Wanneroo is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia. The district is located in the northern suburbs of Perth. Wanneroo is a traditionally a marginal seat; it has been held by the government of the day on every occasion since its creation in 1989. However, at the 2021 state election, which resulted in a second consecutive landslide for Mark McGowan, the marginal trend was broken and Wanneroo became a very safe seat for the Labor Party. Despite this, the seat still retains its status as a bellwether seat.

Sinagra is an outer northern suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Wanneroo. This suburb, formerly part of the suburb of Wanneroo, is named after the Sinagra family, migrants from Italy who arrived in the Wanneroo area in the 1920s. The City of Wanneroo established a sister city relationship with Sinagra, Sicily as a large number of families migrated from there to make a new home in Wanneroo. Sam Sinagra owned a shop in Wanneroo, and the family were prominent citizens. The suburb name was approved on 3 April 1995. There are no bus routes directly serving the centre of the suburb. However, routes 467 and 468 operate along the western edge on Wanneroo Road, while routes 389 and 467 also operate along the southern edge on Dundebar Road.

Tapping is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Wanneroo. It came into being in the early 1990s as a subdivision of Wanneroo, originally as part of the Carramar estate. Tapping was chosen as the suburb name in honour of an early settler family in the Wanneroo area. William Tapping arrived in 1886 and Molly and Dolly Tapping were long time postmistresses in Wanneroo. The name for the suburb was approved in 1997.

The City of Wanneroo is a local government area with city status in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. It is centred approximately 25 kilometres (15.5 mi) north of Perth's central business district and forms part of the northern boundary of the Perth metropolitan area. Wangara encompasses the federal divisions of Cowan, Moore and Pearce.The city's main commercial and residential town centres are located at Wanneroo in the east and Clarkson in the north. Further urban centres are planned at Alkimos, Yanchep and Two Rocks in the future to coincide with rapid metropolitan expansion and development in the area. It is also home to the Yanchep and Neerabup National Parks, as well as the Neerabup Industrial Estate in the north. From the city's inception until 1998, it also incorporated the neighbouring City of Joondalup in its entirety.

Yellagonga Regional Park is in Perth, Western Australia, in the City of Wanneroo and the City of Joondalup. The park was established in 1989 by the Western Australian government and protects 1,400 hectares (3,500 acres) of land, including 550 hectares (1,400 acres) of Wanneroo wetlands – including Lake Joondalup, Beenup Swamp, Walluburnup Swamp and Lake Goollelal.The park contains heritage buildings, including Perry's Cottage, Cockman House and Luisini Winery, and recreation areas such as Neil Hawkins Park. It is named after Yellagonga, leader of the Mooro people.

Lake Joondalup is a medium-sized freshwater lake in Perth, Western Australia. It is in the Perth northern suburbs of Joondalup, Wanneroo, and Edgewater. It is a nature reserve and part of the Yellagonga Regional Park.

Neil Hawkins Park is a park located in Joondalup, Western Australia. It is beside Lake Joondalup, and part of the Yellagonga Regional Park.The park was named for Neil Campbell Hawkins CBE JP, a chairman of the former Metropolitan Regional Planning Authority.The Yaberoo Budjara Heritage Trail between Neil Hawkins Park and Loch McNess (in Yanchep National Park) follows an ancient Indigenous Australian migration route along a chain of lakes and swamps.

The Wanneroo Agricultural Show, or simply Wanneroo Show, is an agricultural show held on the third Friday and Saturday of November each year. It is organized by the Wanneroo Agricultural Society and held in the City of Wanneroo in the north of Perth, where it has been held since inception in 1909. Featuring competitions in agriculture, arts and crafts, photography, cooking, art, beer and wine production, and horticulture, attractions such as rides and showbags, and commercial stands, the Wanneroo Show has grown to attract 10,000 people a year.

Joondalup Health Campus is the largest health care facility in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. The 722-bed hospital has featured combined public and private services since 1996. In March 2013, the new Joondalup Private Hospital opened next to the existing hospital, within the same campus. The public and private hospitals share the emergency department, operating theatres and intensive care facilities. The hospital's campus is now run by Ramsay Health Care, which also operates Attadale Private Hospital, Glengarry Private Hospital, Peel Health Campus and Hollywood Private Hospital.

Wanneroo Secondary College is an Independent Public secondary school in Wanneroo, a suburb 22 kilometres (14 mi) north of Perth, Western Australia.
