The Metropolitan Area of the Aburrá Valley

Father José Luis Arroyave Restrepo Library, most commonly known as San Javier Library (Spanish: Parque Biblioteca San Javier) for its location in the San Javier commune, is one of ten library parks in Medellín, Colombia. The library was designed by architect Javier Vera.

Santa Lucía is the sixth station on line B of the Medellín Metro from the center going west. It is named after the Santa Lucía neighbourhood where it is located. The station was opened on 28 February 1996 as part of the inaugural section of line B, from San Javier to San Antonio.

Floresta is the fifth station on line B of the Medellín Metro from the center going west. At its entrance is the mosaic Our Virgin Lady of Sorrows. The station communicates with part of the Atanasio Girardot Sports Complex, the Ethnographic Museum of Miguel Ángel Builes, and the Medellin headquarters of Sukyo Mahikari, among others. The station was opened on 28 February 1996 as part of the inaugural section of line B, from San Javier to San Antonio.

Medellín Sports Coliseum (known in Spanish simply as the Coliseums (Spanish: Los Coliseos) or the Sport Coliseums (Spanish: Los Coliseos Deportivos), is a complex of five sports arenas located in Medellín, Colombia: the Guillermo Gaviria Correa Coliseum for Martial Arts, the Jorge Valderrama Coliseum for Handball, the Jorge Hugo Giraldo Coliseum for Gymnastics, the Iván de Beodut Coliseum for Basketball, and the Yesid Santos Coliseum for Volleyball. It is part of the larger Atanasio Girardot Sports Complex. The five gymnasiums were designed by Giancarlo Mazzanti and Plan B Architects. Three coliseums were renovated and two new coliseums were constructed in 18 months and with CO$50 million in preparation for the 2010 South American Games. The design has a wavy sloped green roofline and an area of 493,000 square feet.

Atanasio Girardot Sports Complex (officially Unidad Deportiva Atanasio Girardot) is a sports complex located in Medellín, Colombia. The complex includes Estadio Atanasio Girardot, Medellín Sports Coliseum, Luis Alberto Villegas Stadium, and Alfonso Galvis Duque Stadium.

Estadio Atanasio Girardot (Atanasio Girardot Stadium), commonly referred to as El Atanasio, is a multi-purpose stadium in Medellín, Colombia. Located in the Laureles comuna of Medellin, the stadium is currently used mostly for football matches by Atlético Nacional and Independiente Medellín, the most popular clubs in the Antioquia Department. On occasion, the stadium has held Colombia national team matches too. The stadium was inaugurated on 19 March 1953 with a friendly match between Antioquia XI and Club America.It was renovated for the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup to the capacity of 40,943. The renovations also included the removal of the high fencing around the pitch, the removal of the running track, and the painting of seats. Its current capacity is 44,826 which ranks as the third largest in the country behind Estadio Deportivo Cali and Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez. The stadium was named after Atanasio Girardot, a Colombian revolutionary leader who fought alongside Simón Bolívar.The stadium is part of the Atanasio Girardot Sports Complex. In 2021 the stadium was renovated to prepare for the 2021 Copa América, which was originally to be held in Colombia. However, the tournament was moved to Brazil. The renovations cost around $11 million and included more press boxes, more luxury boxes, better lighting, seating replacements, and bathroom renovations.

Estadio is the fourth station on line B of the Medellín Metro from the center going west. It is an elevated station named after the nearby Atanasio Girardot Sports Complex, which is the main area for sports activities in the Medellin Metropolitan Area. The sports complex hosted the 2010 South American Games and is where the two biggest football clubs in Medellín play, Atlético Nacional and Independiente Medellín. Located nearby are the headquarters for the daily newspaper El Mundo, the Pontifical Bolivarian and Luis Amigó Catholic universities, as well as the Unicentro shopping mall. The station was opened on 28 February 1996 as part of the inaugural section of line B, from San Javier to San Antonio.

The Pontifical Bolivarian University (Spanish: Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana), also referred to as UPB, is a private university in Colombia with its main campus in Medellín, where it was founded in 1936. As of June 2022, the UPB holds the top 4 university in Colombia and Top 30 in LATAM. Currently, the university has campuses in other Colombian cities, such as Bogotá, Bucaramanga, Montería and Palmira. As of January 2021, the university estimated its nationwide student population at 26,000 The university offers 74 undergraduate programs, 68 master programs and 10 doctorate programs nationwide. The university groups its educational programs under the schools of Architecture And Urbanism, Design, Engineering, Health Sciences, Law and Political Sciences, Strategic Sciences (Management), Social Sciences, Education and Teaching, and Theology, Philosophy and Humanities. The university also operates elementary and high school programs under its educational umbrella. The university has several distinguished alumni such as Former President of Colombia Belisario Betancur Cuartas, and Former First Lady of Colombia Lina María Moreno Mejía.

Estadio La Raza is the main tennis court in Medellín, Colombia. Built in 1958, it currently holds 10,000 spectators.

Coliseo Iván de Bedout is an indoor sporting arena that is located in Medellín, Colombia. The arena is mainly used to host basketball and futsal games. The arena's seating capacity for basketball and futsal games is 6,000. The arena has been a part of the Medellín Sports Coliseum since 2009.

St. Ignatius Loyola College (Spanish: San Ignacio de Loyola) is a private Catholic primary and secondary school, located in the La Plazuela area of Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia. The school was founded by the Society of Jesus in 1885, initially as a boys' school, and now offers a co-educaitonal environment for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The school moved to the Stadium Area in 1957.

San Javier is the seventh and final station on line B of the Medellín Metro, and a transfer station to line J. It is the most western station and is the only station on line B that is not elevated. The station was opened on 28 February 1996 as part of the inaugural section of line B, from San Javier to San Antonio. In 2008 it was subjected to a process of expansion and remodeling to connect with the new line J, known as Metrocable New West. It is also the only station on the line to have an Island Platform.
