Gol Station (Norwegian: Gol stasjon) is a train station located at Gol in Buskerud, Norway. The station is served by up to six daily express trains operated by Vy Tog. The station was opened as part of the Bergen Line between Bergen and Gulsvik in 1907.

Gol () is a municipality in Buskerud county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Hallingdal. The administrative center of the municipality is the village of Gol which is also the population center. Gol was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The area of Hemsedal was separated from Gol in 1897 to become a separate municipality. The municipality of Gol is bordered to the north by the municipality of Nord-Aurdal (in Oppland county), to the east by Sør-Aurdal (in Oppland county), to the south by Nes, and to the west by Ål and Hemsedal.

Gardnos crater (Gardnos krateret) is a meteorite impact crater in Nesbyen municipality in Buskerud, Norway. It is located inside Meteorite Park (Meteorittparken) at Gardnos 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) north of the town of Nesbyen. Gardnos crater is 5 kilometres (3 mi) in diameter, and was created when a meteorite with an estimated diameter of 200 to 300 metres (660 to 980 ft) struck 500 million years ago. At first this site was believed to be a volcanic crater, but in 1990 two geologists, Johan Naterstad and Johannes A. Dons, confirmed that it was in fact formed by meteorite impact. The original bedrock in the area was fractured and a powder of crushed rocks was forced into all the fractures. This is the origin of the peculiar rock in this area. It is possible to drive into the centre of the crater, which makes the Gardnos crater one of the world's most accessible meteorite craters. There are two trails through the surrounding natural region, with information signs describing the unique geology of the area.

Gardnos is a small village in Nesbyen municipality, Buskerud, Norway. Gardnos is on Norwegian National Road 7 midway between Nesbyen and Gol. It is mainly known as the site of the Gardnos crater. Gardnos Meteorite Center (Gardnos Meteorittpark) is open to the public with guided tours provided during summer months.

Hallingdal (English: Halling Valley) is a valley as well as a traditional district located in the traditional and electoral district Buskerud county in Norway. It consists of six municipalities: Flå, Nes, Gol, Hemsedal, Ål and Hol. Hallingdal is one of the major valleys of eastern Norway, on an area of 5,830 square kilometers. Hallingdal lies in the northern part of the county of Buskerud. The valley stretches from Gulsvik by Lake Krøderen to the border with Hordaland and Sogn og Fjordane. Central to the geography is relatively flat mountain area which lies 700–1,100 m (2,300–3,600 ft) above sea level. The valley is V-shaped and is drained by the Hallingdal River which originates in the western parts of Hardangervidda and flows eastwards later southwards through Hallingdal.

Torpo is a small village in Ål municipality, in Buskerud County, Norway, and can be reached by using highway 7. The name Torpo was adopted July 1, 1935 from the old name Torpe. At this date the train station and local post office started using the new adopted name. Torpo is located in Hallingdal between the municipal centers of Ål and Gol. It is adjacent to the villages of Lien and Opheim. The village has 405 inhabitants per 1 January 2009. Previously Torpo was a stopover on the Bergen Railway. Torpo Railway Station, which is in Art Nouveau style, is closed but still standing. Torpo is the site of two notable churches. Torpo Church (Torpo kirke) was built in 1880 using plans by architect A. Keitel Moss based on a design by Conrad Fredrik von der Lippe (1833–1901). It was constructed of wood and has 200 seats. In the 1960s it was restored with plans drawn up by architect Peter Helland-Hansen. Torpo Stave Church is the biggest attraction in the village. Torpo Stave Church was built around 1190–1200. It has a steady stream of visiting tourists during the summer.

The Torpo Railway Station (Norwegian: Torpo stasjon) is a retired railway station located at Torpo in Buskerud county, Norway. It is now used as a crossing track.

Torpo Stave Church (Norwegian: Torpo stavkyrkje) is a stave church located in Torpo, a small village in Ål municipality in Buskerud county, Norway. Torpo is located along Norwegian National Road 7, the Norwegian national road which runs between Oslo and Bergen.

Skogshorn, also written Skogshødn, is a mountain in the municipality Hemsedal in the county Viken. Skogshorn is a part of Hemsedal Top 20. The summit of Skogshorn is a popular destination for day-trips both summer and winter. The east-side approach requires no climbing, and is popular for families and other mountain tourists. The south-side of the mountain can be climbed.
