The River Farg is a small tributary of the River Earn, located in the lieutenancy area of Perth and Kinross, central Scotland.

The Bein Inn (commonly known as the Famous Bein Inn) is an historic building in Glenfarg, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. A "noted hostelry," according to the Gazetteer for Scotland, it was originally built in the 19th century as a resting place for travellers moving between Edinburgh and the Highlands on the old Great North Road, the traditional route north, today's A912 road. It stands at the junction of the A912 and the B996. An original building, now known as Bein Cottage, across the old Great North Road from the main inn, is no longer part of the inn. The inn has been extended on its western side, along the B996. In 1983, the inn had eighteen bedrooms.In the early 2000s, the inn was a noted venue for live rock music.

Rhynd () is a hamlet in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It is located 3+1⁄4 miles (5.2 kilometres) southeast of Perth, on the south side of the River Tay.The parish church was built in 1842, and replaced an earlier church at Easter Rhynd, 2 miles (3 kilometres) southeast, where the churchyard can still be seen. The village has an unusual "K3" telephone box, a concrete variant of the more common "K2", which is protected as a category A listed building as the only surviving example in Scotland. The 16th-century Elcho Castle, built by the Wemyss family, lies 3⁄4 mile (1.2 kilometres) north, and is now in the care of Historic Environment Scotland.The name Rhynd comes from the Gaelic roinn meaning a share or a portion (of land). The parish consists of 2,893 acres (1,171 hectares) of land.

Balvaird Castle in Perthshire is a traditional late medieval Scottish tower house. It is located in the Ochil Hills, around 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) south of Abernethy. The name Balvaird is from Baile a' Bhàird, 'Township of the Bard' in Gaelic. Balvaird Castle is a scheduled monument, and is in the care of Historic Environment Scotland. The spelling of its name has many variations, including Balverd, Balverde, Balward, Balwaird and Baleward.

Abernethy railway station served the village of Abernethy, in Scotland.

The Abernethy Round Tower is a stone-built Irish-style round tower which stands in School Wynd, at the edge of the village cemetery, in Abernethy, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. Dating from the 11th century, the tower is one of only two such towers surviving in Scotland—the other is at Brechin—and is protected as a scheduled monument. The roofless sandstone tower is 22.5 m (73 ft 10 in) high and has a diameter of 4.57 m (15 ft 0 in) at ground level, tapering upwards to 3.96 m (13 ft 0 in). The walls are 1.07 m (3 ft 6 in) thick. The twelve lower layers are of a different coloured stone to the rest of the building, leading to speculation that the base was built earlier than the rest. There are indications that the tower originally had six wooden floors, probably connected by ladders. Fixed to the outside base of the tower is a Pictish stone; the tower also has an iron joug or pillory attached. Various changes have been made to the tower over the years, including the installation of an iron spiral staircase when it became a lookout tower, windows and an outside clock. The current clock dates from 1868. Here Malcolm III of Scotland paid homage to William the Conqueror some six years after the Battle of Hastings.

The River Earn (Scottish Gaelic: Uisge Èireann) in Scotland leaves Loch Earn at St Fillans and runs east through Strathearn, then east and south, joining the River Tay near Abernethy. The Earn is about 74 kilometres (46 mi) long. It passes by Comrie, Crieff (where it is joined by the Pow of Inchaffray) and Bridge of Earn. The river is fast flowing, with many shoals, whilst the surrounding land is generally flat and is occasionally subject to flooding.Near to the River Earn lay the ancient Strageath Roman Camp. This camp was one of a series of camps used by the Romans to construct their invasion of the north; other notable camps in this chain are Ardoch, Stracathro, Battledykes, Raedykes and Normandykes.

Elcho Castle () is located close to the south bank of the River Tay approximately four miles south-east of Perth, Scotland, in the region of Perth and Kinross. It was maintained by Clan Wemyss from its construction around 1560 until it was put into the care of the Secretary of State for Scotland in the early 20th century, though was not occupied for the entire time. In around 1830 it was re-roofed and a nearby cottage constructed. The castle has been a scheduled monument since 1920 on the grounds of being "a particularly fine example of a Medieval tower-house", and the cottage became a listed building in 1971 in recognition of its national importance. The castle is unusual in that it has both en suite guest accommodation like a mansion, but also a large number of gun loops.

Inchyra (; Scottish Gaelic: An Innis Iarach "the west isle") is a hamlet in the Carse of Gowrie in Scotland. It lies on the northern bank of the River Tay near Perth and is notable particularly for a number of archaeological finds made in the immediate vicinity.

Bridge of Earn (Scottish Gaelic: Drochaid Èireann) is a small town in Perthshire, Scotland. Often referred to simply as 'The Brig' (Scots for 'bridge'). The village grew up on the south bank of an important crossing of the River Earn, whose sandstone bridge existed from at least the early 14th century, when it is known to have been repaired by order of King Robert I of Scotland (1306–1329) (site: NO 133 185). Substantial remains of the medieval bridge (rendered redundant by a replacement, still in use, slightly upstream in 1821-22) survived into the 1970s, when almost all the stonework was demolished, for (allegedly) being in a dangerously ruinous condition. This ancient bridge was a major landmark on the road between Edinburgh (39 miles or 63 kilometres south) and Perth (4 miles or 6 kilometres north) for several centuries. The village's oldest houses are to be found lining the road (Back Street/Old Edinburgh Road) leading south from the site of the demolished bridge. Among them are some with 18th-century datestones. The ruined Old Bridge of Earn (and part of the village) are featured in the 1857 painting Sir Isumbras at the Ford by John Everett Millais (1829–1896), who often stayed at nearby Perth. There is also an early 19th-century lithograph showing the structure as complete in Sketches of Scenery in Perthshire by David Octavius Hill (1802–1870).
