Wayzata High School is a comprehensive public high school in Plymouth, Minnesota, United States, a suburb of Minneapolis. The high school, operated by Wayzata Public Schools, had about 3711 students in grades 9 to 12 as of 10/1/23, making it Minnesota's largest secondary school by enrollment. It is also Minnesota's largest secondary school by size, with an interior of 658,000 square feet (61,100 m2). The district boundaries include all or part of eight municipalities: Corcoran, Maple Grove, Medicine Lake, Medina, Minnetonka, Orono, Plymouth, and Wayzata. The school finished an expansion project in 2017 with the new capacity of 3,900. It is part of the Lake Conference. Scott Gengler is the principal. In 2015, Newsweek ranked the school 150th on its "List of the 500 Top High Schools in America". U.S. News & World Report ranked the school 432nd among 21,000 schools nationally and 6th in Minnesota in 2021.

Minnesota's 3rd congressional district encompasses the suburbs of Hennepin and Anoka counties to the west, south, and north of Minneapolis. The district, which is mostly suburban in character, includes a few farming communities on its far western edge and also inner-ring suburban areas on its eastern edge. The district includes the blue collar cities of Brooklyn Park and Coon Rapids to the north-east, middle-income Bloomington to the south, and higher-income Eden Prairie, Edina, Maple Grove, Plymouth, Minnetonka, and Wayzata to the west. Democrat Dean Phillips currently represents the district in the U.S. House of Representatives, after defeating incumbent Republican Erik Paulsen in the 2018 midterm elections.

An outer edge suburb of Minneapolis–Saint Paul, the city has a primarily rural character, with agricultural lands and natural preservation areas. Medina is home to the corporate headquarters of Polaris Inc., an automotive manufacturer that produces items such as all-terrain vehicles and snowmobiles. The population was 6,837 at the 2020 census. It is about 15 miles (24 km) west of downtown Minneapolis.

Heritage Christian Academy is a private Christian school which educates children from Kindergarten Development class for three-year-olds through the high school grades. It is an outreach ministry of Grace Free Lutheran Church, formerly Medicine Lake Lutheran Church, to the Christian community (students from 80 different area churches attend this school). Heritage Christian Academy was founded in 1981 by members of Medicine Lake Lutheran Church as Medicine Lake Lutheran Academy. The school's first president was Mrs. Beverly Enderlein. She retired in 2006, after 25 years as president. The current president is Mrs. Tonya Scott. In the summer of 2002, the name Medicine Lake Lutheran Academy was changed to Heritage Christian Academy. In January 2003, Heritage Christian Academy opened the doors of its new facility in Maple Grove, where it now houses Kindergarten Development through 12th grades. Heritage Christian Academy is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International, the same organization through which accreditation is being pursued. The Heritage girls' volleyball team made history in 2015 when they won the section 4A tournament and advanced to the Class A state tournament, where they got third place. The volleyball team won the section 4A tournament and proceeded to state again in 2016, where they placed fourth.

West Lutheran High School is a private Lutheran co-educational secondary school located in Plymouth, a suburb of the Twin Cities, in Minnesota, in the United States. It is operated by 20 Lutheran congregations belonging to the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod and the Evangelical Lutheran Synod. It is accredited by the Minnesota Nonpublic School Accrediting Association (MNSAA).The school was opened in 1979 in temporary quarters. A permanent facility was established in 1996. It serves grades 9–12 and has a student body of about 140.

It is about 16 miles (26 kilometres) west of Minneapolis on the shores of Lake Minnetonka. Wayzata is known for its small-town character and quaint downtown area along the lake. A line of the BNSF Railway runs through town.

Wayzata station (officially recognized as the Great Northern Railway Depot but commonly referred to as the Wayzata Depot) is a historic train depot in Wayzata, Minnesota, United States. Constructed and operated by the Great Northern Railway, the station was in service from 1906 until 1971. The depot is positioned along Lake Minnetonka in downtown Wayzata with steps leading down to the lakeshore. Although no longer transporting passenger trains, the BNSF Railway line going through Wayzata is still active today. Designed in the English Tudor Revival style by architect Samuel L. Bartlett, the depot was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1981. Donated to the city in 1972 by the Burlington Northern Railway, it is currently home to both the Wayzata Historical Society Museum and the Wayzata Area Chamber of Commerce.

Wayzata Bay Center was an enclosed shopping mall in Wayzata, Minnesota, a suburb of the Twin Cities. Wayzata Bay Center once comprised 127,000 square feet (12,000 m2) of retail space, with approximately 30 stores on one level, but closed in 2011 after the city of Wayzata agreed upon constructing a new facility on the same land. The mall was once owned by Madison Marquette until residents of the city purchased the mall for $16 million in December 2004. Opened in 1967, Wayzata Bay Center was constructed in two phases; the first phase was completed in 1964 while the second phase was completed in 1967. The mall initially featured several regional retailers, along with small businesses, but eventually made way for various national chains, including The Original Pancake House and True Value. After increasing vacancies throughout the center in the 2000s, a Minnesota construction firm purchased the center from United Properties for $16 million in 2009. Following the firm's purchase in 2011, the mall was shut and torn down to make way for a mixed-use retail and residential community center.
