore Rescue, an independent lifeboat service, which continues to this day. The Ellen is a river in the English county of Cumbria, flowing from Skiddaw in the Northern Fells to the Solway Firth at Maryport. It was historically in the county of Cumberland. It is approximately 25 miles (40.2 km) in length.

Maryport railway station is a railway station serving the coastal town of Maryport in Cumbria, England. It is on the Cumbrian Coast Line, which runs between Carlisle and Barrow-in-Furness. It is owned by Network Rail and managed by Northern Trains. It is unstaffed and passengers must buy their ticket on the train or at an automatic ticket machine outside the platform. Step-free access to the platform is available; train running information is provided by digital information screens and timetable posters. A new "eco-friendly" waiting shelter was erected at the station in the autumn 2011 (at a cost of £120,000) to replace the more basic facilities previously offered.The station is somewhat unusual in that it consists of a single bi-directional platform rather than the usual two side platforms used elsewhere on the double-track sections of the Cumbrian Coast line. Southbound trains have to cross over to the northbound line to reach the platform before returning to the correct line south of the station. This can cause delays if two trains are scheduled to call in quick succession or if one or more trains are running late. Network Rail plans to address this issue as part of a future resignalling scheme.

Camerton Colliery Halt railway station was an unadvertised halt for workers at one or both of the collieries at Camerton, near Cockermouth in Cumberland (now in Cumbria), England.

Camerton is a small village and civil parish in Cumbria, historically part of Cumberland, near the Lake District National Park in England. According to older maps, it was originally called "Camberton". The village is situated about 1 mile (1.6 km) north-east of Seaton, 3.9 miles (6.3 km) north-east of Workington and 7.8 miles (12.6 km) west of Cockermouth. It's linked by road to Great Broughton and Flimby, and there was a small footbridge over the river to Great Clifton however this was destroyed by the floods of November 2009. It has a population of 172, increasing slightly to 174 at the 2011 Census.
