Renneckenberg

The Kapellenklippe is a tor near the Glassworks Way (Glashüttenweg) on the Renneckenberg mountain in the High Harz in central Germany within the borough of Wernigerode. The tor is in a remote spot in the Harz National Park and can only be reached over unsigned paths. The summit of the rocks is 927 m above sea level and looks a bit like a bell. The tor is a popular destination for climbers. From its summit there is a view towards the Brocken. The tor is almost completely overgrown with pine trees and only projects a few metres above the tops of the trees.

The Molkenhaus is a historic house near Wernigerode, Harz, Germany, located on the Jägerkopf hill above the Steinerne Renne waterfall and the source region of the Holtemme river. The timber-framed building, which was built by order of the Senior Master Hunter (Oberjägermeister) of the counts of Stolberg, von Meseberg, at the beginning of the 18th century, belonged to the Ilsenburger Marienhof and was used for hunting purposes and the production of butter. Nowadays it is used by the Harz National Park.

The Wormke is a river of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, in the Harz Mountains. It is a left tributary of the Kalte Bode, about 6.7 kilometres (4.2 mi) long.

The Heinrichshöhe is a subsidiary peak of the highest mountain in the Harz, the Brocken, and, at 1,040 m above NN, it is the second summit in the Harz Mountains. Today, it may only be visited with permission from the national park authority for the purposes of research or controlling the wildlife population.

The Zeterklippen are a striking rock formation or tor on the 930-metre-high Renneckenberg mountain, overlooking the Ilse valley in the Harz mountains in Germany. The Renneckenberg is an eastern sub-peak of the Brocken. The rocks themselves lie at a height of about 830 metres (2,720 ft) above sea level. They can be reached from the Molkenhausstern after about 2.5 km. The track initially runs uphill through dense spruce forest until the view opens out towards the Hohnekamm and down to Wernigerode. Then the route branches off to the right onto a steep, 0.5 km, path and, after about 200 m, a gentler 0.4 km path leads to the Große Zeterklippe ("Great Zeter Rock"). Immediately below this highest of the rocks is a mountain hut that dates to the time when a botanical garden had been laid out here as a replacement for the inaccessible Brockengarten. The Große Zeterklippe can be climbed using iron ladders. The climb is rewarded with a wonderful view of the Brocken, the town of Wernigerode below and the North Harz Foreland.

The Ahrensklint or Ahrentsklint (also called the Ahrentsklintklippe) in the Harz Mountains is a granite rock formation, 822.4 m above sea level (NN), on the Erdbeerkopf in Harz district in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt.

Schierke is a village and a former municipality in the Harz district, in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. Since 1 July 2009, it is part of the town Wernigerode. Situated within the Harz mountain range in the valley of the river Bode, at the rim of the Harz National Park, it is mainly a tourist resort, especially for hiking and all kinds of winter sports.

The Eckerloch is a forested mountain valley, 845 metres above sea level near the village of Schierke in the Harz Mountains of central Germany.

The Brocken Garden (German: Brockengarten) is an alpine botanical garden on the summit of the Brocken (1,142 m above sea level), the highest peak in the Harz mountains of Germany. It lies within the Harz National Park near Wernigerode in the state of Saxony-Anhalt and has a stock of around 1,600 types of plant. These include species that only grow in the Brocken region, like the Brocken anemone or alpine pasqueflower and the Brocken hawkweed, but its main focus is on alpine plants like the white dryad and the Swiss willow. It is open daily without charge.

Brocken station (German: Bahnhof Brocken) is the terminus on the summit of the Brocken, the highest mountain in the Harz in central Germany. It lies in the state of Saxony-Anhalt and is the end point of the Brocken Railway operated by the Harz Narrow Gauge Railways.

The Erdbeerkopf is an 847.7 m-high mountain in the High Harz in central Germany, northeast of Schierke in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. To the north and east, the forested summit is bordered by the Wormsgraben, the valley of the Wormke. To the south runs the Brocken Railway along the slopes of the Erdbeerkopf. There are two paths leading to the mountain, from the east and west. To the southwest a field runs downhill that used to be a ski slope. The remains of a derelict ski lift can still be seen there. The mountain is very rarely climbed despite its accessible location. On the summit is a wooden bench from where part of the South Harz can be seen through the gap in the trees.
