Tomaree High School is a government-funded co-educational comprehensive secondary day school, located in Salamander Bay, a suburb of the Port Stephens Council local government area in New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1988, the school enrolled approximately 1,110 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom eight percent identified as Indigenous Australians and eight percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education; the principal is Paul Baxter.

Corlette is a suburb of the Port Stephens local government area in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. It is located just west of Nelson Bay on the shores of Port Stephens. It was named after Captain James Corlette who skippered the 63 tonnes (62 long tons) cutter Lambton which was the first privately owned local vessel. Corlette first used it to ship timber and wool out of Port Stephens in 1816. While property values throughout the suburb average around A$1,100,000 in the most affluent areas on the shores of Salamander Bay individual sale prices of $3.7 million have been realised. It has many local tourism attractions including Bagnalls Beach Reserve, Port Stephens Shell Museum, Blue Water Sailing and Nude Kayaks.

Taylors Beach is a suburb of the Port Stephens local government area in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. It is largely undeveloped except for some commercial and light industrial developments in the southern part of the suburb. The largest population centre is at Taylors Beach itself, in the western part of the suburb, adjacent to Tilligerry Creek and Port Stephens. At the 2021 census Taylors Beach had a population of 120.[1]

Located on the southern shores of Port Stephens it is almost entirely surrounded by the port and is a popular location for fishing and boating. While primarily residential, like other suburbs around Port Stephens, it is a popular tourist destination, especially in summer months. It also has numerous community events and family fun days for locals and tourists alike.Soldiers Point was originally the site of a garrison of soldiers that was established in 1820 to hunt down escaped convicts.In July 2016, the New South Wales government declared 5.9 ha (14.6 acres) of the suburb as an Aboriginal place, recognising that Soldiers Point was a special place for cultural, spiritual and historic reasons to the Worimi people.

Anna Bay is the name of a suburb, a town and a bay in the Port Stephens local government area in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. The suburb and town are immediately adjacent to the north-eastern end of Stockton Beach and provide one of the major entry points to the beach at Birubi Point. Both were named after the bay of the same name which is located in the adjacent suburb of One Mile. According to legend to it was originally called Hannah Bay after an alleged shipwreck in 1851 but the vessel has never been identified. The name was changed by post service on 15 May 1896 as many locals were already referring to it as Anna Bay.The Worimi people are the traditional owners of the Port Stephens area.During World War II Stockton Beach was heavily fortified against a possible amphibious assault by Imperial Japanese forces and a line of tank traps was installed to prevent entry to the local area through the town. Many of the tank traps were removed after the war and now feature significantly around the car parking areas at Birubi Point. From here many tourists partake in organised beach tours and camel rides.

Bay FM 88.0 is a narrowcast FM radio station serving the Tomaree and Tilligerry Peninsulas of Port Stephens in New South Wales, Australia. The station's licence was granted on 29 April 1998 and it transmits from Gan Gan Hill in Nelson Bay. Originally broadcasting on 98.3 MHz, the station's frequency was changed to 99.3 MHz on 8 August 2003. The frequency was changed again on 26 February 2015 to 88.0 MHz.

One Mile is a suburb of the Port Stephens local government area in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. The Worimi people are the traditional owners of the Port Stephens area. The suburb is semi-rural with a small urban settlement, several eco-resorts and back-packer accommodations to the west of Gan Gan Road. On the beach side there is a residential land-lease community (Middlerock Home Village) and three tourist parks. The parks, two of which have licensed restaurants, are positioned to provide quick access to the suburb's two beaches. Since late 2017 Port Stephens Koala Hospital has been operating in the grounds of Treescape resort . One Mile Beach, after which the area was named, is a family-friendly surf beach that is popular with tourists while Samurai Beach is accessible only by off-road vehicles and is clothing optional. Both beaches, like a large percentage of the locality, lie within the Tomaree National Park. The beaches form most of the coastline of Anna Bay which gave the adjacent suburb of Anna Bay its name. The beach has a Surf Club, kiosk, barbecue and picnics area as well as public amenities.Although the suburb is formally called One Mile residents often refer to it as One Mile Beach. Until 2016, even some road signs identified the area incorrectly as One Mile Beach.

Port Stephens, an open youthful tide-dominated drowned-valley estuary, is a large natural harbour of approximately 134 square kilometres (52 sq mi) located in the Hunter and Mid North Coast regions of New South Wales, Australia.Port Stephens lies within the Port Stephens–Great Lakes Marine Park and is situated about 160 kilometres (99 mi) north-east of Sydney. The harbour lies wholly within the local government area of Port Stephens; although its northern shoreline forms the boundary between the Port Stephens and MidCoast local government areas.According to the 2006 census, more than 26,000 people lived within 3 km (1.9 mi) of its 113 km (70 mi) long shoreline and more than 32,000 lived within 10 km (6 mi).

Lemon Tree Passage is a suburb of the Port Stephens local government area in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia, located at the end of the Tilligerry Peninsula and surrounded by the waters of Port Stephens. At the 2021 census it had a population of 2,686. It is a haven for koalas due to it being densely wooded. The town has a small marina and the local industry is oyster farming. The suburb is separated from nearby Bulls Island by a small strait which is also known as Lemon Tree Passage.Lemon Tree Passage has been the focus of an urban legend that states that if a motorist speeds down Lemon Tree Passage Road, they will experience supernatural phenomena. This urban legend provided the focus for the 2013 horror/thriller film Lemon Tree Passage.The Bureau of Meteorology maintain a monitoring station which includes a Weather radar in the high forested area.

Tomaree is a national park located in New South Wales, Australia, 145–155 km (90–96 mi) northeast of Sydney in the Port Stephens local government area. It is located on the shores of the Tasman Sea, extending north from Fishermans Bay to Shoal Bay passing through Boat Harbour, One Mile, Nelson Bay and Fingal Bay. Most entry points to the park are indicated by signs installed by the NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service which usually indicate any activities that may be prohibited within park boundaries. It is a great place for a walk on the beach and whale watching, and you can also come across koalas dozing in the trees.Two prominent locations in the park are Point Stephens Light, a lighthouse built in 1862 and the Tomaree Head Fortifications, World War II gun emplacements on Tomaree Head which were built in 1941, the location of the No. 20 Radar Station RAAF.This is the traditional land of the Aboriginal people of Worimi, and provides important resources such as food, medicine and shelter.

Boat Harbour is a suburb of the Port Stephens local government area in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. The main population centre of the suburb is the village also known as Boat Harbour. Both lie adjacent to the bay after which they were named. The traditional owners of the land are Worimi people.From the easternmost end of Ocean Parade in highest part of the suburb, adjacent to the Tomaree National Park at Morna Point, there are striking views of the coastline. On a clear day it is possible to follow the coast southwards to the horizon, well beyond Newcastle. Boat Harbour is a sheltered, sandy bay. Kingsley Beach is just to the south and is popular with surfers.
