Carle Place (also known historically as Frog Hollow and Mineola Park) is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of North Hempstead in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. The CDP's population was 4,981 at the 2010 census.

Carle Place Middle/High School is a six-year comprehensive public high school located in the hamlet of Carle Place in the Town of North Hempstead, Nassau County, New York. As of the 2016–17 school year, the school had an enrollment of 652 students and 71.05 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.18:1. There were 107 students (16.4% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 16 (2.5% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Carle Place (previously known as Carll Place) is a station along the Main Line of the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR). It is served by trains on the Port Jefferson Branch at all times while most Ronkonkoma Branch trains and all Montauk Branch trains bypass the station. It is located at Cherry Lane and Atlantic Avenue in Carle Place, New York.

The Westbury Interchange is a highway interchange located in Carle Place and the Incorporated Village of Westbury in the Town of North Hempstead, in Nassau County, Long Island, New York, United States.

Roosevelt Field is a shopping mall in the East Garden City section of Uniondale, New York. It was designed by I. M. Pei and is the largest shopping mall on Long Island, the 2nd-largest in the State of New York, and the tenth-largest shopping mall in the United States.It is managed by Simon Property Group. It is the second most successful mall in the state. The anchors of the 243-store mall are Bloomingdale's, JCPenney, Macy's, Nordstrom, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Neiman Marcus. Previous anchor stores were Gimbels (succeeded by Stern's), A&S, and Alexander's (succeeded by Bloomingdale's). The original anchor store was Macy's. Discount department store chain Century 21 was no longer expected to open in the former Bloomingdale’s Home Furniture in Spring 2021 because Century 21, on Thursday September 10, 2020, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, as a result of insurance companies failing to financially support the chain during the COVID-19 pandemic. In its place, Primark has opened.

Roosevelt Field is a former airport, located in Westbury, Long Island, New York. Originally called the Hempstead Plains Aerodrome, or sometimes Hempstead Plains field or the Garden City Aerodrome, it was a training field (Hazelhurst Field) for the Air Service, United States Army during World War I. In 1919, it was renamed in honor of President Theodore Roosevelt's son, Quentin, who was killed in air combat during World War I. Roosevelt Field was the takeoff point for many historic flights in the early history of aviation, including Charles Lindbergh's 1927 solo transatlantic flight. It was also used by other pioneering aviators, including Amelia Earhart and Wiley Post.

The Roosevelt Field Mall Bus Terminal (also known as the Roosevelt Field Bus Terminal or simply the Roosevelt Field Bus Station) is a major bus hub serving bus routes operated by Nassau Inter-County Express (NICE), located at the south end of Roosevelt Field Mall in the East Garden City section of Uniondale, Nassau County, New York. It features a total of seven bus bays and is located adjacent to the mall's south parking garage.

Samanea New York Mall is a mixed-use development center located in East Garden City, New York, United States, on Old Country Road and Merchants Concourse (Ellison Avenue). It is owned by Lesso Mall Development Long Island Inc. The center is being built inside the mostly unoccupied Mall at the Source, which was named for its former anchor store Fortunoff (advertised as "The Source") that operated until June 2009. The mall opened in 1997, under the management of Simon Property Group. With the 2009 closures of Fortunoff, Steve & Barry's, and Circuit City, three large anchor stores had become vacant. The drop of foot traffic by the loss of the anchors caused other stores – the three aforementioned sub-anchor chains, plus Saks Off 5th, and Forever 21 – and the entire food court, including McDonald's, Starbucks, and Ranch 1 – to leave the mall. Simon Property Group and unnamed co-owners of the Mall at the Source defaulted on a $124 million interest-only balloon payment mortgage in March 2009. It was purchased by a European pension fund in August 2012 and auctioned. In November 2016, it was announced that the Mall at the Source would be sold and could be demolished to make way for a new mixed-use development. In May 2017, Lesso Mall Development Long Island Inc. – a subsidiary of the Hong Kong-listed LESSO Group – purchased the mall for $92 million. On October 21, 2017, it was announced that the Mall at the Source would be redeveloped into a decoration hub for Lesso Home, which was originally scheduled to open in the fall of 2018, but has been delayed. A few retailers, The Cheesecake Factory, Dave & Buster's, and a Fortunoff outdoor furniture and jewelry store have remained open during renovations.

Roosevelt Raceway was a race track located just outside the village of Westbury on Long Island, New York. Initially created as a venue for motor racing, it was converted to a ½-mile harness racing facility (the actual circumference was 100 feet shorter). The harness racing facility operated from September 2, 1940 until July 15, 1988. It was the original home of the Messenger Stakes, part of the Triple Crown of Harness Racing for Pacers. The raceway hosted the event until it closed. It was also the first track to use the now universal "mobile starting gate". The operation was sold in 1984 on the condition it was to remain an operating racetrack, but the facilities deteriorated, attendance dropped off, and the plant was no longer profitable. The site of Roosevelt Raceway is part of the Hempstead Plains, located in an unincorporated area of the Town of Hempstead, within the Westbury 11590 Zip Code. It is located near where the first English Governor of New York, Richard Nicolls, established the "Newmarket Course", the first horse racing track in North America (and the first organized sport of any kind) in the territory that would become the United States, in 1664.

Wheatley Hills Golf Club, is a 110-acre (45 ha) country club and golf course in East Williston, New York. It was established in 1913 from land purchased from William Titus for forty eight dollars per acre. The Titus homestead was converted into the clubhouse. Adjacent to the property is the Long Island Motor Parkway built by William Kissam Vanderbilt II where he held auto races and awarded the Vanderbilt Cup. Also adjacent is the property of Harry Payne Whitney.

The Stewart Avenue–Uniondale Hub Substation (also known as the Stewart Avenue Substation and colloquially as both the Uniondale Hub and by its former name, East Garden City Substation) is a major electric transmission substation located on Stewart Avenue within the East Garden City section of Uniondale, in Nassau County, New York, United States. The substation is operated by the New York Power Authority (NYPA), and it serves as both a critical part of Long Island's high-voltage transmission network – and as a connection point between the Long Island and mainland sections of New York's statewide power grid.

The 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines (2/25) is a reserve infantry battalion in the United States Marine Corps. Headquartered in Garden City, New York, it has units located throughout the Mid-Atlantic States. It consists of approximately 1,000 Marines and sailors under the command of the 25th Marine Regiment and the 4th Marine Division.
