The University of Maine at Farmington (UMaine Farmington or UMF) is a public liberal arts college in Farmington, Maine. It is part of the University of Maine System and a founding member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges.

Mantor Library is an academic library at the University of Maine at Farmington in Franklin County, Maine. The library was dedicated on June 15, 1965.

The First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, also known as the New Old South Congregational Church, is a historic church at 235 Main Street in Farmington, Maine. The congregation's present sanctuary is a brick Romanesque structure designed by George M. Coombs and was completed in 1887. It is the town's finest 19th-century church, and one of the most architecturally sophisticated in the region. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. The congregation, established in 1814, celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2014.

Merrill Hall, located at Main and Academy Streets in Farmington, Maine, is the oldest building on the campus of the University of Maine at Farmington. It was designed by George M. Coombs of Lewiston and built in 1898, replacing the school's original 1864 building, but includes an ell dating to 1888. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It currently houses administrative offices of the university.

The Garage at 219 Main Street in Farmington, Maine, was once a Free Will Baptist Meetinghouse. Built in 1835, it is one of a relatively small number of 19th-century brick meeting houses, and its history exhibits the creative reuse of structures in rural Maine. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The Hiram Ramsdell House, also called the Octagon House, is an historic octagonal house located at High and Perham streets in Farmington, Maine. Built in 1858 by mason Cyrus Ramsdell, it was added to the United States National Register of Historic Places on December 4, 1973.

The Little Red Schoolhouse, also known as Briggs Schoolhouse, is a historic schoolhouse in Farmington, Maine. The one-room wood-frame schoolhouse was built in 1852, and originally stood on the Wilton Road (Maine State Route 4) at Red Schoolhouse Road. It served Farmington as the Briggs District school until 1958, and is one of the community's few surviving district school buildings. It was then used as a space for special needs students before being finally closed in 1969. It was moved the Franklin Agricultural Society fairgrounds on High Street in 2007. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. It is open to the public during the annual Farmington Fair.

Greenacre is a historical house in Farmington, Maine. It is set on a large lot bounded by Court, Fountain, and Orchard Streets, northeast of Farmington's downtown area. Built in 1880, it is one of the largest and most ornate 19th-century houses in Franklin County. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Franklin County Courthouse is a courthouse located in Farmington, Maine, the county seat of Franklin County. The 1885 courthouse represents a sophisticated design by George M. Coombs, with an addition in 1917 by Coombs' son, Harry Coombs. The building, the county's first purpose-built courthouse, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Temple Stream is a small river in Franklin County, Maine, United States. It is located in the Kennebec River watershed.It is named for the town of Temple, Maine. Temple's Intervale Road runs along the stream's southern banks, while Cummings Hill Road crosses it, near it its intersection with Maple Street. The stream is sourced from Jessie Pond, around 4.5 miles (7.2 km) north of Temple, and flows into Sandy River, just to the east of West Farmington.In 2022, the Walton's Mill Dam in Farmington was demolished, allowing Temple Stream to flow freely through Walton's Mill for the first time in 240 years. The change was made to allow fish passage, in turn protecting the endangered Atlantic salmon, which have been spawning at the site.In 2005, Bill Roorbach published Temple Stream: A Rural Odyssey. It is also frequently mentioned in A Soldier's Son: An American Boyhood During World War II (2006) by John E. Hodgkins.
