The Unicentro Medellín Mall (Spanish: Centro Comercial Unicentro Medellín) is a mall located in the western part of the city of Medellín, in front of the campus of the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana. It has 91,000 square metres of built area, 271 commercial premises, 16 offices, 1,000 parking spaces for cars and 400 spaces for motorcycles, as well as a bicycle parking lot with approximately 104 spaces. Additionally, it has a charging station for cars, motorcycles and electric bicycles. It has a monthly traffic of one million people.

Parques del Río Medellín ('Parks of the Medellín River') is a linear park located in the central area of the Colombian city of Medellín that integrates both banks of the Medellín River, which crosses the city from south to north. This work contemplates in its design the improvement of infrastructure, landscaping and vegetation, with the aim of becoming a metropolitan mobility corridor, and the main environmental and public space axis to encourage the meeting of citizens. Designed by the Colombian firm Latitud Taller de Arquitectura y Ciudad, their construction started in 2015 in the western side. It includes in its design 185 km of level roads, 82 km of underground roads, and 22 km of covered roads; 32 km of cycle paths, 180 hectares to connect guardian hills and the planting of 100 thousand trees.

Sculpture Park (Spanish: Parque de las Esculturas) is a sculpture garden at the foot of Nutibara Hill in Medellín, Colombia and the first of its kind in the country. The park contains 10 modern and abstract sculptures by famous Colombian and international artists such as Edgar Negret (Colombia), Otto Herbert Hajek (Germany), and Sergio de Camargo (Brazil).Its closest metro station is Industriales. The park is free to the public and is open from 6 am to midnight.

Estadio is the fourth station on line B of the Medellín Metro from the center going west. It is an elevated station named after the nearby Atanasio Girardot Sports Complex, which is the main area for sports activities in the Medellin Metropolitan Area. The sports complex hosted the 2010 South American Games and is where the two biggest football clubs in Medellín play, Atlético Nacional and Independiente Medellín. Located nearby are the headquarters for the daily newspaper El Mundo, the Pontifical Bolivarian and Luis Amigó Catholic universities, as well as the Unicentro shopping mall. The station was opened on 28 February 1996 as part of the inaugural section of line B, from San Javier to San Antonio.

Nutibara Hill (Spanish: Cerro Nutibara) is a rocky hill formation located in the Colombian city of Medellin, in the geographic center of the Aburrá Valley and on the west bank of the Medellín River. It is one of the few ecosystems that is conserved in Medellín and is considered one of the city's seven "guardian" hills. The hill has a sculpture park, the open-air Carlos Vieco Auditorium, and the Pueblito Paisa a reproduction of the traditional Colombian township, amongst other sights. The hill is 80 meters tall and has an area of 333,300 m2. It is named after the indigenous Chief Nutibara. Initially with the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors, the hill was called "Marcela of the Parra Hill", and then "Cadavides Hill". Finally, it was renamed Nutibara, which continues today.

Medellín (Spanish pronunciation: [meðeˈʝin] or [með̞eˈʎin]), officially the Municipality of Medellín (Spanish: Municipio de Medellín), is the second-largest city in Colombia, after Bogotá, and the capital of the department of Antioquia. It is located in the Aburrá Valley, a central region of the Andes Mountains in South America. According to the National Administrative Department of Statistics, the city had an estimated population of 2,508,452 according to the 2018 census. With its surrounding area that includes nine other cities, the metropolitan area of Medellín is the second-largest urban agglomeration in Colombia in terms of population and economy, with more than 4 million people. In 1616, the Spaniard Francisco Herrera Campuzano erected a small indigenous village ("poblado") known as "Saint Lawrence of Aburrá" (San Lorenzo de Aburrá), located in the present-day El Poblado commune. On 2 November 1675, the queen consort Mariana of Austria founded the "Town of Our Lady of Candelaria of Medellín" (Villa de Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria de Medellín) in the Aná region, which today corresponds to the center of the city (east-central zone) and first describes the region as "Medellín". In 1826, the city was named the capital of the Department of Antioquia by the National Congress of the nascent Republic of Gran Colombia, comprising present-day Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Panama. After Colombia won its independence from Spain, Medellín became the capital of the Federal State of Antioquia until 1888, with the proclamation of the Colombian Constitution of 1886. During the 19th century, Medellín was a dynamic commercial center, first exporting gold, then producing and exporting coffee. Towards the end of the 20th century, into the beginning of the 21st the city regained industrial dynamism, with the construction of the Medellín Metro commuter rail, liberalized development policies, improved security and improved education. Researchers at the Overseas Development Institute have lauded the city as a pioneer of a post-Washington consensus "local development state" model of economic development. The city is promoted internationally as a tourist destination and is considered a global city type "Gamma +" by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network. The Medellín Metropolitan Area produces 67% of the Department of Antioquia's GDP and 11% of the economy of Colombia. Medellín is important to the region for its universities, academies, commerce, industry, science, health services, flower-growing, and festivals. In February 2013, the Urban Land Institute chose Medellín as the most innovative city in the world due to its recent advances in politics, education, and social development. In the same year, Medellín won the Verónica Rudge Urbanism Award conferred by Harvard University to the Urban Development Enterprise, mainly due to the North-Western Integral Development Project in the city. In September 2013, the United Nations ratified Colombia's petition to host UN-Habitat's 7th World Urban Forum in Medellín, from 5–11 April 2014. In 2016, Medellín won the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize. The award seeks to recognize and celebrate efforts in furthering innovation in urban solutions and sustainable urban development.

Plaza de Toros La Macarena is a bullring in Medellín, Colombia. It is currently used for bull fighting and concerts. The stadium holds 15,000 spectators. It was opened in 1945.

The Interactive Museum EPM is in Medellín, Colombia. It is part of the Barefoot Park and receives about a 1,000 visitors a day, mostly students. The museum provides an educational tour of 22 rooms spread over four buildings with technology explained in an entertaining way and guests interacting with the physical principles of water, energy, gas and telecommunications. It is funded and managed by Empresas Públicas de Medellín.

The José Gutiérrez Gómez Medellín Metropolitan Theatre is the most important and biggest theater in Medellín, Colombia.

Suramericana is the third stop on line B of the Medellín Metro going from the center of the city to the west. It is one of five stations located by the La Hueso ravine. The station is elevated and is also located near the Medellín Museum of Modern Art, the National University of Colombia, and El Volador hill. Outside the station there is the statue Monument to Life by Rodrigo Arenas Betancourt and the tiled mural Our Lady of the Macarena by Gabriel Ripol. The station was opened on 28 February 1996 as part of the inaugural section of line B, from San Javier to San Antonio.

The Metropolitan Area of the Aburrá Valley (Spanish: Área Metropolitana del Valle de Aburrá) is the second most important and populated metropolitan area in Colombia. The region is made up of ten municipalities, Medellín (Colombia) being the most important and largest the capital city of the Antioquia Department.

Barefoot Park (Spanish: Parque de los Pies Descalzos) is a zen-inspired public park in Medellín, Colombia. The park was funded by EPM and designed by architect Felipe Uribe de Bedout. The park includes a green area with gardens and bamboo, a sand area, and an area with water fountains. As suggested by its name, the park is playful in nature. Children and adults are encouraged to play in the park barefoot. The Barefoot Park was created between 1998 and 2000. It is located in the administrative area of the city, adjacent to the Medellín Metropolitan Theatre, and the Medellín River. The Interactive Museum EPM, an interactive science museum, is part of the park.
